32: Chapter 32 Promotion
The Grey Dome Restaurant is one of the few surviving pay-to-eat restaurants in the academy.
It is situated in a vast garden with extremely beautiful scenery.
However, no matter how beautiful the scenery was, Byron and Colin were in no mood to appreciate it at this moment; they were busy trying to persuade Elena.
Byron: "Senior, that's enough, that's enough. You've ordered too many dishes; the three of us can't eat all of this."
Colin: "Senior, you also have to consider our wallets!"
Elena glared at Colin: "What are you saying? It was agreed that I would treat, and I'm not even heartbroken, so why are you?"
Upon hearing this, Colin's face twisted in bitterness; he had grievances he couldn't voice.
She says this every time, and every time she gets drunk and skips out on the bill.
Byron followed up on Elena's words and persuaded her: "Senior, your magic stones are still magic stones. Earning magic stones isn't easy; they are all earned through hard work on missions, so it hurts us to see them wasted."
Upon hearing this, Elena nodded: "Byron, what you say is also true. The dishes here are made from extraordinary creatures, but such a small piece is only enough to taste."
"If you want to eat your fill, you have to go into the Dark Forest to hunt extraordinary creatures. Alright, I'll just order one more bottle of wine and that will be enough."
The Dark Forest was the forest that Byron and the others had passed through when they first entered the academy. It was vast and boundless, inhabited by many extraordinary creatures and various races, making it very dangerous.
Otherwise, the academy wouldn't have dispatched an Official Wizard to escort them.
The food and drinks were soon brought out one by one, and the three of them stopped talking and began to eat.
Among them, Colin ate the most ferociously, as if he were turning his grief and indignation into appetite.
Just then, Elena suddenly spoke up: "Hey, Byron, Colin, look over there. Is that guy Finn?"
Hearing this, Byron and Colin turned their heads to look.
At this moment, in the garden, a young man with brown hair and freckles was sitting next to a woman, grinning with a big mouth, not knowing what he was saying.
His eyes were practically glued to that woman.
Yet the woman on her face only wore an awkward but polite smile, keeping her distance while casually agreeing with the young man.
Seeing this scene, Byron couldn't help but feel a twinge of cringeworthiness.
Isn't this a textbook example of a simp in the Wizard World? It's no different from the women seen earlier surrounding the 'soft-rice' wizard.
No, it seems there is a slight difference; perhaps this woman only has Finn as her sole admirer.
However, Byron had only met this Finn a few times and was not familiar with him.
Therefore, seeing this scene, he didn't have any particular feelings.
But Colin and Elena were different; they were familiar with Finn.
So, seeing this scene again, both of them became somewhat indignant.
Just when Byron thought the two were going to go over and call Finn, they made no move and continued to eat and drink.
Seeing this, although Byron was curious, he didn't ask aloud.
But Colin saw through Byron's thoughts and explained it voluntarily.
"Byron, are you wondering why we didn't call Finn? I'll tell you a little bit, and you'll understand."
Before long, Byron understood the situation.
To summarize in one sentence: the persuasion failed, and they were bitten back instead.
And that woman is actually one of the fish in the 'soft-rice' wizard's pond, taking the things Finn gave her and passing them on to the 'soft-rice' wizard to curry favor.
Byron exclaimed, "Good grief!" He hadn't expected such things to be going on.
This has even formed an industrial chain!
Until the end of the meal, the three of them did not mention this matter again.
Looking at the drunken Elena, Byron and Colin exchanged a glance and both shook their heads with bitter smiles.
They had guessed right; it was the same as always.
"Forget it, let it be. Let's start like before."
Byron looked at Elena, who was lying on the table unconscious, and shook his head with a wry smile.
Colin had no objection to this.
Just as Byron intended to pay, he was informed that Elena had already paid.
Hearing this news, the two smiled at each other; it seemed that this time, Elena was genuinely sincere about treating them to a meal.
After carrying Elena into the restaurant's guest room, the two bid each other farewell and left.
In the days that followed, Byron's life returned to normal; he was either freeloading on free knowledge or learning new Potion Making.
Like Eliza, Byron was preparing to become an official Potion Master.
As for selling potions, the fact that he could perform Potion Making had already made the rounds with his mentor, so he didn't need to run down to sell them anymore.
He only needed to honestly sell them in the academy's shop, and the funds would be credited into his payment card.
In this way, he could openly use magic stones to purchase high-level knowledge at the apprentice level.
Moreover, through the deduction and optimization of the Eye of Omniscience, the purity of the 'deep meditation potion' that Byron concocted was significantly improved, and the price was also raised to a level not much different from the shops below.
However, the old man at the shop below, where he first started selling potions, knew nothing of what was happening here.
He still sat in the shop every day waiting for Byron to come.
He was truly waiting with bated breath, fearing that he might miss Byron if he wasn't there when he arrived.
But unfortunately, Byron had no intention of continuing, so no matter how foolishly he waited, he would never see Byron's figure again.
Time passed unconsciously for a few months.
On this day, Byron sat cross-legged in the Meditation room, and the eighteenth visualization rune in his Mental Sea quickly took shape.
The moment it was completely formed, the light spots surrounding Byron surged crazily into his body.
When the light spots disappeared, Byron suddenly opened his eyes, a smile appearing at the corners of his mouth.
"Finally, I have advanced to a Second-Rank Wizard Apprentice. I didn't expect it to take so much more time than becoming a First-Rank Wizard Apprentice. If that's the case, wouldn't becoming a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice take years?"
'Omniscience, check attributes.'
[Target: Byron Augustus]
[Age: 15]
[Physique: 10.37]
[Mental Energy: 20.17]
[Magic Power: 197]
Looking at the information displayed before him, a sense of emotion rose in Byron's heart.
'I'm fifteen now, have I been in this world for eleven months? Time flies so fast; in the blink of an eye, so much time has passed.'
His gaze moved downwards.
'Both Physique and Mental Energy have reached the Second-Rank Wizard Apprentice level following the Breakthrough in Realm. Only Magic Power needs to be diligently replenished.'
'However, with the help of potions, it won't take too much time. I can just continue to focus fully on increasing my Mental Energy, striving to improve as much as possible before participating in the mandatory mission.'
'Improving a bit more means one more chance of survival.'
Thinking of this, Byron suddenly sighed.
'It's just a pity that there isn't enough time and high-level knowledge to deduce and optimize those three Wizardry Tricks; otherwise, he wouldn't have to worry about this mission.'
'Now I can only wait until the mission ends before proceeding with the deduction and optimization. However, those three Wizardry Tricks should be enough for now, although I still need to prepare some other things as backups.'
Thinking of this, Byron got up, picked up the 'deep meditation potion' he had concocted over the past period, and walked out.
Today's gathering isn't until the afternoon, so while there is still time, Byron prepares to exchange these concocted potions for magic stones.
This way, he won't be flustered when he needs to purchase other items later.
After concealing his aura completely to match that of a First-Rank Wizard Apprentice, Byron headed toward the academy Market.
