74: Chapter 74 Speculation
After the laughter of the group subsided, Byron spoke again, asking curiously.
"President, what happened in the Desert after I left, and what method did you use to break through the brood nest so quickly and obtain the origin crystal essence?"
Having said this, Byron seemed to realize something and added with a smile, "If there are any secrets, don't feel troubled; I'm not that curious."
Dylan waved his hand with a smile. "There's no secret to it. Since you want to know, Byron, and the Materials haven't arrived yet, we have plenty of time, so I'll tell you."
Hearing this, Byron perked up his ears and looked at Dylan with a curious expression.
"After you left, we..."
Subsequently, while they were waiting, Dylan recounted the process of how they obtained the origin crystal essence.
Byron listened carefully. Although he didn't know if Dylan was hiding anything, the information he shared was enough for Byron to infer many things.
The most important among them was the pond where the origin crystal essence was located in front of the brood mother.
This gave rise to a conjecture in Byron's mind. As for whether it would result in what he imagined, he would have to wait until he verified it through an experiment before giving a definitive conclusion.
But for now, since the origin crystal essence was not yet in his hands and Dylan and the others were still present, he could only force himself to be patient.
Time passed slowly. Dylan finally finished telling the story and felt a bit parched, so he picked up the black tea placed in front of him and drank it in one gulp.
After drinking, Dylan smacked his lips. "Byron, where did you buy this black tea? The taste is quite good."
Byron smiled. "I just bought it casually in the academy's market. If you like it, President, I have some more here; take some with you later."
Dylan's eyes lit up. "That's too kind of you."
Byron waved his hand. "It's fine, it's not worth many magic stones."
He thought to himself, looking at you, you don't seem embarrassed at all.
"Hahaha, then I won't stand on ceremony."
Seeing Dylan like this, Loris and the others sitting with him felt a bit embarrassed and unconsciously shifted their seats, wanting to distance themselves from him.
Just then, Dylan seemed to remember something, slapped his forehead, and a look of embarrassment appeared on his face.
"Byron, this... that..."
Byron was puzzled in his heart, not knowing why Dylan was acting like this, but on the surface, his expression remained normal.
"President, if you have something to say, just say it directly; there's no need to be like this between us."
Dylan: "Alright then, it's about bringing you the research Materials."
"We didn't expect the operation to go so smoothly and end so quickly. Your experimental Materi..."
Byron was stunned when he heard this.
He hadn't expected Dylan to be talking about this matter. If Dylan hadn't mentioned it, he would have forgotten about it entirely.
After all, he had already received equivalent compensation. If he were to be greedy for more, it would be pushing his luck, so when Dylan mentioned it before, he just took it as polite talk and didn't take it to heart.
He didn't expect Dylan to actually remember.
Byron: "To be honest, President, if you hadn't mentioned it, I would have forgotten. After all, it was just a joke at the time, and the compensation I received is already enough."
"So, President, you don't need to feel embarrassed; let's just leave it at that."
Dylan: "That won't do. Since I promised you, I must get this done."
Seeing Byron about to speak again, Dylan waved his hand to stop him. "Alright, say no more. Just leave everything to me."
Seeing Dylan speak like this, Byron couldn't say anything more and could only nod with a wry smile.
He hadn't expected that in the treacherous Wizard World, there would still be someone like Dylan.
It really is true that one type of rice feeds a hundred types of people.
Seeing Byron nod, Dylan finally smiled.
Seeing that the two had finished talking, Ivan frowned and said, "Dylan, you guys continue chatting. I'll go see what's happening outside; the Materials haven't even been delivered yet."
Hearing Ivan's words, the others also felt a sense of doubt.
Before they arrived, they had already given orders for members to help purchase the Materials.
So much time had passed since they set out; logically, they should have been delivered long ago, but now...
Just as everyone was wondering if something had happened outside, Byron suddenly smiled and said...
"Someone is looking for us outside. Could it be that the Materials have arrived?"
Ivan looked at Byron. "Byron, don't open the Magic Array yet. I'll go out and check the situation first."
The reason he said this was entirely out of concern that other apprentices might have seen them return safely, guessed that they had obtained the origin crystal essence, and come to seize it.
Although this possibility was very small, they still had to be careful.
The others in the living room obviously thought of this situation too, and their expressions became serious.
Byron nodded and did not open the Magic Array.
Not long after Ivan walked out, Byron heard his voice calling from outside, telling Byron to open the Magic Array.
Hearing this, everyone in the living room breathed a sigh of relief, and smiles appeared on their faces again.
Not long after, Ivan walked in from outside, carrying a large bag of items.
"There were a few Materials that were in short supply. They had to run to several shops to buy them all, which is why it took some time."
Upon hearing Ivan's explanation, the others didn't say much.
As Ivan spoke, he placed the Materials in his hand in front of Byron.
At the same time, Dylan stood up and handed the three fist-sized origin crystal essence pieces to Byron.
"Byron, the Potion Making of the mental power qualitative change potion is in your hands now."
"Just focus on the brewing. While you are engaged in Potion Making, the three of us will stay outside. We certainly won't let anyone disturb you, including ourselves."
Byron took the origin crystal essence. As soon as it touched his hand, he felt a cool and moist sensation.
It felt as if it had just been scooped out of that silver-white pond.
"I'll leave the rest to you, President."
Dylan and the others waved their hands with smiles, said nothing, and turned to walk outside.
Elena, as she was leaving, smiled and patted Byron on the shoulder. "Good luck, Byron; I believe you can do it."
Byron nodded with a smile.
Seeing everyone leave, Byron reactivated the Magic Array, closed the door, and walked towards the Laboratory with the Materials.
As for Dylan and the others, Elena did not stay long; after saying goodbye, she turned and left.
Dylan and Loris walked into a residence located next to Byron's, which they had rented long ago, to take turns monitoring the movement outside.
As for Ivan, he circled around Byron's residence before entering it.
In the Laboratory, Byron placed the large bag of Materials on the table, but he didn't rush to start processing the Materials or begin Potion Making.
Instead, with a burning gaze, he picked up a piece of origin crystal essence and took out a small knife to gently scrape the residual liquid on it.
Not long after, after Byron put down the last piece of origin crystal essence, he had a test tube filled with silver-white liquid in his hand.
Shaking the silver-white liquid in the test tube, Byron used a dropper to take a small drop and placed it on a glass slide.
Afterwards, he took out some of the crystallized bodily tissues and placed them on top, finally putting it under a high-end microscope to observe carefully.
