57: Chapter 57 Departure

As soon as these words were spoken, Dylan also noticed the inquisitive gaze Loris was directing at him, and his heart sank.

This commotion was hardly his doing; it was Byron's. He had just been standing on the sidelines watching the show.

How could he not understand what Loris meant? Yet, he himself wanted to know as well.

However, if it were him, he certainly wouldn't reveal such secretive methods, so how could he have the nerve to ask Byron?

As for exposing it, that was even more impossible.

He had already promised to help Byron keep it a secret; how could he turn around and sell him out?

Therefore, he could only endure Loris's curious gaze, flash a mysterious smile, and slowly shake his head.

Seeing Dylan in this state, Loris curled her lip in disdain, but she didn't ask anything further.

Seeing this, Byron nodded in satisfaction.

As time passed, the commotion below grew increasingly faint until it fell back into dead silence.

At this moment, apart from the piles of Wizard Apprentice corpses intermingled with the bodies of the Worm Race, the most conspicuous sight on the ground was a small stream formed by scarlet blood.

Seeing this scene, Dylan closed his eyes slightly.

After a few seconds, he slowly opened his eyes, smiled, and shook his head: "It has all been cleared away; there are no survivors."

Hearing Dylan's words, Loris nodded without speaking.

It seemed she was already accustomed to such scenes, as she didn't show the slightest bit of abnormality.

Loris: "So, should we take Byron to rendezvous with the main force now, or continue waiting here for Ivan?"

After pondering for a moment, Dylan spoke: "Let's take Byron to rendezvous with the main force first. Byron cannot suffer the slightest harm."

"As for Ivan, since he hasn't sent us a message, it means he can still handle the situation around him, so there's no need to worry too much."

Loris nodded, indicating she understood.

Subsequently, Dylan and Loris took Byron and flew toward the location of the main force.

Not long after, the three of them arrived at the place where the main force was currently stationed.

Several tents stood closely together on the wilderness, and several iron four-wheeled carts were piled high with supplies.

Glowing crystal balls were placed around the camp to illuminate the darkness, making the entire encampment brightly lit.

The two people on night watch also discovered the presence of Dylan and the others. After confirming it was Dylan and his group, they lowered their guard and went up to welcome them with smiles.

The people resting in the tents heard the commotion and emerged one after another, greeting the three of them with smiles.

Although it was called the main force, there were only eight people in total.

Byron's senior sister and senior brother, Elena and Colin, were also among them.

Byron smiled and greeted the two before walking over to them.

Seeing that Byron had returned safely, Elena and Colin also smiled.

Colin asked in a low voice: "How is the situation? Did those organizations in the Wizard Settlement discover our tracks?"

Byron smiled and shook his head: "They must have focused all their energy on me and didn't notice your movements."

"Furthermore, on our way here, we didn't discover any traces of other Wizard Apprentices."

While the three of them were splitting up to attract the attention of those organizations, the Sun-Fallen Wizard Apprentice Council also took the supplies prepared over the past few days and slipped away secretly.

Hearing Byron's words, Colin breathed a sigh of relief: "It's good that they weren't discovered. If they had been, all these preparations would have been in vain."

Colin was hoping to make a name for himself during this council operation, accumulate contributions, and prepare for becoming a Limit Wizard Apprentice in the future.

If this operation were discovered, it would have to be canceled. After working so hard for so long, he would only end up with scraps, so how could he be content with that?

Elena, however, said indifferently: "So what if they discovered us? Wouldn't it be fine to just kill all the tails following us?"

Facing Elena's words, Byron and Colin had no rebuttal.

For some reason, they both felt that what Elena said made sense, but they also felt something was slightly off.

On the other side, the other members were also asking Dylan and Loris about the situation.

After all, whether this operation succeeded or not concerned their own interests, so no one could afford to be indifferent.

Dylan explained a few things casually to appease everyone and didn't say much more, whereas Loris was the opposite of Dylan.

Faced with everyone's questions, she told them everything she knew, although in the process, she kept inflating her own contribution.

Facing this situation, Dylan was happy to see it happen and stood to the side, watching the scene with a smile.

However, the worry that occasionally appeared in his eyes when he looked into the night sky clearly indicated that his heart was not as relaxed as he appeared.

Although there were many Third-Rank Wizard Apprentices present, dealing with the brood mother mainly relied on the three of them—the Limit Wizard Apprentices. If one person were absent, the impact would be significant.

However, facts proved that Dylan's worries were superfluous.

Because just at this moment, a streak of light suddenly flashed across the pitch-black horizon.

The next moment, that streak of light descended and landed in the camp.

If this person wasn't Ivan, then who else could it be?

Seeing that Ivan had no other abnormalities besides looking a bit exhausted, Dylan finally put his mind at ease and took the initiative to go up and ask with concern.

"How is it? Are you okay?"

Ivan still had that deadpan look, with not a trace of expression, and his voice lacked any fluctuation.

"Rest assured. Since I had the confidence to choose to appear last, I certainly had everything under control."

"Although there was a small accident on the way that delayed some time, the final result proved that my calculations were correct."

Dylan: "Alright, since you are unharmed, I am completely relieved. Go back and rest; the road ahead is still very long."

Ivan didn't speak, just nodded silently.

Subsequently, under Dylan's instructions, the others also returned to their posts—those who needed to rest rested, and those who needed to keep watch kept watch.

The night passed without incident.

Early the next morning, the people in the camp divided into several teams and began making preparations for departure in an orderly manner.

One team held alchemy dust in their hands and sprinkled it all over the people in the camp and the cargo carts.

This type of alchemy dust was in the form of a white powder that could actively adhere to people's bodies, absorbing the vibrations produced by people and making it impossible for the Worm Race to detect them.

This was also the type of alchemy product Eliza and her group used when they went out to explore.

Another team started packing up the tents and erasing their traces to avoid being detected by others.

And the last team dismantled the Magic Array that shrouded the entire camp, which served to contain energy fluctuations and eliminate vibrations.

After everything was done and re-checked to ensure there were no omissions, Dylan and the others, led by Byron, headed toward the depths of the wilderness, with the destination naturally being the Desert Forbidden Zone.

Just as the Sun-Fallen Council members were setting off, on the other side, someone discovered the slaughterhouse more than ten kilometers outside the settlement.

When the images and news of the slaughterhouse were transmitted back to the Wizard Settlement, not only were the Wizard Apprentices of those organizations silenced, but the other Wizard Apprentices who were still in the settlement and had not joined any organizations also fell into silence.

Following that silence was the uproar of the entire settlement, and the name of the Fallen Sun Council resounded throughout the entire place.

However, within the Hand of Shadows base, while other organizations were plunged into silence, laughter erupted here.

"Hahaha, how about that? Do you still question the decision I made? If we had acted according to your plans, how many of you would still be standing here talking to me right now?!"

The gloomy young man laughed and looked around. The other personnel participating in the meeting lowered their heads and remained silent when faced with his gaze.

Seeing this, the gloomy young man did not push his luck too far. After ordering everyone to continue searching for the other two brood mothers, he let them leave.

Sitting alone in the basement, the gloomy young man smiled and muttered to himself: "Dylan, this is more like you."

"You really are still the same; you haven't changed. In this way, I can finally rest easy. However, I really do owe you a favor this time."

At the same time, in a bungalow within the Wizard Settlement, Knus, who had only woken up from the blow of his coma a few days ago, heard this news.

First, his expression changed constantly, and then, after letting out a loud cry, he rolled his eyes again, collapsed to the ground, and passed out.
