23: Chapter 23 Success

Not long after, Byron slowly opened his eyes, a flash of sharp light passing through them.

From extracting essences, Fusion, to stabilizing the entire Potion Making process, all the difficulties and points requiring attention had been analyzed and deduced by the Eye of Omniscience.

Byron did not delay any further; he picked up the processed Materials and began the experiment.

This time, Byron did not carefully measure the weight of the Materials using a scale as he had done before.

Instead, just like Isolde, he boldly pinched a pinch of powder with his fingers and tossed it into the beaker.

The moment the twilight herb powder entered the beaker, his other hand began to stir with a glass rod.

Everything was so natural and fluid, as if Byron had experienced all of this countless times and knew it by heart.

Afterward, whether it was adding the glowing crystal sand or the involvement of Mental Energy, everything was just right—neither too slow nor too fast.

After removing the separated waste residue from the cup with a dropper, a portion of twilight herb essence appeared on the Laboratory bench.

Byron didn't spare it another glance and continued with the purification of the other Materials.

Before long, the essences of various different Materials had been extracted and were placed before Byron.

Byron looked at the four beakers containing different colors in front of him, his expression remaining calm, and began to mix them in sequence, stirring continuously.

"Temperature is appropriate, the order is correct, the proportions are precise... Now, it is time for the final step."

Byron stared at the liquid swirling in the beaker, picked up a dropper, hovered it directly above the beaker, and gently squeezed out a drop.

The moment the pale yellow purified glow dew dripped into the beaker, his Mental Energy followed immediately.

The next moment, the medicinal liquid in the beaker reorganized amidst the vibration and finally stabilized, presenting a pure, flawless silvery-white liquid.

Seeing this, Byron poured the liquid into a test tube and plugged it with a wooden stopper.

After finishing all this, Byron held the brilliant silvery-white liquid up to the light, a smile appearing on his face.

"The 'deep meditation potion', has finally been successfully concocted."

"A single portion of this potion sells for at least five magic stones in the Market, while purchasing the Materials for one batch costs six magic stones, but one batch of Materials can produce up to ten portions of the potion."

"In other words, as long as I successfully concoct one portion of the potion from one batch of Materials, the rest is pure profit."

"This is truly a huge profit. No wonder so many people want to learn Potionology; not only can they satisfy their own needs, but they can also obtain magic stones."

'Omniscience, help me analyze the purity of this potion.'

Byron did not indulge in the success for too long and quickly sobered up.

He wanted to know how much the potion in his hand was actually worth, and this was related to the purity of the potion.

For the same type of potion, the higher the purity, the higher the value.

High-purity potions have less residue, have less impact on the body, and can even be taken multiple times in a short period.

[Analysis complete.]

[Target: deep meditation potion]

[Purity: 92.3%]

[Status: Stable]

Byron nodded with satisfaction; this purity was not bad.

For a potion to be considered successful, its purity must exceed ninety percent.

The one in Byron's hand now exceeded the baseline by more than two percent, which could indeed be considered quite good.

However, if it could be further optimized...

Thinking of this, Byron said: 'Omniscience, continue to deduce the Potion Making process and optimize the potion's purity.'

[Deducing, estimated time: 271 hours 35 minutes 19 seconds]

The time was acceptable, so he would let it continue the deduction.

Byron continued to concoct potions; after all, he still had the energy and so many portions of Materials left, so he couldn't waste them.

These were all magic stones!

After a night passed, Byron walked out of the basement, looking extremely haggard, his spirit somewhat withered, as if he hadn't slept for several days.

At this moment, his brows were slightly furrowed, as if he were contemplating something.

However, Byron's harvest was also huge; that night he concocted a total of five tubes of deep meditation potion, spending thirteen portions of Materials and failing eight times.

Most of these eight failures were concentrated in the later concoctions.

After all, Potion Making requires the involvement of Mental Energy and cannot tolerate any carelessness.

By the time he reached the end, his Mental Energy couldn't keep up, leading to minor errors that caused all his efforts to fall short at the last moment.

Realizing this situation, Byron did not continue, deciding to stop decisively to avoid wasting more Materials.

This Potion Making was just like Meditation; both had a limit.

One could only concoct so much every day; it was impossible to do so endlessly.

In this way, under the same expenditure of energy, concocting higher-level potions would be more cost-effective.

However, Byron was not thinking about this issue now, but rather another one.

That was, how to exchange these concocted potions for magic stones.

Going directly to the academy's Market to sell them was definitely not an option; it would be very easy to get exposed.

Being able to successfully concoct potions just over a month after starting was too abnormal.

This could no longer be described as being a Genius; one look and anyone would know there was definitely something wrong here.

Therefore, if he wanted to avoid trouble and not attract attention, he absolutely could not sell them at the academy's Market.

Then where should he go...

Suddenly, Byron thought of a place.

That was the Basin underneath the academy.

That place was composed of wilderness wizards and low-level wizard Families, a mix of good and bad people, and selling potions in small batches there would likely not attract attention.

And even if it did attract someone's attention, as long as he wasn't directly exposed, he would have the chance to return to the academy and disappear completely.

In that case, with the academy as a shield, there wouldn't be any problems.

Thinking of this, a smile appeared on Byron's face.

However, this was just a concept; whether to actually do this and how to do it, all of this still needed to be considered slowly.

Anyway, he wasn't short of magic stones right now and could hold on for a while longer, so there was no need to rush.

As for when he could normally sell potions, according to Byron's estimate, it might take a few more months, after passing it by Isolde.

And this was only because he was Isolde's student; otherwise, he would have to hide it for even longer.

However, no matter what he chose, he had to go clean the mentor's Laboratory now.

...

A few days passed, and the day for the three of them—Byron and his friends—to gather arrived.

In the first-floor hall of Eliza's dormitory, the black tea was warm, and its fragrance drifted lightly.

At this moment, Byron, Gray, and Eliza sat opposite each other, tasting the black tea in their cups together.

After finishing the black tea in his cup, Gray slumped on the sofa, letting out a satisfied sigh.

"It's so comfortable. I'm afraid this is the most comfortable day of the month; not only is there black tea to drink, but there's also such a comfortable sofa to lie on."

"It's still you, Eliza, and Byron who have it comfortable, being able to live in such a nice place every day. Unlike me, who can only live in that simple stone house."

Gray squinted his eyes comfortably and sighed with emotion.

Byron jokingly teased: "Gray, if you like this sofa, you can move it back. I believe Eliza definitely won't mind."

Eliza rolled her eyes at Byron, but smiled and nodded at Gray.

Gray shook his head repeatedly: "Forget it, my place is too small; if I put this sofa down, I won't be able to move around."

"Besides, I can't stay in my dormitory for very long every day; wouldn't it be a waste to put such a good thing there?"

As he spoke, a wry smile also appeared on Gray's face.

Eliza also knew about Gray's current situation, sighed, and didn't say anything more.

And at this moment, she also felt a sense of empathy for him.

In the past, when they were still in the Calancia Kingdom, Gray would never have cared about these things.

But now...

None of the three spoke again, and they fell into silence.
