28: Chapter 28 Selling
Just like that, Byron followed the flow of people, looking at the stalls one by one until he reached the end of the Market.
After looking at the last stall, Byron had a look of disappointment in his eyes and shook his head slightly.
Novels are all deceptive; where would such things as finding a bargain actually happen? It even forced him to use the Eye of Omniscience to scan them one by one, and they were all trash.
However, that might not be right to say either; perhaps it was trash to him, but to these people, it might be a treasure.
But having spent so much time, it wasn't as if Byron had no gains at all.
From the conversations, he found the place he needed: a shop that sold potions.
Actually, selling through stalls wasn't impossible, but that was a last resort.
After all, if he sold through stalls, on one hand, it would be too eye-catching and inconsistent with his low-profile persona.
On the other hand, the speed of selling this way was too slow; he couldn't get in and out quickly, and it was prone to unexpected accidents.
Therefore, setting his sights on those shops was his best current option.
However, Byron did not go to that shop immediately; instead, he wandered around for a while longer before strolling over.
Arriving in front of the shop, a huge wooden board stood at the entrance, with "Aier Potion Shop" written on it.
However, the situation inside the shop was beyond Byron's expectations; it was even more deserted than he had imagined.
Besides the two shop apprentices, there were only two or three people casually looking at the potions displayed in the shop.
The types of potions displayed were only a few, and most of them were the kind that helped mercenaries in combat.
And looking at their appearance, Byron felt that the possibility of them buying anything was not very high.
This sight made Byron wonder if this shop could even handle so many of his potions.
However, since he was already here, he had to go in and take a look; otherwise, wouldn't it be a wasted trip?
Byron walked into the shop without stating his intentions directly, and just like the other customers, he began to wander around the shop.
And with that, the two apprentices only glanced up at Byron, after which they paid him no more attention, assuming he was just coming in to take a look.
As time slowly passed, Byron was the only one left in the shop.
Seeing this, Byron did not continue to delay and walked straight towards one of the young-looking apprentices.
Seeing this, the young apprentice thought business had arrived; a brilliant smile appeared on his face, and he took the initiative to step forward and greet him.
"Hello, respected Wizard, which kind of potion do you need? All the potions in our shop are brewed by the respected Wizard Aiser."
"They are completely different from the potions sold by those wandering wizards outside; we guarantee you will use them with peace of mind and confidence."
Seeing this young apprentice selling so hard, Byron felt a little embarrassed to interrupt him.
However, a dream is a dream after all, and there will always be a day when it shatters.
Byron interrupted him: "Excuse me, let me interrupt for a moment; I am not here to buy potions."
Once these words were spoken, the young apprentice was stunned at first, and then his eyes gradually turned red, as if he were about to cry.
The other burly apprentice also spoke up at this moment to defend him: "Since you aren't buying potions, why did you walk over? Aren't you just bullying people? You hurry..."
Just at this moment, an old voice suddenly sounded from the back of the shop: "Moro, a customer has arrived; how can you drive them away? Hurry up and apologize to the customer."
An old man with white hair, but who looked very spirited, walked out.
"I apologize, customer. If my apprentice did something wrong just now, I will apologize to you on his behalf. Are you going to buy potions? I will give you a twenty percent discount as an apology. Do you think that is acceptable?"
Hearing this, before Byron could say anything, the burly apprentice got anxious and wanted to explain something.
But before he could speak, he was glared back by the old man, so he didn't say anything and stood to the side, looking aggrieved.
As for the young apprentice, he had long been scared into shrinking to the side, not daring to say much.
How could Byron hold a grudge against a child? Moreover, he had other purposes for coming here, so naturally, he couldn't make the relationship too tense.
Therefore, he smiled and waved his hand, explaining what had just happened, asking the old man not to blame the apprentice.
Once these words were spoken, the two apprentices felt a few traces of goodwill towards Byron in their hearts.
The old man said: "So that was it; it was I who misunderstood you."
After comforting the apprentice, the old man looked at Byron again: "Since you are not buying potions, what is the matter that brings you here?"
Byron glanced outside, and seeing no one was paying attention, he said: "I am here to sell potions."
As he spoke, Byron took out the potions he had brewed and handed them to the old man.
Hearing Byron's words, a flash of indifference flickered in the old man's eyes.
But when he saw the potion in Byron's hand, his eyes suddenly widened, staring fixedly at that vial of potion.
Seeing Byron handing it to him, he hurriedly reached out to take it, and took out a precise, magnifying glass-like object from his sleeve, examining it carefully.
The two apprentices, who had originally looked disdainful, saw the old man treating it with such care and also looked at Byron with expressions of disbelief.
Seeing this, Byron was not worried.
After all, a Third-Rank Wizard Apprentice, whose Mental Energy was worse than his, could not stir up any trouble.
Even if they could stir up trouble, Byron was confident he could escape back to the academy.
As for whether the old man would see through the details of this potion, Byron was not worried.
After all, the formula for this deep meditation potion was also sold in the academy; it wasn't just Byron and Isolde who knew it.
After a while, Byron spoke: "Boss, how is it?"
Upon hearing this, the old man came to his senses and hurriedly returned the potion.
"I am truly sorry; I was momentarily mesmerized. I didn't expect you to be able to brew a potion that assists with Meditation, and with such purity—it truly makes me admire you."
Byron ignored the old man's flattery: "Boss, can we talk about the price now?"
Seeing that Byron was not falling for it, the old man did not show any abnormality: "Customer, how about we go to the back to discuss in detail?"
Byron refused very decisively: "Let's talk right here. You name a price; if I can accept it, then we have a deal. If not, I will turn around and leave, and there's no need to say anything else."
"After all, this Market is not the only place where one can sell potions."
If it were to go to the back, Byron wasn't bold enough for that; who knew if there were any tricks behind it.
The old man's expression changed slightly; he did not reply immediately, but after thinking for a while, he spoke.
"Before answering this question, may I know how many more such potions you have in your possession?"
Speaking of this, the old man hurriedly added: "Of the same purity."
Byron answered calmly: "Twelve vials of the same potion, with purity only higher, not lower."
Once these words were spoken, Byron could clearly detect the joy and excitement in the old man's eyes, although he was trying his best to suppress it.
Byron did not let the old man think for too long, pressing his advantage: "Boss, have you decided? If you haven't, then I will go take a look elsewhere first, and you can think slowly?"
As he spoke, Byron made a gesture of turning and walking outside.
"Wait!" The old man got anxious upon hearing this and hurriedly called out.
Seeing the old man like this, Byron stopped his steps and looked at the old man again.
Seeing this, the old man, fearing that Byron would leave, gritted his teeth and said: "If they are really all such potions, I am willing to buy them at the price of seven Magic Stones each."
