104: Do one job?
“Should we do a job, motherf***er?” Qin Manyang's eyes gleamed with excitement.
Xu Sanyan curled his lip. How long had it been since he heard such familiar words? The last time was when he was a bandit in the Northwest Gobi.
“There’s no need, right? He doesn’t seem to have anything good,” Xu Sanyan said, somewhat doubtfully. He didn’t see how this person could have any treasures.
“Heh, you’re an amateur, aren’t you? These are good things,” Qin Manyang said, licking her red lips and pointing at the zombies.
Xu Sanyan muttered to himself, 'When it comes to robbing, I’ve become the amateur?'
“Do you see those zombies? Those are good Materials for making Puppets. Corpse Walkers spend countless efforts and Spirit Medicine to raise them. Rich people love those the most! If we sell them, it’ll be at least this much!”
Qin Manyang held up two fingers.
“Two hundred?” Xu Sanyan asked hesitantly.
“Two thousand!” Qin Manyang’s eyes sparkled.
“Whoa!” Xu Sanyan immediately became interested, then quickly realized, “Then why did you want to buy my hairpin for thirty Spirit Stones earlier?”
He didn't know much about the value of Spirit Stones, but he felt that thirty Spirit Stones were too little. Only now did he realize how ridiculously small that amount was.
Qin Manyang forcefully changed the subject, “Hehe, let’s not talk about that. Later, you’ll tie up those few zombies, and I’ll deal with the Corpse Walker. Be careful not to damage the corpses.”
“What Cultivation level can you tell he is?” Xu Sanyan asked suspiciously.
“He should be around Foundation Establishment Completion, and those zombies probably have the strength of mid-stage Foundation Establishment,” Qin Manyang whispered.
“That high?” Xu Sanyan was surprised. Just casually encountering someone, and they have the strength of Foundation Establishment Completion?
“How did you tell?” Xu Sanyan asked again.
“Huh? Don't you know Qi Observation Art?” Qin Manyang turned her head in surprise.
Xu Sanyan had never even heard of it. “Uh… is Qi Observation Art very common?”
“I’ll teach you after we’re done!”
Qin Manyang patted her chest generously. Xu Sanyan glanced at her, really wanting to advise her not to pat it anymore; it was already small, and it might cave in if she kept patting.
“After it’s done, I get six, you get four. No problem, right?” Qin Manyang asked Xu Sanyan.
“No problem.”
The two conspired together, hitting it off instantly, and immediately began to act.
Qin Manyang made the first move. The bell in her hand rapidly expanded, quickly covering the third zombie.
The Corpse Walker sensed danger, and all eight zombies stiffly turned their heads at the same time. Their pale faces showed no signs of life, and their exposed fangs were still stained with traces of blood, looking exceptionally horrifying.
The eight corpses scattered in an instant, their gazes simultaneously falling on Xu Sanyan and Qin Manyang, and they rushed over at an extremely fast speed.
“Hurry up, it’s your turn! Remember not to damage them,” Qin Manyang loudly instructed.
Xu Sanyan slowly nodded, looking at the rapidly approaching zombies. There was no worry on his face, only a surge of bloody red mist that enveloped him.
In an instant, a figure a zhang tall burst out of the red mist, its sturdy body naked, four arms clenched into fists, directly meeting the attack.
While controlling the bell to entangle the Corpse Walker, Qin Manyang still had time to glance at Xu Sanyan, her gaze wandering, and she quietly swallowed her saliva.
On the other side, Xu Sanyan made direct contact with the zombies. Although the zombies' limbs were stiff, it did not affect their combat. Their dark fingers were like sharp blades, stabbing directly at Xu Sanyan's abdomen.
“Crack!”
Xu Sanyan suddenly grabbed the incoming hand and twisted it hard. With a crisp sound, the arm immediately broke.
Qin Manyang at his side immediately became anxious, “Hey, be careful! If you damage them, they won’t be worth anything.”
Xu Sanyan curled his lip, “I’m not ‘hey’.”
Qin Manyang, of course, didn't understand the joke and shouted, “You just need to entangle them, don’t hit them.”
Xu Sanyan silently nodded. These few zombies posed little threat to him, so he fought them while looking to the other side.
He saw that the Corpse Walker's knees seemed unable to bend, and his movements appeared very stiff, possibly due to his Cultivation Technique.
Although his limbs were stiff, his speed was not slow, and he managed to narrowly dodge the bell every time.
The Corpse Walker's face was expressionless, but Xu Sanyan still sensed his impatience. This kind of battle, where he could only passively defend, made him very frustrated.
Several times, the Corpse Walker tried to rush towards Qin Manyang, but was blocked by the bell, only able to dodge clumsily.
Qin Manyang had a smile on her lips, her face full of triumph.
“Aow~!”
Seeing this, the Corpse Walker became even more furious, roaring towards the sky. A dead Qi emerged from his dark eyes, and black mist rose around him, carrying a strong, foul stench.
Xu Sanyan looked sideways. The black mist quickly dispersed, revealing a giant zombie, nearly two zhang tall, even taller than Xu Sanyan.
His robes were torn, hanging on his body in shreds of cloth. His pale face was covered in pits, looking as if it had been gnawed by insects, which was very disgusting.
A pair of fangs appeared even sharper, and when he opened his mouth, a foul wind was expelled, the stench noticeable from a distance.
Xu Sanyan was curious how Qin Manyang would solve this. This zombie now looked even bigger than the bell; it wouldn't be able to cover it.
Qin Manyang, however, was not in a hurry. She even glanced at their crotches, silently comparing them in her mind, and finally nodded at Xu Sanyan, indicating approval.
Xu Sanyan looked at her inexplicably nodding at him, feeling a bit confused.
“Evil creature, you disregard human life and slaughter the common people! Today, this Young Miss shall act on behalf of the Dao and eliminate you, this evil creature!” Qin Manyang shouted righteously, though it was unclear who she was speaking to.
Xu Sanyan slapped away an incoming zombie, and hearing her, he couldn't help but twitch his lips. The idea of robbing was yours, and there are no outsiders here, so there's no need to act, is there?
“Aow!”
The Corpse Walker seemed unable to speak, only letting out an angry roar to vent his hatred. His tall figure quickly rushed towards Qin Manyang.
“It seems I need to show some real skill today…”
Qin Manyang gritted her teeth and pulled out a mirror engraved with red patterns from her cloth bag. She bit her finger and smeared something on it.
Seeing the zombie close at hand, Xu Sanyan’s eyes flickered, but he did not intervene to save her. He believed Qin Manyang definitely had other means, and this was a good opportunity to probe her trump cards.
As expected, the zombie’s huge palm heavily struck down. At this moment, Qin Manyang had also finished drawing. She pointed the mirror towards the zombie and roared, “Soul Enchantment!”
The zombie’s eyes suddenly became dazed, and its palm fell heavily with inertia, stirring up a cloud of dust.
When the dust settled, Xu Sanyan saw that Qin Manyang had already moved far away at some point. The giant bell expanded again, instantly enveloping the zombie.
“Hoo…” Qin Manyang let out a long sigh of relief.
Xu Sanyan glanced at the surrounding zombies and suddenly noticed something unusual.
Previously, these seven zombies, though able to move, had dull eyes, clearly indicating they were inanimate. But looking again now, one of them had a noticeably more agile expression.
Xu Sanyan realized something and shouted at the top of his lungs, “Quickly open the bell!”
“Why?”
Although Qin Manyang didn't understand, she trusted that Xu Sanyan wouldn't make a baseless request, so she obediently opened the bell, and immediately a look of astonishment flashed across her face.
