394: Daddy is coming

Xu Sanyan feigned being blown away by the Qi wave, losing his footing and tumbling down the mountain.

The Grand Elder had no time to spare for him, staring intently at Chen Yunzi's Physical Body, his eyes filled with intense greed.

What a resilient Physical Body it was, enduring his attack without a scratch.

If Chen Yunzi hadn't previously killed the Ghost Beast and consumed a large amount of magical power protecting the Sect, he alone might not have been Chen Yunzi's match.

But now, it was hard to say; even a He Dao Realm cultivator could exhaust their magical power, let alone someone who had already expended a great deal of mental energy. Considering all factors, the advantage was mine!

Moreover, he still had a trump card...

The Grand Elder's thoughts raced, then settled. He looked at Chen Yunzi and issued his final ultimatum:

"Hand over the tan milk, and you can leave to establish your own Sect elsewhere. Otherwise, the Xuanku Mountain's centuries-old foundation will be destroyed by your hands."

"Heh, you thieves of the Wang family are insatiably greedy, coveting my Sect's most precious treasure, yet you still have the audacity to utter such ridiculous words."

Chen Yunzi's face showed mockery. This tan milk was the very foundation of Xuanku Mountain's establishment. If he surrendered it, he would have no face to meet the Ancestral Masters.

He had long known that the Wang family coveted the tan milk, but he never expected them to be so shameless, actually launching a sneak attack during a calamity, completely devoid of the demeanor of a great clan.

Who knows which son of a bitch came up with such a despicable idea!

Chen Yunzi's heart sank. Though he appeared calm on the surface, he wasn't entirely confident of victory. It was a pity that the tan milk was naturally formed and couldn't be moved; otherwise, he would have relocated it long ago, sparing himself the trouble of living next to venomous snakes.

"Since you are so obstinate, then don't blame this old man for being ruthless."

The Grand Elder said no more and immediately mobilized the magical power throughout his body. Brilliant golden light shot straight into the sky.

Chen Yunzi's figure flickered instantly, launching a fierce assault. Purple light shimmered beside him, and his divine sword seemed to possess a spirit.

Xu Sanyan, hiding down the mountain, tilted his head. He looked at the shimmering light above, then glanced at the depths of the back mountain. After a moment's thought, he swept towards the back of the mountain.

He would scout ahead.

At this moment, with both sides locked in a fierce battle, no one paid attention to Xu Sanyan's movements, allowing him to easily reach the front of the main hall.

The core area of Xuanku Mountain was currently empty. The grand Ancestor Hall stood in the center, flanked by several smaller pavilions whose purpose was unknown.

Just then, a clear child's voice came from within the Ancestor Hall, "Mom, why isn't Daddy back yet?"

"Shh, don't talk. Daddy will be back soon," the woman whispered, coaxing the child.

"Oh~"

Though their voices were low, they didn't escape Xu Sanyan's ears. He raised an eyebrow, a slight smile playing on his lips, and stepped over the threshold.

"Tap~ Tap~ Tap~"

His shoes made clear sounds on the tiled floor. Xu Sanyan made no attempt to hide his footsteps, walking slowly inside.

A dozen or so prayer mats were laid out on the floor. Directly in front of the mats was a majestic stone statue, likely one of Xuanku Mountain's Ancestral Masters.

The voices of the mother and child had come from behind the statue.

"Tap~ Tap~"

Xu Sanyan kicked aside a prayer mat and slowly approached. The child seemed to have heard something and said with a hint of excitement, "Mom, is that Daddy...?"

Before he could finish, his words were cut off. It must have been the mother covering his mouth.

She knew it definitely wasn't the child's father. If it were, he would have spoken up immediately and wouldn't have scared them like this.

Xu Sanyan lowered his voice, chuckling strangely, "Make sure you hide well, Daddy's coming to find you~"

"Wuwu~" The child seemed to be struggling against his mother's hand.

Xu Sanyan chuckled, "Where are you hiding?"

"Here?"

"Oh, not here, then..."

"Must be here!"

"Oh, not here either. Then could it be...?"

"Hiding here...?"

His voice drew closer and closer to the mother and child's hiding place, putting immense psychological pressure on them.

"Tap~"

With the last step, the footsteps stopped, and the strange tone disappeared.

The woman behind the statue was filled with dread. Hearing the silence outside, she bravely poked her head out from behind the statue to glance around. Her heart immediately relaxed; there was no one in the hall, only the scattered prayer mats that had been kicked aside.

Everything that had just happened seemed like an illusion.

"Are you looking for me?"

The teasing voice came from behind the woman, instantly startling her and throwing her into disarray. She spun around abruptly, only to see a handsome young man standing behind the child, a large hand gently stroking the child's head.

The child's eyes were filled with terror, as if he sensed danger. He didn't dare utter a sound, his eyes brimming with tears, his body trembling like a sieve.

The usually mischievous child was now as docile as a quail. He also understood that in the past, being mischievous at most meant a beating, but now, being mischievous would mean he would never get a beating again.

The woman's pupils widened, her heart instantly leaping to her throat. She hadn't even noticed when this person had appeared behind her.

For her Foundation Establishment Completion cultivation to be completely unaware, this person must at least be in the Mi Dao Realm.

And he was definitely not a Disciple of Xuanku Mountain. Xuanku Mountain was neither too big nor too small; all Disciples, even if not recognized by name, were at least familiar by face, but this person was absolutely not among them.

"Who... are you?"

The woman clutched the child's hand, her gaze fixed on Xu Sanyan's palm. She desperately wanted to pull the child into her embrace but dared not make any movement, fearing she might provoke him.

"Me, well..."

Xu Sanyan looked the woman up and down, his gaze lingering for a moment on her prominent bosom, then moving to her pretty face. He answered with a question instead:

"Whose wife are you?"

Seeing that he could communicate, the woman quickly said, "This humble one is Zhang Niushi, and my husband is Daoist Chengxuan."

Xu Sanyan shook his head, having never heard of him, but he didn't care. He said indifferently, "I ask, you answer, understood?"

...Understood.

The woman knew that circumstances were against her. At this moment, the lives of her and her child were in this person's hands, and they had no room to refuse.

"Where is the tan milk hidden?"

The woman's heart jolted. She immediately understood this person's objective. Her mind raced, and slowly, an idea for escape formed.

"In the back mountain, inside a cave."

"Take me there."

Xu Sanyan nodded, picked up the child, and walked out. The woman quickly followed, pleading, "Immortal Master, could you please return my child? My child and I are powerless and have no other intentions. We will fully cooperate with Immortal Master."

"Heh heh~"

Xu Sanyan smiled and shook his head. With a thought, a talisman materialized in the Void Realm and instantly imprinted itself on the woman's forehead.

He hadn't wanted to bother, but for safety's sake, it was better to be a little troublesome.

The woman paused, her eyes filled with confusion, and she mechanically took the child.

"Let's go. Take me to find the tan milk."

"Yes."

The woman walked blankly towards the back mountain. The child in her arms vaguely felt uneasy. He was still young, in his Ignorance, yet he vaguely understood some things.

He felt that his mother seemed different, but he couldn't pinpoint how. However, the feeling she gave him...

Was similar to the doll his father had carved for him.
