210: Heavenly way...human way

Cui Yousheng's forehead broke out in a cold sweat, his eyes flickering erratically. How could he look? How dared he look? How could he possibly look?

Hadn't this matter already passed?

He had personally sent the Cui Family's juniors to Xu Sanyan to be killed; what more did Xu Sanyan want from him?

Did he have to die himself for Xu Sanyan to feel at ease?

Cui Yousheng abruptly paused at this thought…

Damn it, could he have guessed correctly?

He secretly raised his eyelids and glanced, finding Xu Sanyan looking at him with an inscrutable smile, which filled his heart with unease.

“Brother Xu… Brother Xu, hasn’t this matter already passed? Although my surname is Cui, I have long since had no ties with the Cui Family. If… if Brother Xu minds, I will change my surname right now and completely sever all ties with the Cui Family from now on.”

Cui Yousheng observed Xu Sanyan’s expression as he spoke.

“Ah, Brother Cui, what are you saying? I was just asking casually.” Xu Sanyan waved his hand magnanimously, as if he were the one whose family had been exterminated.

“Phew… It’s good that Brother Xu doesn’t hold a grudge.” Cui Yousheng lightly wiped the cold sweat from his forehead.

“Brother Cui, if you have something to attend to, please go ahead.” Xu Sanyan gave the order to dismiss him.

Cui Yousheng quickly stood up, letting out a long sigh of relief in his heart. He had long not wanted to stay there any longer. “Then I shall take my leave.”

“Hmm, go slowly.”

Xu Sanyan smiled slightly, watching Cui Yousheng and the others depart. He waved his hand, summoning Elder Ren, and gestured towards them with his chin.

Elder Ren understood tacitly and led two Disciples to follow them.

A moment later, Cui Yousheng’s angry curses could be heard from outside the house, followed by a soft sound, and then silence returned.

Elder Ren walked back, carrying Cui Yousheng’s head, whose eyes were still wide open in death. He casually tossed it aside and then pulled out several Storage Pouches, handing them to Xu Sanyan.

“Oh, why did you kill them? I told you to see them off.”

Xu Sanyan feigned surprise, then shook his head. “Never mind, it’s all the same as seeing them off.”

Qin Manyang secretly rolled her eyes.

He tore open a few Storage Pouches and found nothing valuable. He casually tossed them to Elder Ren. “You can keep them.”

“Thank you, Saint.” Elder Ren glanced at them, also finding them somewhat unimpressive, and casually tossed them to a Disciple nearby.

Xu Sanyan entered the inner room alone, turning to instruct, “You all keep a close watch; no one is allowed inside.”

“Yes.”

Xiang Tan silently stood in front of the wooden door.

Xu Sanyan sat cross-legged on the floor, pulling out a Jade Slip and pressing it against his forehead. Upon contact, he immediately felt a refreshing coolness in his mind, and his Divine Sense was unconsciously drawn into it.

Boom—

Suddenly, a thunderous roar seemed to echo in Xu Sanyan’s mind, and a magnificent scene unfolded before his eyes.

In an instant, he felt as if he had transformed into a feather, drifting in the sky, losing his Physical Body, losing his Soul, with only a tiny wisp of thought remaining.

Beneath the endless sky, golden rays of light descended, piercing directly through the clouds and striking the earth.

On the earth, countless mountains stood, varying in height, with myriad wild birds soaring among them, a picturesque and beautiful scene.

Xu Sanyan no longer knew what he was there for. He had lost consciousness, but a faint remnant of awareness told him that he should observe carefully, understand with his heart, and remember.

At the same time, a deep and resonant voice came from his ears,

“The Heavenly Dao is formless and difficult to define. Its existence follows laws, yet also encompasses nature. It distinguishes neither good nor evil, nor high nor low. Comprehend one Dao, and one can achieve Immortal Ascension.”

“And the Human Dao is infinite, yet it relies on the Heavenly Dao: the Blood Sea Dao, the Calamity Dao, the Sword Dao, the Formation Dao, the Asura Dao…”

Each time the voice spoke of a Dao, one of the golden rays of light descending from the sky would intensely flicker, echoing the voice from afar.

“The Human Dao operates beneath the Heavenly Dao, follows the Heavenly Dao, and comprehends the meaning of the Heavenly Dao, attempting to merge one’s body with the Dao, which can be called the ‘He Dao Realm’.”

“What is Immortal Ascension? It is to control a Human Dao and then share the authority of the Heavenly Dao; that is Immortal Ascension!”

Next, the voice began to explain the meaning of each Dao path,

“The Blood Sea Dao, the Blood Sea, is not the Demonic Path as commonly understood by ordinary people, but rather a vast Dao…”

As the voice entered his ears, a pillar of light flickered, and Xu Sanyan’s gaze was unconsciously drawn, staring fixedly at it.

Countless images flashed across the light pillar: humans, Yao Beasts; they fought fiercely, blood splattering, slowly congealing into a new scene.

It was a naked man, his Meridians and Qi visible through his skin, clear at a glance.

“This is Qi and blood, the foundation of the Physical Body, and also the basis of cultivation…”

The voice was vast and distant, coming from an unknown place, and Xu Sanyan comprehended with his heart.

This was also the reason why, even though he had an old man (in his mind), he still went to such lengths to snatch the Jade Slip.

Because some things cannot be expressed in words; even if the old man explained clearly, he might not understand.

And the old man had lost all his cultivation, unable to use such magnificent means to help him comprehend the Great Dao, so he could only rely on the Jade Slip.

Xu Sanyan was immersed in this, unaware of the passage of time, nor how much time had passed in the outside world.

…

In a wide alley slightly east of Moyang City’s center, Lin Fan ran frantically along the wall, his face filled with panic, constantly looking back to see if the corpse demon had caught up.

After turning a few corners, he finally shook it off. Lin Fan plopped down on the ground, gasping for breath, his chest heaving violently.

Once his breathing evened out, he silently pulled out a handkerchief from his Pregnant, the very one Zuoqiu Yi had left him earlier.

“Wait for me, I will definitely come find you!”

Lin Fan’s tone was firm. He recalled Zuoqiu Yi’s face in his mind, took a deep breath from the handkerchief, and carefully tucked it into his clothes.

Feeling sufficiently rested, Lin Fan had just stood up when the corner of his eye caught a shadow swiftly flitting past.

Lin Fan suddenly turned his head, only to see a large mansion not far away. Its slightly open gate appeared old, its original color no longer discernible. Through the gap in the gate, only a profound darkness could be seen.

The ancient mansion seemed out of place in this city. Its size was perfectly normal, no different from an ordinary courtyard outside, yet it seemed it shouldn't be here.

“Swish—”

A streak of light flashed through the gap in the gate, startling him. Lin Fan silently retreated two steps, hiding in the corner of the wall, observing with a frown.

He was certain there was something inside, but he didn't know what it was or if it was dangerous, so he dared not enter rashly.

Creak~ Ga~~

The gate opened by itself without wind, slowly revealing a gap. The wind passing through made a sharp “yi ya” sound, like an opera singer hiding inside, straining her voice.

“Gulp~”

Lin Fan unconsciously swallowed, cold sweat instantly breaking out on his temples.

He knew that something inside was ‘inviting’ him to enter.

In such a situation, no one with a brain would possibly go in. Lin Fan was naturally not foolish; he slowly began to retreat, his gaze fixed on the gate.

One step…

Two steps…

Three steps…

Bang!

His heel seemed to have hit something. Suddenly, a cold gust of wind brushed his back, piercing through his thin outer garment and stinging his skin.

Lin Fan’s pupils sharply contracted. He clearly remembered there was… nothing behind him!

Mechanically twisting his neck, a dark, profound passage appeared before him. The two gates were fully open, swaying with the gentle breeze.

That ancient mansion… had appeared behind him!

“What… the hell!”

Lin Fan slowly uttered two words, then abruptly turned his head. The mansion that had been in front was now gone.

“Yi ya~~”

“Hehehe~”

Various sounds occasionally emanated from inside the mansion: the singing of an opera performer, and the playful laughter of children.

Lin Fan tightly pressed his lips together. He knew this ancient mansion had its eyes on him and didn't want him to leave.
