120: Brother is the best~~

Before Xu Sanyan could decide whether to flee, the Mad Daoist returned.

Well, that settled it; there was no need to agonize over whether to escape anymore.

The Mad Daoist emerged from the forest, one hand holding a purple gourd and guzzling from it, the other dragging a massive Demonic Beast resembling an ape.

Just by its size, it was easily three times as large as the Mad Daoist, presenting a powerful visual impact.

“You are…” Xu Sanyan licked his lips.

“Want some?” The Mad Daoist was generous, extending the purple gourd to him.

Xu Sanyan shook his head repeatedly, “You drink, you drink.”

Only then did he notice a large wound on the ape’s neck, crimson blood soaking its black fur and pooling on the ground.

The Mad Daoist casually tossed the purple gourd, which drilled into the ape’s wound.

The ape visibly shriveled, as if all its vital Qi had been drained.

The Mad Daoist recalled the purple gourd and staggered deeper into the forest.

Xu Sanyan seriously suspected that this Crazy Old Daoist was just out hunting, and he had merely stumbled upon him, essentially delivering himself to his doorstep.

As dusk approached, Xu Sanyan was becoming disoriented, and the Crazy Old Daoist was getting quite drunk.

With a “thud,” he collapsed to the ground, his eyes glazed as he pointed at the dark mountain ahead, “That’s our Red Dragon Mountain.

You go on by yourself; I’m going to sleep.”

No sooner had he finished speaking than snores erupted, without a second’s delay.

Xu Sanyan turned his head and saw that there was a tall peak to the left-rear and another to the right-rear of this mountain, forming a triangle that surrounded the central peak.

There were four peaks in total, corresponding to the four lineages of the Tongxin Demon Sect, with the central peak likely belonging to the Sect Master’s lineage.

Xu Sanyan glanced at the Mad Daoist, not daring to make any extra moves, and walked up the mountain alone.

Halfway up, a “rustling” sound came from the shadows.

Xu Sanyan stopped to observe, then said loudly, “This Disciple, a new arrival of the Chixin Lineage, greets all Senior Brothers.”

Two people emerged from behind a tree.

Xu Sanyan looked up: one was pale-faced and beardless, tall and thin; the other had a face like black charcoal and was as short as an infant.

Standing together, the contrast was stark.

The tall, thin youth scrutinized Xu Sanyan for a moment, a glint in his eyes.

He raised a fey finger to brush away a stray lock of hair, his voice effeminate, “Your token?”

As he spoke, he even licked his lips and blinked lightly, exuding a seductive charm.

Xu Sanyan felt immense disgust but did not show it.

“This Disciple has just joined the Saint Sect and does not yet have a token.

The Hall Master is resting at the foot of the mountain; perhaps you two would care to accompany me?”

The other short, dark man saw his partner acting this way and felt very uncomfortable.

He waved his hands repeatedly, “Hurry up and go in.

Go to the Affairs Hall first to get a token, so it won’t be inconvenient for you later.”

“Thank you,” Xu Sanyan bowed in gratitude.

The tall, thin youth threw him a flirtatious look, “Next time, call me Senior Sister.”

Xu Sanyan pursed his lips, not daring to respond.

After he had walked away, the tall, thin youth complained, “Oh, why did you do that?

That little brother just now was so handsome; he made my heart itch.”

“You hussy, you can’t walk straight when you see someone good-looking.

Can’t I satisfy you…?”

“Naughty, what are you saying, big brother is the best…”

…

Listening to the conversation behind him, Xu Sanyan felt his young mind had been greatly impacted.

He could understand and respect two gay men, but at the very least, their heights should match.

Judging by the height difference of those two, that short one would probably have to stand on a stool to reach…

Xu Sanyan shook his head, no longer thinking about it, and continued up the mountain path.

This peak was very high, with a single path leading directly to the summit.

He didn’t encounter a single person along the way, indicating that the Chixin Lineage indeed had few members.

Halfway up the mountain, there was a flat area with several pavilions.

Here, he finally saw a few people, but they didn’t interact with each other.

They merely glanced at Xu Sanyan and left, no one approaching him to talk.

Xu Sanyan looked up and saw that one of the buildings in the center was indeed the “Affairs Hall,” so he stepped inside.

There were more Disciples inside the Affairs Hall, roughly a dozen of them.

From their conversations, they seemed to be handing over tasks.

“Senior Brother, is there something you need?” Just as Xu Sanyan was looking around, a youth approached and asked.

Xu Sanyan cupped his hands and said, “I am not worthy of being called Senior Brother.

I have just joined Red Dragon Mountain and have come to process an identity token.”

“Oh… ten Spirit Stones.” As soon as he heard he was new, the youth’s expression changed instantly, becoming cold.

“It costs money?” Xu Sanyan raised an eyebrow.

“Heh, are you going to do it or not? If not, move aside, don’t waste my time.” The youth spoke and was about to leave.

Xu Sanyan quickly stopped him, pulling twenty Spirit Stones from his Storage Pouch.

“I am new here and don’t understand the rules.

The rest is for apology; please forgive me, Senior Brother.”

The youth’s expression softened a little.

He reached into his pocket and pulled out a token, tossing it to him, “Cave Dwelling Ding-character number twenty-seven is yours from now on.”

“Since I am new here, may I ask what rules we have within our Sect?” Xu Sanyan asked politely.

The youth, for the sake of the ten Spirit Stones, reluctantly offered a few words of caution, “There aren’t many rules.

Disciples are not allowed to fight within the Sect.

Of course, this refers to us ordinary Disciples.”

Xu Sanyan nodded silently, meaning that Hall Masters and other influential individuals were not included.

“There are mandatory monthly tasks that must be completed.

If they are not completed, you can pay Spirit Stones to make up for it.

Of course, this also refers to us ordinary Disciples.”

Xu Sanyan blinked.

It sounded like this Demon Sect wasn’t much different from a Righteous Path Sect.

This was reasonable; any force, regardless of its nature, must have its own set of rules to bind it, otherwise, it would surely fall into chaos.

If the Tongxin Demon Sect had no rules, and Disciples just killed each other when they disagreed, they would have long since wiped themselves out.

“Here, take this Sect rules book back and read it carefully.” The youth casually tossed him a thin booklet, then turned to leave.

Suddenly, he paused, as if remembering something, and turned his head to ask, “How old are you?”

“Forty,” Xu Sanyan liked to tell small lies.

The youth’s eyes lit up, and he suddenly asked, “Do you want to make some big money?”

Xu Sanyan seemed to guess what he was going to do and asked in return, “Are you referring to the selection of the Saint?”

The youth raised an eyebrow, “You know?”

“Haha…” Xu Sanyan shook his head with a bitter smile, “The Hall Master personally appointed me.”

“Tsk, tsk, good luck.”

The youth looked at him as if he were looking at a dead man, even wanting to snatch back the booklet he had just given him.

In the competition for the Saint, each of the four lineages sends fifty people, making a total of two hundred, but only five can survive.

This probability was horrifyingly low, and the youth didn’t believe this newly initiated person could come out alive.

Moreover, there were many rising young talents within the Sect, all with impressive strength.

Some busybodies had even ranked them, giving them the nickname “Saint Sect Ten Heroes.”

These Ten Heroes were the hottest candidates for the position of Saint, and everyone knew that the five Saints would certainly come from among them.
