114: Can you slow down...

Before long, everyone had been disciplined. No one vanished today, and two more people arrived, which was cause for celebration.

Those two sat beside Xu Sanyan. Of course, they were also disciplined, but because they weren't late, they only received three strikes.

The Old Gentleman sat on a wooden chair, lecturing everyone. He continued from yesterday’s lesson, meticulously dissecting the so-called “Six Arts of a Gentleman.”

In terms of teaching quality alone, this Old Gentleman indeed lectured very well, making complex topics easy to understand, and Xu Sanyan had no trouble grasping them.

His eyes shifted slightly to look at the panel. The panel was always in front of him; if he put it away, he would lose his Divine Soul, becoming no different from the others.

The Spell column had already changed:

["Spell — "Blood Demon Corpse Refining Method" (Intermediate). "Life Coffin Technique" (Beginner). "Soul Condensation Technique" (Not Yet Mastered). "Yin and Yang Intercourse Spell" (Not Yet Mastered)…"]

Several other Spells were also listed, such as Corpse Refining Spell, Gu Refining Spell, and so on. How to select corpses, how to cultivate Gu worms—everything was clearly remembered.

If this book were to be taken out, it would likely cause countless people to fight over it. This single book could become the foundation for a Sect.

Xu Sanyan adopted a 'go with the flow' attitude, knowing he couldn't leave anytime soon, so he might as well study diligently.

Therefore, after school each day, while others were busy sleeping, he was busy completing his homework.

Xu Sanyan never dreamed that he would actually become the person he disliked the most: someone engaging in internal competition.

A month passed quickly. During this time, Xu Sanyan absorbed hundreds of Soul fragments and experienced hundreds of people’s memory fragments. However, the one that left the deepest impression on him was still the time when the woman was….

This would become a lifelong, indelible shadow for him.

This morning, everyone lined up to enter. Now, Xu Sanyan’s height stood out like a crane among chickens in the crowd, surrounded by children.

After Xu Sanyan’s height returned to normal, it stopped growing and instead became increasingly solid, with strong muscles, transforming from a quantitative change to a qualitative one.

Moreover, there were originally about twenty people in the school. Over this past month, a few vanished, and a few more came in from who knows where. With these comings and goings, not only did the number not decrease, but it actually increased.

After checking his homework, Xu Sanyan closed his eyes tightly, images surging in his mind. The first image today was of a child.

He wondered whose childhood memory this was, that it hadn't been forgotten even now.

In the image, the child squatted outside a simple thatched hut, playing with mud, when suddenly there was a commotion from inside the house.

“Wife, let’s do it…” the man said anxiously.

“Go away, go away, the child is still outside…” The woman’s voice was full of feigned reluctance, clearly indicating she also wanted to.

The man naturally heard it, chuckled, and said, “Please, just once, it’ll be quick…”

The woman was silent for a moment, her voice carrying a hint of wistfulness, “Can’t you be less quick? Every time, I haven’t even felt anything and you’re already done…”

The child quietly got up, seemingly very curious about what his parents were doing inside the house. So he went to the corner and peeked through a crack in the thatched hut’s window.

He saw his father hastily trying to take off his mother’s clothes, revealing slightly rough skin.

The child’s eyes widened. He didn’t quite understand but was very curious, covering his mouth and staring with wide eyes…

Xu Sanyan stood with his eyes closed, watching the memory in his mind, while the Old Gentleman’s calm gaze swept over him, wondering what he was thinking.

The image shattered there. Xu Sanyan sighed inwardly, it was indeed too fast. Each memory fragment was only for a very short while, and in that brief moment, the man had already started pulling up his pants.

The second image followed closely. Xu Sanyan was stunned as soon as he saw it. It actually connected?

It wasn’t connected to this image, but to the young man who was chased by the spider before.

After the golden bell trapped the spider, the young man was visibly relieved. He turned to look at the side of the forest, and a red figure gracefully emerged—it was Qin Manyang!

A strange emotion rose in Xu Sanyan’s heart, indescribable. It was like watching a movie, and suddenly your second aunt appeared on screen, acting in a kissing scene with someone else.

This memory image was from an unknown time, so its temporal context could not be determined.

The young man cupped his hands in thanks, his face filled with gratitude and relief. “Many thanks, Fairy, for saving my life.”

Qin Manyang was no longer her usual lively self, but rather somewhat aloof. She nodded faintly and waved her hand casually. The bell flew up into the air, slowly shrinking and falling into her hand.

Along with it, the spider also shrank, or perhaps it had already been refined.

Xu Sanyan was startled. This bell actually possessed such power?

His Blood Demon had been covered by the bell before, and after a long time, it only sustained some minor external injuries. He didn't think his Blood Demon was stronger than this spider, so it seemed she had intentionally held back.

“A mere Foundation Establishment Realm cultivator dares to come to Wanmo Mountain?” Qin Manyang glanced at him, her tone very cold.

The young man said helplessly, “I was forced to come, only seeking refuge by joining the Tongxin Holy Sect.”

The image ended there.

Xu Sanyan pondered silently. From the young man’s words, he gleaned one piece of information: the Tongxin Demon Sect was in Wanmo Mountain.

And Qin Manyang appearing there, did that prove that she might also be a member of the Tongxin Demon Sect?

The third image followed closely. As soon as Xu Sanyan saw it, he was immediately stunned, because… he saw himself!

From this person’s perspective, Xu Sanyan was lying on a bamboo bed reading a book, while this person stood outside the sleeping quarters, quietly staring at him.

This should be… the Old Gentleman’s perspective!

He didn’t expect his Divine Soul fragment to appear as well?

But why was he staring at himself?

Suddenly, the Old Gentleman in the image moved his lips and said in an extremely low voice, audible only to himself, “When you leave, take the ruler with you, otherwise you won’t be able to get out.”

Boom!

Xu Sanyan felt a sudden explosion in his mind. A tingling, electric sensation came from the depths of his Divine Soul, striking his body, filling his heart with astonishment.

He was talking to him! This Old Gentleman was definitely talking to him!

He told him to take the ruler when he left!

To communicate with him in such a way…

But why didn’t he just say it directly?

Unless…

He also had restrictions!

For example, he wasn’t allowed to communicate with students, so he could only inform him this way?

The image immediately shattered. Xu Sanyan slowly opened his eyes and subconsciously glanced at the Old Gentleman, only to see a rare ripple in his usually calm eyes.

Xu Sanyan knew, he knew that he had already seen that memory fragment.

Xu Sanyan subtly nodded slightly, indicating his agreement to his request.

Only then did the Old Gentleman speak, “Take your seat.”

Xu Sanyan pursed his lips and sat down on the chair without a word.

This Old Gentleman… he didn’t seem to be allied with this place; instead, he was very similar to those who had stumbled into this place.

Perhaps this Old Gentleman also hoped to escape one day?
