263: Something that comes easily
The monster's upper half emerged from the sea, its enormous figure comparable to a demon god, making Xu Sanyan look like an ant beneath it.
Xu Sanyan stared up blankly, gazing at the colossal figure, lost in confusion. His vision couldn't even penetrate the Mist Sea to see the monster's full form, only a blurred shadow.
Then he turned to look at the countless tentacles growing on its body, realizing that the snake-like monster that had just attacked him was merely one of its tentacles.
Just by its size, this monster made one lose all thought of fighting it. Xu Sanyan estimated that his full-power attack would be like a mere pinprick to it.
Fortunately, Xu Sanyan was small enough that the monster didn't seem to notice him. It strode towards the depths of the Mist Sea, causing the waves to churn wildly along the way, and countless tentacles plunged into the seabed, as if hunting for prey.
It turned out those tentacles were the monster's feeding organs.
Xu Sanyan's eyes flickered, and he quietly followed behind the monster. With it clearing the way, he only needed to be careful not to be attacked by its tentacles.
This indeed made things much safer.
As he ventured deeper, the mist grew thicker, and the sky gradually darkened.
The Mist Sea was already quite dark, with the mist blocking out sunlight, and now, after sunset, it became even dimmer.
"Whoosh~"
The sea churned, and the giant beast seemed to have grown tired. Its massive form plunged beneath the surface, disappearing without a trace.
Xu Sanyan didn't dare follow it down; it would only be more dangerous beneath the surface.
"Moo~~~!"
Suddenly,
a piercing howl echoed through the heavens and earth. Xu Sanyan's mind reeled. Looking down, he saw the colossal monster from earlier thrashing and surging out of the sea, the violent roar emanating from its mouth.
The agonizing scream shook the heavens and earth. Xu Sanyan, not far away, felt an explosive headache and his mind violently shook. A gentle breeze lifted him into the sky, carrying him swiftly away from the area.
In his haste,
Xu Sanyan's gaze swept downwards, and an immense shock welled up in his heart. The monster that had previously seemed so enormous to him was now being torn apart and devoured by an even larger, whale-like monster.
The whale-like monster, with only half its body surfaced, filled Xu Sanyan's entire field of vision. Looking up, only the monster's body was visible in the mist.
Crimson blood stained the sea, and half of the tentacled behemoth's body had already been swallowed.
"Holy crap..."
Xu Sanyan's pupils widened. How could it be so big?
Without time to think, he quickly fled. Such a battle between monsters was far beyond his qualification to interfere with.
Although size doesn't represent everything in the cultivation world, it is still an important factor that cannot be ignored. Imagine, if such a giant beast, tens of thousands of feet tall, were to sit down, no matter how powerful you are, it would be difficult to resist.
Xu Sanyan suspected that even He Dao Realm cultivators might not be a match for these two monsters.
Suddenly, an unparalleled, immense suction force emerged between heaven and earth. Xu Sanyan's face showed panic, and his body plummeted downwards.
He saw the whale-like monster open its enormous mouth, and the surging seawater poured in, forming a vortex, even sucking in the mist from the sky.
And the tentacled behemoth tried to escape, its numerous fleshy limbs flailing wildly, but all its efforts were in vain. It could only watch helplessly as it was slowly swallowed.
"Moo~~~!"
A piercing cry echoed across the sky, containing an indescribable terror.
Xu Sanyan was like an innocent ant, incidentally sucked into its mouth.
Only now did he understand why everyone said the Mist Sea was dangerous. He had originally thought monsters would specifically attack him, but he hadn't realized he had overestimated himself.
He didn't even need to be specifically attacked; just being affected by a little bit of the aftermath would be enough to kill him.
To that giant beast, killing Xu Sanyan was merely an incidental matter.
As the seawater poured in, Xu Sanyan, along with the mist, was sucked into its mouth. He could only cling tightly to the gray fruit and leave his fate to chance.
The giant beast's mouth was filled with sharp teeth, each one much taller than him. Xu Sanyan, carried by the seawater, plunged into the beast's mouth, frantically twisting his body to avoid the teeth, and slid down its intestines.
At this moment, he was as tiny as a Mortal, without any power to resist, only able to drift with the current.
The seawater, mixed with the blood of the tentacled monster, emitted a strong, fishy stench. Xu Sanyan, with his Storage Pouch in his mouth and the fruit in his arms, slid down the giant beast's intestines.
It was like going down a slide; if one ignored the danger, it was actually quite interesting.
"Whoosh~"
As the surging waves flowed downwards, Xu Sanyan saw many other smaller monsters in the giant beast's intestines, all of which had also been swallowed.
Xu Sanyan calmed down a bit, thinking about how to save himself. He only hoped that he could follow the seawater and be incidentally expelled from the giant beast's body, but this idea was likely to fall through.
"Plop~"
Xu Sanyan separated from the seawater and fell into a space filled with green liquid. Looking up, he saw corpses of various monsters all around, and some wriggling tentacles, which were currently being corroded by the green liquid.
A pungent, acrid smell, mixed with an indescribable odor, assaulted his nostrils.
Xu Sanyan lifted his sleeve to look, and in just a moment, his clothes had already been completely corroded.
"Stomach...?"
Xu Sanyan's heart lurched. Had he entered the giant beast's stomach?
Without time to think, he immediately circulated his magical power, wanting to escape, but the stomach was like a viscous swamp, clinging tightly to him.
"Ah!!"
Xu Sanyan's face contorted in a grimace. He used all his strength but couldn't move half a step, only able to watch helplessly as he was corroded away.
"Damn it!"
Xu Sanyan cursed inwardly, suppressing the panic in his heart. His brain worked furiously, searching for a chance to save himself.
He could already feel waves of pain emanating from his body, proving that the stomach acid was corroding him. The magical power barrier he had erected on his body had not provided any protective effect whatsoever.
As his gaze swept around, he suddenly looked at the fruit in his arms. Only then did he realize that this item was also submerged in the stomach acid, yet showed no change at all.
It seemed... the stomach acid couldn't do anything to it?
He seemed to have found a way to survive!
Xu Sanyan's eyes lit up with joy. He no longer cared about anything else and frantically channeled all his magical power into the fruit.
The fruit emitted a faint glow.
Whoosh—
Xu Sanyan's figure disappeared from the stomach, leaving only a single fruit floating in the dark green stomach fluid, rising and falling with the churning liquid.
...
"Slurp~"
Xu Sanyan felt a wet licking sensation on his face. He groggily opened his eyes, and his heart instantly jolted in surprise. He saw three dog mouths licking his face haphazardly.
If he had woken up any later, the dog tongues would have been in his mouth.
Xu Sanyan shook his head, then clearly saw that it wasn't three dogs at all, but one dog with three heads.
A Three-Headed Dog?
Where had he ended up?
Xu Sanyan thought back for a moment and then remembered the sequence of events.
So... this is the Secret Realm of that fruit?
