375: Just do good things and don't worry about the future

The two lingered on the bed for a long time before Xu Sanyan finally found an opportunity to ask, "You've already performed the sixth blessing?"

Xun An Cai nodded, "Yes, because the Long Night is coming, and we need to increase our strength as quickly as possible. The danger of the Long Night isn't just a lack of food; there are also wild beasts. When they're starving, they'll risk attacking the tribe."

Xu Sanyan hesitated, "Then my fourth blessing…"

"Hmm…"

Xun An Cai was also a bit troubled. Her last blessing for Xu Sanyan, the third one, had already put her under immense pressure from the Clan Elders.

But she had already promised him, and she couldn't go back on her word no matter what. So, after a moment of struggle, she nodded forcefully,

"No problem!"

Xu Sanyan saw her difficulty but didn't say much, just a slight nod, "Then I'll wait until I'm ready."

"Good."

The reason for the delay was that Xu Sanyan planned to deal with those old geezers first.

Xun An Cai stood up and said, "You wait for me at home, I'm going out for a bit."

"Okay."

Xun An Cai turned and left, leaving only Xu Sanyan in the cave. He naturally wouldn't stay there obediently, so he got up and walked outside.

He had long since figured out the homes of those Clan Elders.

The Dog Clan itself wasn't large, occupying only a small mountain. A main road led directly from the foot of the mountain to the summit, and many smaller paths branched off from it, leading to the residences of the tribesmen.

Most ordinary tribesmen lived on the mountainside, the Clan Chief lived at the summit, and the Clan Elders lived closer to the summit, not far from the cave.

Xu Sanyan naturally couldn't just barge into the Clan Elders' homes and start a massacre. He needed to create an opportunity.

Xun An Cai had just said that the wild beasts during the Long Night were extremely irritable, and because hunting was difficult and food was scarce, they were even fiercer.

If that was the case…

He could try to lure wild beasts to attack the Dog Clan. When the Dog Clan was in chaos, he would then seize the opportunity to eliminate those old fellows.

Once wild beasts attacked the tribe, the Dog Clan people would inevitably suffer casualties, but Xu Sanyan didn't care. As long as he achieved his goal, what did a few deaths matter?

Thinking this, he turned and walked down the mountain.

This time, he didn't take the main road but instead moved through the mountain forest, trying to avoid the Dog Clan's patrol teams.

After successfully leaving the Dog Clan's territory, he randomly chose a direction and started walking. Xu Sanyan walked while listening intently to the distant beast roars, slowly approaching.

The sound grew closer and closer. Xu Sanyan held his breath. Ahead, he faintly heard sounds of fighting.

This distance from the Dog Clan was just right, neither too far nor too close.

"Roar~"

"Ow~!"

The sounds of beasts fighting and roaring were continuous. The two beasts seemed evenly matched, making it difficult to determine a winner for a while. Due to the darkness, Xu Sanyan couldn't clearly see what kind of beasts they were.

Suddenly, Xu Sanyan's brows furrowed, and a strong sense of crisis abruptly rose in his heart. Without time to think, his body instinctively lunged forward,

"Bang!!"

In an instant, a heavy thud came from where he had just been. If he had been even a moment later, he might have been finished.

What was that?!

Xu Sanyan's mind trembled. He looked back intently and saw a giant ape-like creature standing behind him. Its pair of huge hands were extremely striking, probably half the size of his body.

A palm technique from the sky?

Xu Sanyan pulled out his long saber and stood ready. He estimated that this giant ape had also been attracted by the sounds of battle.

"Roar~!"

The giant ape's face was ferocious, emitting a muffled roar from its throat. Its fists clenched, it charged again, its massive fists slamming towards Xu Sanyan's face.

"Whoosh~"

Xu Sanyan took a deep breath, suppressing his wildly beating heart. A surge of malice also rose from the depths of his being. If his five senses hadn't been keen, he would have already become the giant ape's meal.

"Die!"

Xu Sanyan clenched his teeth, his long saber whistling through the air, flashing by in the darkness.

The figures of one man and one ape intertwined,

In that instant, the giant ape swung its fist, a fierce wind assailing him, the fist like a truck rushing towards him, possessing unparalleled power.

Xu Sanyan dared not meet it head-on, nor was there any need to. This giant ape's strength was average, not even as strong as the previous fierce tiger.

But he saw him lean back, avoiding the fist while quickly turning, his long saber slicing upwards, instantly cutting across the giant ape's back.

"Roar~"

The roar shook the sky, but Xu Sanyan remained unmoved, his heart filled only with boundless malice.

Swish—

Xu Sanyan expressionlessly flipped his wrist, slashing dozens of times in the blink of an eye. Every cut went deep into the flesh, piercing through bone.

When the two had passed each other, Xu Sanyan lightly flicked his arm, and a trail of blood dripped from the blade.

"Thud!"

The giant ape lost its support and fell to the ground, its eyes lifelessly rolling a few times before it became completely still.

"Damn it, a sneak attack!"

Xu Sanyan cursed viciously, not wasting any time, and began to dissect.

"Hiss~"

The long saber sliced open the skin and flesh, and lifeless blood flowed, a Fishy smell (xīngchòu) stench immediately spreading.

Then he stripped away flesh and bone, breaking bones, revealing the fragile internal organs.

Xu Sanyan's target was precisely these internal organs, because the smell of internal organs was stronger and more likely to attract wild beasts.

He allowed the giant ape's chest to remain open, grabbing the giant ape's head with one hand and walking towards the Dog Clan's direction. The stench of blood gradually spread. Xu Sanyan, finding the smell too faint, cut off flesh and internal organs along the way, scattering them as he walked.

"Rustle~"

A slight rustling sound came from the forest, as if some wild beasts were approaching. Xu Sanyan was not in a hurry, because he was almost at the Dog Clan.

Whoosh—

A wild beast suddenly darted out from the shadows. It had been following for a while, and its patience had completely run out, choosing to launch a sneak attack.

Xu Sanyan's ears twitched slightly. There must have been quite a few wild beasts hidden around. Seeing that the time was ripe, he dragged the giant ape and frantically fled towards the Dog Clan, while also dodging the pouncing beast.

As Xu Sanyan moved, it was as if he had triggered some switch. The wild beasts hiding in the dark, waiting for an opportunity, instantly became agitated and swarmed out.

Strangely, the beasts did not attack each other. Instead, they rushed towards the giant ape's corpse as if organized.

This was the nature of wild beasts; they would prioritize food that was easier to obtain, avoiding injury to themselves, and the giant ape, already a corpse, was clearly the best choice.

"Woof~"

Dog barks came from the front. The Dog Clan had also discovered the anomaly, and someone would surely come to investigate.

Xu Sanyan dragged the giant ape a few more steps, then swung his arms in a circle, exerting force, and the giant ape's corpse flew through the air towards the Dog Clan's direction. Then he darted into the side, without looking back.

A group of wild beasts frantically rushed towards the giant ape's corpse, beginning to fight over the prey.

"Roar~"

"Woof~"

"Oh no, wild beasts have broken in! Quickly, go call the Clan Chief!"

Listening to the commotion there, Xu Sanyan grinned,

Although there were a bit few wild beasts, they should be able to cause some chaos, and the Dog Clan happened to be short on food, so these wild beasts could be considered his gift to the Dog Clan.

Thinking this, he turned and ran up the mountain.

Next, he was going to start doing good deeds, sending those old geezers back into the embrace of the dog god!

Do good deeds, and don't ask about the future. Xu Sanyan gave himself a thumbs up!
