33: Massacre!

Sun's face turned cold, losing his previous amiable business smile. "Xu Sanyan, you're seeking death!"

With that, a faint green light appeared on his palms, striking directly at the heart.

The other three also used their various methods, rushing into the crowd. Behind the mourning hall, people wielding swords and blades continuously rushed out to join the battle.

Xu Sanyan's eyes narrowed slightly, observing Sun's fleshy palms with a hint of curiosity. He had never seen such a peculiar martial art before.

"Xu Sanyan, was the Gang Leader's death related to you?" Sun questioned.

"Heh, if you can withstand three of my moves, I'll tell you."

Xu Sanyan pulled the corners of his mouth into a smile, his long saber still in its sheath. He merely stood in place, gathering strength, then suddenly, he fiercely threw a punch, striking the incoming palm.

"Bang!"

With a muffled thud, Sun was immediately sent flying backward, his right arm twisted at an unnatural angle, and his palm was mangled, exposing gruesome bone fragments.

"Ah!"

Sun cried out in pain, cold sweat beading on his forehead. He clutched his broken arm tightly, his eyes staring at Xu Sanyan in terror. What kind of monstrous strength was this?

He hadn't expected to be unable to withstand even a single move!

Xu Sanyan felt the sensation from just now, as if he had punched steel. Sun, he didn't know what kind of martial art he had Cultivated, but he could actually train his palms to be as hard as steel, which was truly bizarre.

"Old Sun!"

The old man brandished his long saber and quickly came to Sun's side, helping him up. "Are you alright?"

"Be careful, his strength is abnormally great."

Sun staggered to his feet, his entire right arm already crippled, and his palm, Cultivated for many years, was also mangled.

"Hmph, what if he has great strength? I don't believe he's not afraid of swords and blades!" The old man snorted coldly, attacking with his saber, delivering a fierce cleave that aimed to cut him in half.

Xu Sanyan watched him with calm eyes, the old man's movements reflected in his clear pupils.

Slow.

Too slow.

The old man's saber technique seemed to be in slow motion in his eyes; he could easily dodge it.

Xu Sanyan's body swayed slightly, and the long saber passed by Xu Sanyan's cheek, not even touching a corner of his clothes.

The old man's eyes narrowed. What incredible speed!

He hadn't even seen Xu Sanyan's movements, yet he had dodged that strike, which was enough to prove that their strengths were not on the same level at all.

Xu Sanyan clenched his fingers into a fist, delivering a swift blow to the old man's throat.

"Pfft!"

The old man spurted blood from his mouth, his eyes staring at Xu Sanyan in disbelief. He hadn't expected to be unable to withstand even a single move.

Sun's face changed drastically upon seeing this. This person not only had astonishing strength but also speed far beyond ordinary people. Even if the four of them were tied together, they wouldn't be a match for Xu Sanyan.

Even if the Gang Leader were alive, he might not be a match!

Run!

In his panic, Sun was about to flee. Just as he turned around, a long saber pierced through his body, and Xu Sanyan's voice echoed in his ear, "You didn't withstand three moves, so I can't tell you."

Sun's expression was resentful, and he made an incoherent sound mixed with blood, "Hmph... you won't get a good..."

Xu Sanyan's eyes narrowed, his wrist twisting. In an instant, the long saber flashed, and a large head fell to the ground.

"Rude."

...

Half an hour later, most of the Ginseng Society Disciples were dead. The remaining either fled or surrendered, and the battle was completely over.

Xu Sanyan pointed his saber at one of the minor leaders. "Take me to where the precious medicines are kept."

"This way, Xu Gang Leader." The man trembled as he led the way.

Opening the Ginseng Society's storeroom for herbs, it was filled with cabinets, and many herbs he couldn't name were neatly arranged.

Xu Sanyan followed him to the innermost part, where there was a small room. The minor leader pointed to the room and said, "Gang Leader, this is where the precious medicines are kept."

"You go in and get them out."

"Yes."

Not long after, Xu Sanyan looked at the twelve boxes placed before him, feeling very excited. With these precious medicines, he wasn't far from the Tianren Realm!

Xu Sanyan arranged for some people to clean up the battlefield and to bring the bodies of the four Deputy Gang Leaders, as well as the Gang Leader's body lying in the coffin, back home.

He wouldn't concern himself with the rest of the matters.

Back home, Xu Sanyan eagerly swallowed the twelve precious medicines. The 'Qi' on his panel successfully reached eighteen points, but the plus sign behind his Realm did not appear, indicating it wasn't enough yet.

He brought the five corpses into the secret room. As the corpses shriveled, blood droplets appeared on the saber hilt.

Xu Sanyan swallowed it without hesitation. As his body emitted waves of heat, his physical constitution was once again enhanced.

"Precious medicine!"

Xu Sanyan murmured to himself. With at most three or four more precious medicines, it should be enough for the Breakthrough. But where could he find them?

General Bai Wuxia and Zhu Yong should still have some. He would try to buy a few tomorrow.

Wrapping the bones, Xu Sanyan sank them into the latrine, clapped his hands, and returned to his room. Opening the door, the Chieftain's Wife was sitting on a chair, having waited for a long time.

Today she was dressed simply, with a plain grey-white outer jacket draped over her shoulders, paired with a light red short shirt underneath, revealing a section of her forearm.

Her hair was coiled at the back of her head, held tightly by a wooden hairpin. Her face was simply touched with a layer of rouge, and her arms were crossed in front of her lower abdomen as she sat upright on the chair.

She presented an image of virtuousness mixed with a hint of sensibility.

Sometimes Xu Sanyan couldn't figure out what her true purpose for coming was.

Was it to offer herself in exchange for Xu Sanyan's protection for her and her son?

Or was it simply because she wanted to come?

...

The next morning, a golden ray of light pierced through the darkness.

Xu Sanyan had been practicing martial arts in the courtyard early. As his Realm grew higher, his rest time also became relatively shorter. He no longer needed to sleep for so long; two or three hours of sleep each day was enough to replenish all his energy.

Perhaps after he Breaks through to Foundation Establishment, he might no longer need to sleep, and merely meditating would be enough to restore his energy.

After stretching his limbs, Xu Sanyan walked towards the Bai Manor. He presumed General Bai Wuxia should also be awake by this time.

In the Bai family's main hall,

Xu Sanyan and the other person leisurely drank tea. Neither mentioned anything that happened at the Ginseng Society; it was all unspoken.

General Bai Wuxia put down his teacup and asked with a curious expression, "I have something I don't understand, and I'd like Brother Xu to enlighten me."

Xu Sanyan picked up his teacup and chuckled, "Brother Xu, are you asking about the deaths of the four Gang Leaders of the Ginseng Society?"

"Precisely. May I ask, Brother Xu, if you have perhaps Broken through to the Inner Energy Perfection Realm?" General Bai Wuxia tilted his head and asked.

He had already heard about everything that happened at the Ginseng Society last night. Xu Sanyan, with one against four, had killed all four Deputy Gang Leaders.

One must know that all four of them were at the mid-level Inner Energy Cultivation, which meant Xu Sanyan had very likely Broken through.

Inner Energy Perfection is not uncommon, but looking at Xu Sanyan's appearance, he was only in his twenties. To Breakthrough to Inner Energy Perfection at such an age was somewhat astonishing.
