111: Chapter 111 A brawl involving two hundred people
Facing Lynn's extremely disdainful remark, "You only sent this many people?" Ben Reilly, the Scarlet Spider standing at the forefront, furrowed his brows tightly beneath his mask.
As the most classic clone Spider-Man of the 90s, he was used to displaying his melancholy on rainy nights.
"You don't understand the darkness and loneliness I carry at all."
Ben Reilly suddenly clenched his fists, striking an extremely forceful combat pose with bulging muscle lines, and growled lowly, "Your arrogance is pathetic in the face of the Spider-Society's absolute justice!"
"Are you performing some third-rate 90s melodrama here?"
Lynn looked at Ben Reilly's affected pose and sighed, completely speechless.
"Do it! Use the highest-intensity capture nets to seal him in!" Ben Reilly stopped talking nonsense and gave the order.
Swoosh, swoosh, swoosh, swoosh!
In an instant, from the surrounding rooftops, streetlights, and walls, over two hundred Spider-Men raised their wrists simultaneously!
The sky full of white spider silk was like an extremely dense blizzard, blanketing Lynn and the others in the center of the alley. This special Multiverse webbing, made by the Society, could even briefly suppress the Hulk's monstrous strength.
Facing this inescapable net...
Lynn didn't even take his hands out of his trench coat pockets.
"Space, Inversion."
Lynn uttered two extremely flat words, and the Space Stone beneath the skin of his left wrist flashed slightly.
Hum!
A ripple of high-dimensional spatial folds, invisible to the naked eye, instantly radiated outward with Lynn as the center.
An extremely comical scene occurred.
The spider silk that had already shot to within half a meter of Lynn's face weirdly turned around the moment it touched this layer of spatial folds!
"What?!"
The surrounding Spider-Men had no time to react at all.
Slap, slap, slap, slap!
The webbing originally meant to capture Lynn returned along its original path at ten times the speed it came, sticking with pinpoint accuracy onto the bodies of those two hundred-plus Spider-Men themselves!
"Damn! My web-shooters are out of control!"
"I'm stuck to the wall by my own net! Someone help me!"
In just one second.
Hundreds of Spider-Men were like insects caught in a spider web, tightly bound to the walls and streetlights by their own weapons, struggling comically in mid-air like they were on swings.
"With just this little ability, you dare to play at being cosmic Police?"
Hobie Brown laughed excitedly as he watched this scene. He suddenly strummed his high-dimensional electric guitar.
Clang—!!!
A powerful sound wave mixed with dark red laws of reality exploded outward.
A dozen or so Spider-Men who had just broken free from the webbing and attempted a flank attack were hit head-on by this sound wave. They didn't even feel pain, only a wave of dizziness in their brains, before being sent flying like a row of bowling pins, crashing into a nearby pile of trash.
"Warning! The target is extremely dangerous, deploy the Heavy Armor Squad!" Ben Reilly shouted commands upon seeing this.
Boom!
At the mouth of the alley, a ten-meter-tall heavy mechanical spider armor started its engine. A massive mechanical arm, carrying the force of ten thousand tons, smashed down ruthlessly toward Lynn's group.
"Step back, let a professional handle this."
Captain Marvel Carol stepped forward. She didn't even use the photon energy of her Binary form.
Facing the massive mechanical arm smashing down, Carol simply raised her right hand casually and propped it up with her palm.
Thud!!!
A dull, heavy sound.
The ten-meter-tall heavy armor's mechanical arm, which was strong enough to collapse a building, was caught steadily in mid-air by Carol with one hand. Even the black and white puddles beneath her feet didn't splash a single drop of water.
"The horsepower of this piece of junk is too low."
Carol's eyes were cold as her fingers suddenly exerted force!
Crack!
The solid high-polymer alloy mechanical arm was crushed by her bare hands! Immediately after, Carol threw a kick, sending the ten-meter-tall mecha flying back over a hundred meters, crashing through a brick wall two blocks away.
Meanwhile, on the other side.
Gwen, having changed into her scarlet suit, turned into a dark red afterimage, weaving through the crowd of spiders.
She didn't use lethal force, but with every move, the crystal blades on her wrists would precisely sever her opponents' web-shooters. In just a few minutes, dozens of elite Spider-Men were taken down by her extremely clean martial arts.
Shadow Spider-Man from the black and white Universe stood in the corner, silently stuffing his drawn revolver back into his trench coat.
He realized there was no room for him to intervene in this battle.
"Damn it! You demon who destroys destiny!"
Ben Reilly, seeing the army he brought defeated in an instant, could no longer maintain his melancholy posture.
He roared, leaped from the rooftop, and using the acceleration of gravity, aimed a sharp flying kick straight at Lynn's head.
"Too slow."
Lynn stood in place, tilted his head slightly, and avoided Ben Reilly's flying kick with extreme ease.
Simultaneously, Lynn reached out with his right hand, grabbed Ben Reilly's ankle, and swung him in a rough semi-circle through the air like a tattered sack.
Bang!
Ben Reilly was slammed heavily onto the hard concrete ground, creating a large, cracked crater.
Cough, cough...
The Scarlet Spider gasped for breath, his bones feeling as if they had fallen apart, as he struggled to crawl back up.
But a pure black leather boot was already stepping firmly onto his chest.
Lynn looked down at him from above, his eyes filled with boredom.
"Is this the confidence Miguel gave you through brainwashing? You think you can maintain the balance of the Multiverse like this?"
Lynn shook his head, exerting a little force with his foot, pinning Ben Reilly so he couldn't move.
"Go back and tell Miguel. I'm tired of playing this game of catching mice."
"Tell him to wash his neck and wait in his lair. I'm going to tear down his spider nest soon."
Lynn withdrew his foot, not even glancing at the Spider-Men wailing all over the ground.
...
Meanwhile.
Earth-928, Spider-Society Headquarters.
On the main screen in the central hall, the desperate scene from moments ago was being broadcast in real-time through the miniature camera on Ben Reilly's suit.
Hundreds of the Society's most elite Agents had been cleared out like trash in an instant, without the opponent even transforming.
The hall was deathly silent; all the Spider-Men felt a deep shudder.
Miguel OHara stood before the screen, his hands gripping the edge of the main console so tightly that the steel-forged control panel was severely deformed under his grip.
"Physical capture failed. Conventional forces cannot analyze this anomalous variable."
The Base's main AI issued a cold notification sound.
"I don't need you to remind me!"
Miguel turned around abruptly, the eyes beneath his mask showing a desperate resolve.
Since conventional means couldn't catch this monster who broke the rules, they could only use the Society's trump card: dimensional weapons.
"Activate the 'High-Dimensional Cage'!"
Miguel strode toward the deepest part of the Base, his voice cold to the extreme.
"Open the hyper-dimensional portal leading directly to the Society headquarters. Since he wants to come, I will completely erase his existence here!"
