57: Chapter 57 The Ancient One Descends, the Observer of Time
The atmosphere dropped to freezing point.
Lynn, clad in a black trench coat, looked at the bald mage in bright yellow monk robes before him.
Ancient One ignored Lynn's arrogance. Her gaze was as calm as an abyss, and the dark gold pendant hanging from her chest—the eye of agamotto—was slowly opening.
Green temporal light lit up inside the isolation chamber.
As the Sorcerer Supreme, Ancient One was accustomed to observing an opponent's past and future when facing an unknown threat.
However, the moment the green light swept over Lynn's body.
"Buzz!"
The crimson blood watch on Lynn's left wrist suddenly erupted with a blinding red light, clashing directly with the green light of the Time Stone.
Ancient One's face, usually as still as a well, finally changed.
In her temporal observation, Lynn's past was a void of garbled code, while his future was an endless sea of blood devouring all timelines! Any magical law attempting to peer into his fate was mercilessly shredded by that bizarre Bloodtrix.
"You are not a variable of this Universe."
Ancient One stowed the eye of agamotto, her expression becoming extremely grave. "You are an anomaly that belongs to no timeline. Your very existence is devouring the laws of this Universe."
"Have you seen enough?"
Lynn sneered and cracked his neck. "Peeping at others as you please comes with a price."
Before his voice had even faded, Lynn exerted force through his feet.
"Bang!"
A deep crater was stomped into the hard silicon-carbon armor floor. Lynn's figure vanished instantly; using the Physical Spatial Crossing he had just comprehended, he teleported directly in front of Ancient One.
Without any fancy movements, Lynn raised his right fist, which was wrapped in dark gold laws, and threw a punch toward Ancient One's head.
The violent wind from the punch even tore through the air.
Ancient One did not dodge.
Her hands suddenly formed seals and pushed outward.
"Crack—!"
With a loud bang like shattering glass, Lynn's fist did not hit Ancient One but instead struck an invisible, transparent barrier.
Immediately after, the space within the entire isolation chamber folded and flipped like a kaleidoscope.
The steel walls shattered into countless geometric blocks, turning upside down. Gravity failed completely.
Mirror Dimension.
At the critical moment, Ancient One pulled Lynn into this magical dimension under her absolute control.
"In the real World, it is indeed difficult for me to kill you without destroying New York."
Ancient One stood upside down on the flipped steel dome, her hands pulling out two golden magical whips that emitted high-heat sparks. "But in the Mirror Dimension, I control all rules of physics and magic."
Ancient One waved her hands.
The entire Mirror Dimension began to shrink frantically. Countless giant steel geometric bodies, like massive millstones, ground toward Lynn from all directions, attempting to crush him into mincemeat.
Simultaneously, the two magical whips coiled around Lynn's arms like venomous snakes.
"Control the rules?"
Locked by the magical whips and watching the spatial millstones pressing down from above, Lynn did not panic; instead, he broke into an extremely brutal smile.
"Old woman, you know nothing of true power."
Lynn did not transform; he directly activated the crimson blood watch on his left wrist.
"Boom!"
Extreme red light erupted from Lynn's body. This was not just the light of genetic reorganization, but the overbearing Law of Devouring of the Bloodtrix, a supreme creation of the Universe!
The magical whips coiled around Lynn's arms were forcibly decomposed and devoured the moment they touched the red light.
"What?!" Ancient One's pupils constricted. Magical energy was actually being physically devoured?
"Shatter for me!"
Lynn broke free from his restraints, his arm muscles bulging. Facing the spatial geometric bodies crushing down from above, he slammed both fists upward!
The Bloodtrix's Law of Devouring, mixed with the Space Stone power Lynn had just assimilated, turned into a terrifying Impact interwoven with dark red and deep blue.
"Rumble—!!!"
This power followed no magical logic whatsoever. It was like a rusty saw, crudely cutting through the underlying architecture of the Mirror Dimension.
The Mirror Dimension that Ancient One took pride in let out an overwhelmed wail under the tearing of this absolute violence.
"Crack... Bang!"
The entire Mirror Dimension, like a glass ball struck by a hammer, exploded!
Countless spatial fragments dissipated into points of light.
The inverted scenery returned to normal.
The two returned to the carrier's isolation chamber.
Sorcerer Ancient One groaned and took a half-step back. The forced shattering of the Mirror Dimension caused a magical backlash, giving her spirit quite a shock.
She looked up at Lynn, who was walking toward her step by step, unharmed; for the first time, a deep sense of powerlessness appeared in her eyes.
magic could not trap him, physics could not kill him, and even time could not predict him.
Lynn walked to a point two meters in front of Ancient One and stopped.
He did not continue to attack, because he knew that completely killing this Sorcerer Supreme now would require some effort, and it was unnecessary.
"You cannot kill me. Moreover, your eye of agamotto cannot see any future where you can defeat me."
Lynn looked down at Ancient One, his voice dripping with extreme mockery.
"What exactly do you want?" Ancient One took a deep breath, calming her turbulent magic.
"What I want is none of your business. But your affairs, I know very well."
Lynn leaned in close to Ancient One and said coldly in a voice only the two of them could hear, "Relying on absorbing energy from Dormammu's Dark Dimension to maintain immortality—it doesn't feel good, does it?"
As soon as these words were spoken.
Ancient One's face, which was always as still as a well, instantly turned pale!
Her greatest secret, the absolute taboo she used to protect Earth yet which violated natural laws, was actually called out by this young man in one breath!
"Old woman."
Lynn straightened up, adjusted the collar of his trench coat, his gaze piercingly cold.
"Your dark energy is already on the verge of consuming you. Your time is running out; just stay in your Kamar-Taj and wait for death."
Lynn turned around, his back to the Sorcerer Supreme, and issued an order to leave.
"Don't provoke me. Otherwise, I will devour your Sanctum along with you."
Ancient One stood there, silent for a long time.
She looked at Lynn's back and ultimately did not cast any more magic. She waved her hand to draw a golden portal and, with deep wariness and helplessness, turned and stepped into it.
The light dissipated, and deathly silence returned to the isolation chamber.
Lynn pressed the communicator at his side.
"Frank. Ancient One is gone. There are no longer any official or magical forces on Earth that can hinder us."
Violent killing intent flickered in Lynn's black eyes.
"Notify the Crimson Guard to prepare to go to Sokovia. It's time to reel in the net on that pair of mutant twins released by HYDRA before its death."
