49: Chapter 49 Settling the Loot, Blood Table Upgrade

Stark Tower top floor. The magma on the rooftop had gradually cooled, turning into a patch of pitch-black glassy crystals.

Lynn stood in the center of the crystals, the cold wind blowing his black shirt.

"Beep—!"

On his left wrist, the crimson blood watch suddenly burst into an extremely cheerful buzzing sound. The dark red, vein-like patterns on the dial were pulsating frantically at an unprecedented frequency.

The war was over.

Now, it was time for the harvester to count the loot.

[Battle-level settlement initiated.]

[Liquidating consumed matter from this war: Chitauri infantry genes (hundred-thousand level), Chitauri interstellar aircraft mechanical debris (ten-thousand level), Leviathan interstellar beast gene sequences (hundred level), Chitauri mothership core database and highest authority.]

[Massive amounts of gene fragments begin fusing, pruning, refining...]

Accompanied by the cold mechanical prompt in his mind, a violent energy, so vast it was hard to describe in words, surged out from the depths of the crimson blood watch, pouring directly into Lynn's limbs and bones.

"Ugh..."

Lynn couldn't help but let out a low, muffled groan.

At this moment, his muscle fibers felt as if they were being completely torn apart, only to be rewoven in an extremely short time into a higher-dimensional structure. His bones made crackling sounds like popping beans, and a luster resembling dark gold gradually emerged on the originally hard white bone structure.

[System repair progress increased: 26%... 28%... 29%...]

This was a pure, physiological extreme evolution.

The massive base of the Chitauri army, combined with the formidable physique of the Leviathan beasts capable of surviving in a vacuum, completely filled the final shortcomings of Lynn's normal physical body.

"Boom!"

The glassy crystals under Lynn's feet cracked over a large area instantly, unable to withstand the muscle density he unintentionally radiated.

[Repair progress has broken through the 30% mark!]

[Warning: System has exited the 'severe damage period' and entered the 'first stage stabilization period'.]

[Host's normal physical constitution has undergone a cross-dimensional qualitative change.]

[New normal passives added: 'Vacuum Survival', 'Primary Energy Resistance', 'Cellular-level Self-healing (advanced version of Venom Self-healing)'.]

[Gene library capacity significantly expanded. Dual-star fusion time limit removed.]

The red light gradually subsided, retracting into the dial.

Lynn slowly opened his eyes, a flicker of extremely captivating dark gold light flashing in the depths of his black pupils.

He clenched his fist.

Just this simple action directly crushed the air in his palm, emitting a piercing "pop" sonic boom.

There was no need to transform into [Four Arms], nor did he need to embody [Humungousaur]. Lynn had an extremely certain intuition that now, even using only this seemingly well-proportioned human shell, he was enough to punch through the front armor of the S.H.I.E.L.D. Helicarrier with one blow.

"30% progress, and it's already at this level."

Lynn felt the terrifying power within his body that seemed inexhaustible, a satisfied sneer curling the corners of his mouth.

If the progress reached 100% and he unlocked the final [Ultimate Creator Authority], he could even crush the Milky Way Galaxy with one hand.

Lynn lowered his head and glanced at the Tesseract emitting a faint blue light in his right hand.

Aside from genes, this was his biggest gain tonight.

"One thing is still missing."

Lynn raised his right hand, his mind stirring.

He forcibly extracted a wisp of energy from the Tesseract. The air in front of the Stark Tower rooftop instantly rippled like water, and a miniature spatial rift the size of just one arm formed out of thin air.

The other end of the rift precisely connected to the top-floor office of the Fisk Tower a few blocks away.

Lynn reached his left hand into the spatial rift and retrieved the Mind Stone-embedded scepter directly from his own desk.

"Swish."

The rift closed.

Lynn held the Mind Stone in his left hand and the Tesseract in his right. The light of the two Infinity Stones reflected off each other on his body, setting him off like a demon god in control of the laws of the Universe.

Just then.

"Buzz— Buzz—"

From the dilapidated stairwell came heavy footsteps and the roaring sound of thrusters struggling to operate.

The Avengers had arrived.

Tony Stark, wearing an Iron Man suit with half its outer armor detached and sparking everywhere, flew onto the rooftop unsteadily and landed heavily on the ground.

Following closely behind were Black Widow Natasha and Hawkeye Barton, who climbed up the stairs.

Even Captain America Steve, with heavy medical braces on both arms, walked onto the rooftop with difficulty, supported by Natasha.

Finally, a faint flash of lightning crossed the sky.

Thor, charred all over and with even his iconic red cape half-burned away, held the dim Mjolnir and crashed heavily to the ground from mid-air.

The Avengers six-member group, except for Dr. Banner who had been beaten into autism and had turned back into a human, the other five were all assembled.

However, this team of superheroes, who should have shone brightly in the Battle of New York, appeared incomparably miserable and disheveled at this moment.

They did not save the World.

They were merely bystanders to this feast of slaughter.

Tony swallowed a mouthful of dry saliva and looked up.

The sunlight was blinding.

The man in the black shirt was standing at the very edge of the rooftop.

Under his feet were tens of thousands of Chitauri corpses that had lost their signs of life. His left hand held the scepter that could control human hearts, and his right hand held the Tesseract that could tear through space.

He stood there quietly, looking down at the arriving Avengers from a high position. In those deep black pupils, there was no hostility, not even vigilance.

There was only the purest disregard and indifference, as if he were looking at ants on the side of the road.

The cold wind blew across the rooftop.

The Avengers gripped their respective broken weapons, but not a single one of them dared to be the first to speak.

Because they knew very well that standing in front of them was a monster who had just treated a nuclear bomb as a meal and blown apart an interstellar fleet with a backhand shot.

Lynn played with the Tesseract in his hand, scanning the group of superhero strays like lost dogs from his high vantage point.
