50: Chapter 50 Tensions Rise: Who Do You Think You Are?
The air was thick with the acrid smell of gunpowder and the stench of alien blood.
Lynn toyed with the two Infinity Stones in his hands, his black eyes indifferently overlooking the scene below.
At the top of the stairs, a gaunt, ragged middle-aged man climbed up, panting.
Dr. Banner.
With this, the six members of the Avengers had truly assembled in the ruins of the Battle of New York.
Yet, their stance was filled with an ironically humble sense of inferiority.
Iron Man's armor was damaged, Captain America's arms were crippled, Thor was charred, Black Widow and Hawkeye were out of ammunition, and Banner didn't even have the courage to transform.
These six superheroes, representing the strongest combat power on Earth, could only support each other at this moment, looking up at the black-haired youth on the edge of the rooftop who resembled a demon god.
"Lynn..."
Captain America Steve took a deep breath, enduring the intense pain from the metal braces on his arms, and took a step forward.
He looked at the Tesseract and the Mind Stone in Lynn's hands, his eyes filled with deep apprehension.
"The war is over. Hand over those two things. The energy they contain is too dangerous; it doesn't belong to any individual and must be sealed away."
Steve tried to use his usual moral high ground to control the situation.
"The Captain is right."
Tony Stark's faceplate retracted, revealing a face covered in blood and exhaustion.
He raised his only remaining functional repulsor, aiming it at Lynn.
"Put down the Tesseract. S.H.I.E.L.D. has specialized containment facilities. As for you... considering you actually wiped out the alien fleet, we can let you leave."
Tony's voice was tight; he didn't even believe this statement could threaten the other party.
"Mortal! That is a treasure of Asgard!"
Although weak, Thor still gripped Mjolnir tightly, his eyes fixed on the Tesseract.
"I need it to take Loki back to Asgard to stand trial, and I need it to repair the Bifrost Bridge. Give it back to me!"
Listening to the righteous demands of these people, Lynn suddenly laughed.
It was a cold laugh, as if he had heard an incredibly absurd joke.
"Containment? Give it back to you?"
Lynn shook his head, his gaze sweeping over the Avengers like they were idiots, the mockery on his lips undisguised.
"You bunch of losers, did that unexploded nuke burn your brains out?"
As soon as these words were spoken, the faces of the six Avengers instantly turned extremely ugly.
"That fleet in the sky was wiped out by me with a single shot."
"The three-megaton nuke your masters launched was swallowed by me in one bite."
Lynn took a step forward with every sentence.
The terrifying pressure he exuded, having been upgraded to 30% progress on the Bloodtrix, was like a humanoid tyrannosaur, crushing the heart of every Avenger.
"Now that the crisis is resolved, you cripples who can't even protect yourselves are coming to talk to me about ownership?"
Just then.
"Rumble—!"
A violent roar of engines suddenly came from the sky.
A heavily modified black S.H.I.E.L.D. quinjet, covered in a dense network of firepower, tore through the clouds like a ferocious raptor and hovered above the rooftop of Stark Tower.
The cabin door slammed open.
"Bang!"
A three-meter-tall, pitch-black alien symbiote monster with a bloody mouth—the "Venom Hound"—slammed onto the rooftop like a black meteorite!
The Mad Dog let out a vicious roar at the Avengers, its sharp fangs dripping with foul-smelling saliva.
Immediately after, The Punisher, Frank Castle, wearing a black tactical vest, slid down from the cabin while carrying an exaggeratedly large Chitauri heavy plasma cannon.
Frank walked behind and to the side of Lynn without expression, aiming the plasma cannon directly at Tony and Steve's heads.
The muzzle charged with blue light frantically.
"Boss."
Frank bowed his head in greeting, his voice cold.
"Hells Kitchen has been cleaned up. Not a single alien bug survived."
Lynn nodded slightly.
He held the Mind Stone in his left hand and the Tesseract in his right, with the most iron-blooded killer and the most brutal monster in New York standing behind him.
In comparison, the battered "superheroes" opposite them looked like a group of homeless people trying to stir up trouble.
"Do you see clearly now?"
Lynn looked down at Steve, his voice as piercing as ice from the Far North.
"This World was saved by me as an afterthought."
"The spoils of war are mine."
A suffocating, violent murderous intent suddenly erupted from Lynn's black eyes.
"Whoever has an opinion, come up and die now."
Deathly silence.
Tony gritted his teeth, the charging sound of his repulsor sounding extremely harsh in the quiet rooftop, but he couldn't bring himself to press the firing button.
Facing Lynn at this moment, firing was equivalent to suicide.
Dr. Banner stepped back in fear.
Natasha and Hawkeye were so frozen that their movements to draw their guns were stuck in mid-air.
The absolute gap in strength made them feel deep despair.
However.
The heir to Asgard, Thor, whose mind was clouded by arrogance, clearly could not accept this extreme humiliation.
"Mortal, you are too arrogant!"
Thor roared.
Although he had lost most of his divine power, the honor of Asgard made it impossible for him to tolerate an Earthling riding on the heads of gods.
"Boom!"
Thor swung Mjolnir violently, his legs exerting force, and he rushed toward Lynn like a cannonball, attempting to forcefully take back the Tesseract with his divine physique.
"Thor! Don't!"
Steve was shocked.
Facing the aggressive Thor.
The Mad Dog behind Lynn wanted to pounce and bite, but was stopped by Lynn raising his hand.
"Seeking death."
Lynn didn't even trigger any transformation form.
He just stood in place and slowly raised his right hand.
Supported by his powerful physical body from the 30% progress on the Bloodtrix, Lynn extremely brutally injected his own energy into the Tesseract in his right hand.
"Buzz—!!!"
The Tesseract instantly erupted with a blindingly brilliant deep blue light.
An irresistible force of space law gathered frantically at Lynn's fingertips.
Just as Thor's hammer was about to smash into Lynn's face.
Lynn just casually snapped his fingers.
"Swish!"
The air directly in front of Thor suddenly shattered like glass.
A deep blue space portal with a diameter of two meters opened abruptly under Thor's feet without warning!
Thor couldn't brake at all; he and his hammer fell headfirst into the bottomless portal.
"Bang."
The portal closed instantly.
Only a few drops of slightly salty seawater remained in the air.
The rooftop fell into silence again.
"Jar... Jarvis..."
Tony widened his eyes, his voice trembling.
"That space fluctuation just now... where did Thor go?"
"Sir."
Jarvis's mechanical voice also carried a trace of obvious stuttering.
"According to the tracking of residual spatial signals... Mr. Thor's current coordinates... are in the center of the Atlantic Ocean, above the Mariana Trench, eight thousand meters underwater."
Eight thousand meters underwater.
Even for a god, under such terrifying deep-sea pressure and oxygen-deprived conditions, if he couldn't fly out in time, he would lose a layer of skin.
The brains of the remaining five Avengers went completely blank.
Casually manipulating the Space Stone with one hand, and banishing Thor to the deep sea with a snap of his fingers!
This wasn't a battle at all; this was a dimensional suppression as casual as crushing an ant!
Lynn lowered his right hand, the light of the Tesseract slowly receding.
He raised his black eyes, which held no emotional fluctuation, and swept them over the remaining Captain America, Iron Man, and Black Widow.
"One is down."
A demonic smile curled on the corner of Lynn's lips.
"Who else among you wants to go to the sea to sober up?"
