15: Chapter 15 Death Flash Star!
"Rat-tat-tat-tat!"
Over a hundred automatic weapons opened fire simultaneously, instantly shredding the remaining wooden doors and stained glass of the church.
The dense rain of bullets was like a metal storm, sending wood chips flying from the pews and the altar.
Frank hid behind a thick stone pillar. He leaned out halfway, and the dark red Ion Laser Gun in his hand let out a low hum.
"Swoosh—!"
A deep blue high-energy beam swept out.
The seven or eight gangsters rushing at the front, along with the bulletproof shields in their hands, were instantly vaporized in the beam, leaving only a charred trench on the ground.
The gangsters' offensive on the perimeter faltered.
But just at the moment Frank was preparing to fire again.
"Cling!"
An extremely tiny specialized dart shot in from the rainy night outside the door, precisely hitting the brass chandelier at the top of the church. The dart changed its trajectory, refracting downward at an inconceivable angle, heading straight for Frank's right wrist holding the gun!
Frank had extremely strong war instincts and jerked his hand back.
"Thwack!"
The dart grazed the back of his hand and nailed into the stone pillar, bringing with it a trail of blood. If he had been a tenth of a second slower, the tendons in his right hand would have been severed.
"Nice dodge."
Outside the church doors, the gaunt Bullseye stepped inside through the puddles on the ground. He held several playing cards and darts in his hand, his gaze crossing the stone pillar to lock onto Lynn standing in the open space.
"Over a hundred guns, plus me. No matter how tough your skin is, how many seconds can you last?" Bullseye sneered.
Following his words, over a hundred heavy gunmen poured in from the doors and windows, completely surrounding Lynn and Frank.
The dark muzzles of the guns formed a web of firepower with no blind spots.
"Fire!" Bullseye issued the execution order.
"Bang! Bang! Bang!"
The muzzle flashes illuminated the church.
But Lynn didn't look at the incoming bullets.
He slowly raised his right hand and slapped it onto the glowing red inverted triangle emblem on his left wrist.
"Click."
The sound of mechanical engagement rang out.
[Command Recognized: Form Switch.]
[Third Alien Gene Bank, Unlocked!]
A blinding scarlet light instantly erupted from the Bloodtrix, completely engulfing Lynn's body.
Within the light, Lynn's bones let out a series of dense explosive pops. His body was no longer as massive as Four Arms, but instead became extremely slender and streamlined.
[Alien Gene Activated: XLR8 (God of Death Variant)!]
The red light dissipated.
Standing in place was a humanoid creature completely covered in a pitch-black exoskeleton.
His legs presented a strange reverse-jointed structure, his feet gone, replaced by two incomparably sharp dark red Blade Wheels. His head was covered by a fully enclosed streamlined black mask, with only a long, narrow scarlet light strip glowing in the center of the mask.
Cold, sharp, like an ultimate weapon born for slaughter.
"Playing tricks!" A hint of wariness flashed in Bullseye's eyes as he suddenly threw out six throwing knives, aiming straight for Lynn's vitals.
At the same time, the bullets from over a hundred gunmen also poured in.
But just at the moment the bullets and throwing knives were about to touch the black exoskeleton.
World, quieted down.
In the scarlet vision behind Lynn's mask, time seemed to fall into absolute stasis.
No, it wasn't that time had stopped, but that his nerve reflexes and movement speed had stepped into a realm that carbon-based lifeforms could not comprehend.
In mid-air.
Raindrops were suspended like translucent beads.
The flames spitting from the muzzles were frozen like orange-red ice sculptures.
The throwing knives Bullseye had thrown crawled slowly through the air like snails. Those rifle bullets shot toward Lynn clearly displayed the rifling marks on their tails, suspended in mid-air.
"Too slow."
Lynn's voice rang out inside the enclosed mask.
His reverse-jointed legs bent slightly, and the dark red Blade Wheels kicked lightly off the ground.
"Swish!"
Lynn disappeared.
He strolled leisurely through the frozen rain of bullets. He walked in front of several gangster gunmen shooting at Frank, reached out his finger encased in black armor, and lightly flicked the tails of those suspended bullets.
Changing their trajectories.
Then, Lynn turned into a black and red afterimage, rushing into the crowd of gangsters on the perimeter.
The Blade Wheels on his reverse-jointed legs became the most terrifying cutting machines.
...
In the normal flow of time.
The sneer on Bullseye's face hadn't even fully spread before it completely froze.
Because the target in his line of sight had vanished into thin air. No movement, no trajectory, just a physical "disappearance."
"Pfft! Pfft! Pfft!"
In the next second, a hair-raising scene appeared.
The throwing knives Bullseye had thrown inexplicably reversed direction in mid-air, precisely piercing the throats of five of his confidants beside him!
At the same time, the bullets those gangsters had fired actually drew strange arcs in the air, all reflecting back and blowing out the heads of the shooters themselves!
"How could..."
A gangster leader was just about to cry out in alarm.
An extremely piercing sonic boom exploded inside the church.
A black hurricane swept through the crowd.
There were no screams.
Because the cutting speed was too fast, so fast that vocal cords simply didn't have time to vibrate.
Wherever the black hurricane passed, the bodies of dozens of fully armed gang members were instantly displaced. Some upper bodies slowly slid off, some were cut in half at the waist, and some arms holding guns were severed at the root.
At the smooth cuts, the blood even paused for a second before erupting toward the sky like fountains!
"Monster... Ghost!!"
The remaining dozens of gunmen completely broke down, dropping their weapons and fleeing out of the church like madmen.
But that black afterimage kicked off the wall for leverage, instantly cutting off their retreat.
Blade Wheels flew.
Severed limbs fell like a torrential rain along with the blood.
In just three short seconds.
Over a hundred heavily armed gangsters were completely annihilated. The church floor was thoroughly stained red with blood.
"Thud."
With a soft sound.
The black God of Death, without a single drop of blood on him, stopped once again in front of Bullseye. That scarlet light strip on the mask gazed at him coldly.
Bullseye was frozen stiff.
The "absolute precision" he was so proud of, his dynamic vision that far exceeded normal people, was simply a joke in front of this black monster. He hadn't even seen clearly how his subordinates had died.
Extreme fear made him lose his reason.
"Die!!!"
Bullseye frantically pulled out two large-caliber handguns from his waist, emptying the magazines at Lynn in front of him.
"Click, click, click."
The handguns made the sound of an empty chamber.
Lynn didn't move an inch, yet all the bullets Bullseye had fired were actually caught between Lynn's slender black fingers.
"Your accuracy is good," Lynn said, clenching his five fingers and crushing the bullets into copper dust, "unfortunately, accuracy is meaningless in the face of speed."
Bullseye's psychological defenses completely collapsed.
He threw away the handguns and turned to run. He only wanted to escape this church, escape this monster that made him feel deep despair.
He suddenly turned around and stepped out with his right leg.
"Thump."
Bullseye fell heavily onto the blood-soaked floor, shattering his jaw.
"What's going on? Did my leg get tripped?"
Bullseye looked back in terror.
Then, he saw the most terrifying scene he had ever seen in his life.
Behind him, there were no legs.
His legs, from below the knees, were still standing straight in their original place.
And he was left with only the upper half of his thighs.
In the instant Lynn had stopped his pace, he had already used the Blade Wheels on his legs to sever Bullseye's knees. It was only because the blade edge was too sharp and the speed too fast that Bullseye's brain hadn't even had time to receive the pain signals from his severed legs!
It wasn't until he tried to run and fell that the blood vessels at the wounds suddenly burst, and blood sprayed wildly.
"AAAAAAAH—!!!"
The delayed agony finally flooded Bullseye's nerves like a tsunami. He looked at his severed legs left in place and let out a shrill scream like a stuck pig, rolling frantically in the pool of blood.
Lynn looked down from above at the screaming Bullseye, a cold light flashing in the scarlet strip beneath the mask.
"Be quiet."
"I still have a use for you."
