"Haven't you always wanted to go down to The Surface to investigate the Ground People? Do you want to meet them?"

"Ground People?" Mark's mind was still on Ran Bing going to the Hall of Dawn today; the sudden shift to Ground People left him a bit slow to react.

Jing Yuan shouted toward the hole in the ceiling, "You folks up there, you've been watching for so long. Why not come down and chat?"

On the ceiling.

Summer Bean said with a look of surprise, "That person is telling us to go down."

Great Mountain also said in confusion, "From the looks of it, he doesn't seem surprised by our existence at all."

Star Shatterer looked at Bai Yuekui. "He even called out 'Boss Bai' just now! I thought I heard wrong!"

Bai Yuekui searched her memory for everyone she had ever met and didn't seem to recognize this person.

If he weren't an old acquaintance, how could he be so calm and even know her identity?

"Let's go! Since we're here to take K04 anyway, there's no harm in going down to meet him."

Summer Bean pouted and said, "Boss Bai, the man has a name; it's Mark. The people on the Big Pot Lid call him by his name. It's not very polite of you to always use a code name."

The five-person team was about to head down when something strange happened below.

A mass of Mana Mud silently wrapped around and entangled Jing Yuan and Mark.

Jing Yuan's attention was focused above, and he didn't notice the Mana Mud on the ground at all.

And Jing Yuan had no experience dealing with Mana Mud.

Fortunately, Mark was beside him.

He was wearing a gravity body; the Mana Mud enveloped the gravity body, but Mark performed an emergency ejection.

Mark pulled out his handgun and fired at the Mana Mud.

Although the bullets could break the Mana Mud's connections, it quickly rejoined.

Mark rushed to the side, picked up a gravity body war blade, and activated the Plasma Light Blade.

Seeing Jing Yuan about to be covered by Mana Mud, Mark raised the war blade and aimed at the base of the Mana Mud entangling him.

Just as the war blade was about to fall, Mark's gravity body, Daybreak, suddenly rushed over and knocked Mark away.

Jing Yuan looked at the gravity body in disbelief.

At this moment, the gravity body was filled with Mana Mud; it was the Mana Mud controlling the gravity body's movements.

Mark was knocked into a wall, which crumbled and buried him.

Driven by the Mana Mud, the gravity body charged forward.

Just then, a figure appeared beside Jing Yuan.

Jing Yuan forgot his despair as he saw hope.

But looking closely, it was 4068!

He actually hadn't retreated yet!

4068 approached the edge of the Mana Mud, and it didn't attack him.

4068 threw a transparent glass bottle containing some red gas.

"It's crimson toxin!"

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw 4068 run to the other side and throw another glass bottle of crimson toxin at Mark.

However, Mark burst out from the rubble a step ahead of him, using the war blade in his hand to fight the gravity body controlled by the Mana Mud.

4068 missed his Mark, was paralyzed with fear by the Mana Mud, and quickly fled the hall.

After inhaling the crimson toxin, Jing Yuan's mind began to cloud, and his body was continuously surrounded by Mana Mud.

The black armor's emergency response activated, automatically extending a helmet to wrap around Jing Yuan's head before the Mana Mud could.

At that moment, an incendiary bomb fell from the sky.
