172: Section 172

"So what?"

"Charles, what on earth are you thinking? Do you have to make such a scene?" Jing Nan first looked at Charles, then at Morgan. "Lord City Owner! Are you going to keep playing along with him?"

Morgan stared at Jing Nan. "This is for the survival of humanity!"

"I don't understand what you mean by 'the survival of humanity'! If it's because of the Ground People, what we should do is understand them first, not blindly reject them! If you wanted Charles to succeed as the City Owner, then you shouldn't have chosen Marc in the first place. What good does making such a scene do for you now!"

"Jing Nan," Charles said, "you don't understand at all. I have received an oracle from the lord of light and shadow. Their actions will destroy the last of humanity. So, we must stop them!"

"Hmph!" Jing Nan sneered. "You're starting to believe in the lord of light and shadow now?"

A complex expression appeared on Jing Nan's face. "I beg you both to stop. If this continues, I won't be able to protect you this time!"

"Oh?" Charles asked with great interest. "I'd like to know, exactly how did you protect us from being killed by Jing Yuan? By going to the Hall of Dawn with him again?"

"Charles!" Jing Nan roared.

Charles stopped looking at Jing Nan and spoke toward the main controls of the Navigation Control Room. "Navigate the Lighthouse to the settlement of the Ground People!"

Before coming, Charles had already learned that the place where the Lighthouse was currently hovering was only a forward base for the Ground People. Their living settlement was still further ahead.

"What? Can't you hear me?"

"Charles! What are you trying to do?" Even Morgan was somewhat surprised. According to the previous arrangements with the reactionaries, they were supposed to lead the Lighthouse in an escape!

*Crack!*

Without hesitation, Charles executed another staff member in the Navigation Control Room.

"Those who don't obey must die!"

Charles looked at Jing Nan again and said, "You thought we were going to flee with the Lighthouse?" He shook his head and said, "I'll stay right here and wait for Jing Yuan and Marc to come! We'll see who exactly will die this time!"

"Tie Jing Nan up, and kill the rest who won't obey!"

Charles gave the order to fire immediately.

*Bang! Bang! Bang!*

After three consecutive shots, the other surviving staff members immediately surrendered.

"Don't kill me! Lord Leader, we'll do whatever you say!"

Behind Charles, Fan LΓΌ walked out, stood at the front, and issued orders: "Navigate the Lighthouse to the settlement of the Ground People!"

"Yes, yes, yes!"

The Navigation Control Room staff nodded repeatedly... Mo Dong escaped from the laboratory and immediately ran toward the Armament Preparation Depot.

The ordinary citizens on the way still had no idea what was happening.

As soon as Mo Dong entered the Armament Preparation Depot, he shouted loudly, "Everyone, grab your gear immediately! Prepare for battle!"

Gavin and Jeff walked out and hurriedly asked, "Mo Dong, what happened?"

"What's going on?" Ran Bing and Penny also walked over. Since Star Shatterer and Tasia were out on a mission, they had returned to the Lighthouse.

At this moment, they were still helping to train the recruits.

Mo Dong said in a panic, "Vandy escaped. She ran to the ecology lab and controlled a humanoid monster. She killed everyone in an instant!"

"What!"

Everyone was pale with shock. How could there be a humanoid monster on the Lighthouse?

Penny hurriedly asked, "Is it a Phage Beast?"

"I don't know. That monster is terrifying; it can blow someone's head off with a single punch!"

"Mo Dong, calm down!" Ran Bing hurriedly spoke to soothe him. "Think carefully, did you see a monster or a mecha?"

"A mecha?" The others were very confused. Only Mo Dong had seen the monster, but he didn't seem to have seen it clearly either.

However, they didn't have time to think back carefully.

Outside the Armament Preparation Depot, Senge and Victor arrived with the City Defense Force.

Looking at the large number of City Defense Force soldiers and the dozen or so gravity bodies behind them, the people in the Armament Preparation Depot were stunned.

Senge regained his usual arrogance and said to everyone, "By order of the City Owner, wipe out the Wasteland Hunters rebels!"

Ran Bing stepped forward and looked at Senge. "How could Marc give you such an order!"

Senge smiled triumphantly. "I'm talking about City Owner Morgan! Marc? He's just the Leader of the rebels! City Owner Morgan and Leader Charles have retaken power! The Leader said that any Wasteland Hunters rebels who kneel and surrender will be spared!"

Jeff rushed forward. "Just with you few?"

Senge looked left and right, spreading his hands. "We're just the audience!"

Behind them, a hideous figure suspended in the air slowly flew to the front.

He threw down a spherical object that rolled in front of the Wasteland Hunters. Upon closer inspection, it was actually Snow Peak's head.

"Snow Peak!" Gavin's eyes nearly split from rage as he shouted at the top of his lungs.

When the others saw it, they were also enraged to the extreme!

Gavin was the first to charge. Although he didn't know what that monster was, he had to avenge Snow Peak!

*Swish!*

The Abyss Depther simply waved its hand, and Gavin was sliced in half.

At this moment, everyone fell silent.

They were no match at all; there was no hope!

Mo Dong stood in front of Penny and Ran Bing, saying, "Go, quickly! Go find Jing Yuan!"

Mo Dong knew that none of them could deal with this monster; only Jing Yuan's arrival offered any hope.

Penny and Ran Bing didn't hesitate and immediately fled toward the back!

The Abyss Depther charged at Mo Dong, who couldn't even withstand a single move.

At that moment, Neil arrived piloting a gravity body.

But even a gravity body was no match for a single strike from the Abyss Depther.

Senge, standing to the side, was extremely smug, as if he were the one wearing the armor.

Seeing Penny and Ran Bing escaping, Senge immediately ordered, "Kill them! Don't let them escape!"

"Yes!"

Four or five City Defense Force soldiers began to pursue Penny and Ran Bing with guns.

Ran Bing's perception was powerful, and she nimbly dodged the bullets.

Although Penny's physical fitness had improved, her reactions were still a bit slower.

With one mistake, she was grazed by a bullet.

Ran Bing hurriedly pulled Penny behind a piece of cover.

Ran Bing said, "Penny, I'll cover you to get the locator, then you hurry to Dragon Bone Village to deliver the news!"

"Together!"

"No! If you take me, your teleportation distance will be limited, and neither of us will escape!"

Penny fell silent. It was true; if she carried someone, she couldn't teleport very far at all!

Ran Bing continued, "I've seen that thing in the Data Room. It's called the Abyss Depther, and Morgan stole it from one of the Ground People. Tell Jing Yuan this information so he can be prepared!"

"Okay! You be careful then!" Penny looked at Ran Bing with a face full of reluctance. She knew that once she left, life or death would be uncertain.

But as a soldier, she also knew that hesitating would only lead to more deaths.

So Penny hesitated no longer, immediately rushed into the Armament Preparation Depot, and grabbed her locator.

Meanwhile, Ran Bing held off those few City Defense Force soldiers for her.

Penny directly teleported away.

Using her marksman-like accuracy, Ran Bing shot and killed all the approaching soldiers.

Her actions also drew the attention of the Abyss Depther.

The Abyss Depther slowly floated in front of Ran Bing, red light glowing in its eyes as it slowly raised its hands... Penny teleported a long distance directly and arrived at the entrance of Dragon Bone Village.

She had intended to go into the village to seek help, and just then, Jing Yuan happened to return!

Chapter 175: Overpowering the Abyss Depther

After hearing Penny's words, Jing Yuan immediately prepared to return to the Lighthouse.

But Penny held him back and hurriedly said, "Don't be impulsive. That mecha of theirs is too powerful. If you go recklessly, it might be dangerous."
