66: Section 66

The third time, they directly removed their masks to carry out the Breeding Mission; it was a true Breeding Mission.

If only all of this were the work of fate.

But the fact that it was a human arrangement made it somewhat unacceptable for Penny.

Fortunately, however, that person was Jing Yuan.

"Penny, Charles's goal is to strengthen the connection between the two of us. That way, he can control me through you! So, I must let you know the truth!"

Penny hadn't even digested the previous information yet, and Jing Yuan's words made her brain stall again.

"Use me to control you? How?"

Chapter 67: Repairing the gravity body

Jing Yuan took a deep breath and said, "There are many ways! For example, when I took those three from the Light and Shadow Society to The Surface last time, it was because Charles used you to threaten me that I was forced to agree."

"How did he threaten you?"

"If I didn't agree, he would have arranged for you and other Upper Citizens to go to the Hall of Dawn."

Penny recalled that when they were on The Surface, that guy named Locke always looked at her with a strange gaze.

Finally, when he mentioned "going to the Hall of Dawn," Jing Yuan couldn't help but slap him.

So that was the reason!

"Do you care about me that much?" Penny asked.

"Of course!" Jing Yuan said without a second thought.

Penny suddenly looked at Jing Yuan, tears of emotion welling up in her eyes.

This time, Penny couldn't control her emotions and took the initiative to kiss Jing Yuan.

Jing Yuan was stunned by the sudden kiss.

The two kissed deeply for a long time, reaching a point where they were once again overwhelmed by passion.

Jing Yuan was about to take off his clothes, but Penny suddenly stopped him.

"No! Not these few days!"

Jing Yuan finally remembered, covering his head with an embarrassed smile.

"Sorry, I almost lost control."

"Me too."

Jing Yuan was indeed flustered by what had just happened. He gathered his thoughts and continued, "I suspect that in order to control me, Charles will definitely try to manipulate things through you. If he arranges for you to perform a Breeding Mission with another Upper Citizen, would you accept?"

"Do you think I should accept?"

Jing Yuan fell silent for a moment. After all, his relationship with Penny was just that of colleagues who had performed a Breeding Mission together in the Hall of Dawn.

On the Lighthouse, this didn't count as an intimate relationship.

He couldn't make the decision for Penny.

Jing Yuan said, "As long as you say you're unwilling, I will tear down the Hall of Dawn for you."

Penny was deeply moved by these words and threw her arms around Jing Yuan.

Penny thought to herself that even if he was just boasting, hearing such words made her happy.

Little did she know, Jing Yuan actually had the power to tear down the Hall of Dawn now.

It's just that unless it came to that, there was no need to fall out completely.

"Penny?"

A knock suddenly came from the door outside.

Penny was startled, her eyes filled with panic.

Jing Yuan also looked around to see if there was anywhere to hide in the room.

Unfortunately, the room was too small; there was nowhere at all.

"Penny, are you there?"

Jing Yuan heard that the voice belonged to a girl and then asked, "Who is it?"

"It's Ran Bing!"

Jing Yuan smiled and said, "It's Ran Bing, it's fine."

With that, Jing Yuan walked over and opened the door.

Outside the door, Ran Bing, with her short white hair, was utterly stunned. Why was there a man in Penny's room?

"Hello, Ran Bing!"

"Jing Yuan, why are you here?"

"I came to talk to Penny about something."

Ran Bing peeked inside at Penny, who was currently flushed red and smiling awkwardly.

"I'll head out first. You go ahead and talk to her!"

Jing Yuan brushed past Ran Bing, leaving the stunned girl standing there.

Ran Bing turned back to look at Penny in the room, then rushed in, closed the door, and began a round of "interrogation"... Research Department.

Jing Nan and Jessica were performing maintenance on a gravity body together.

Jing Nan looked absent-minded.

The scene in the Hall of Dawn last night had felt very wonderful to her.

As a high-ranking official of the Lighthouse, she understood some basic common sense, but those were merely things from books.

She had never imagined that actually performing a Breeding Mission would be such a marvelous experience.

At the thought of this, her face involuntarily flushed red again.

"Jing Nan," Jessica called out softly.

Jing Nan didn't react.

Seeing her dazing off with a red face, Jessica wondered if... "Lady Jing Nan!" Jessica raised her voice.

Jing Nan snapped out of it and asked, "What's wrong?"

"The motor of this gravity body is excessively worn. Whose gravity body is this..." Jessica gave a weird smile and suddenly changed the subject, asking, "Did you go to the Hall of Dawn?"

Jing Nan looked startled and looked around; fortunately, it was just the two of them.

As for going to the Hall of Dawn, Jessica had experience; she had been there countless times.

Seeing Jing Nan's expression, Jessica didn't even need to hear her answer to understand everything.

"I knew it!" Jessica smirked. "How did it feel?"

"I didn't feel much."

"You didn't feel much?" Hearing this answer, Jessica said indignantly, "Was the man you performed the mission with no good?"

"That's not it..." Jing Nan looked up at Jessica. How did they end up talking about this? She hurriedly said, "Just focus on your work."

Jessica didn't mind and laughed, "If it's not that he's no good, then it must be that you had no experience for your first time. It's okay, everyone's like that the first time; it gets better later."

Jing Nan looked at Jessica and smiled, "You seem to have a lot of experience."

"Of course..." Jessica suddenly looked at Jing Nan with doubt. "Isn't it said that high-level talents like you don't have to do Breeding Missions? Why were you arranged to go to the Hall of Dawn?"

"I've reached the age," Jing Nan said simply.

Jessica understood upon hearing this. She was about the same age as Jing Nan. Over the years, she had been to the Hall of Dawn many times, yet this was Jing Nan's first time.

Although the missions in the Hall of Dawn were merely Breeding Missions for population replenishment, superior genes must be passed down.

"By the way, do you know who the person you did the mission with was?" Jessica asked again.

"I don't know."

There were only so many people on the Lighthouse; even if you met an acquaintance wearing a mask, you might recognize them. Even if they weren't an acquaintance, if you ran into them later, there was a certain probability you'd recognize them.

But even if she did recognize him, so what?

Jing Nan glanced at Jessica and quickly changed the subject, "Just focus on your work! What were you saying just now?"

Jessica pointed at the gravity body and said, "Who is piloting this gravity body? Why is the wear and tear so severe? It looks like it's been used very intensely!"

"This gravity body was just modified and sent to the Wasteland Hunters. It should be Jing Yuan who's piloting it!" Jing Nan looked at the gravity body. "Yes! It's his. He requested that the close-combat performance be pushed to the extreme. Perhaps that's why the wear is so severe."

Jessica checked the data and said, "We need to invite him to come over."

"What's wrong?"
