11: Chapter 11 The Cicada Awaits

The next afternoon.

It was mid-afternoon on the western side of the Andes, and the sun was blazing high.

The sun was scorching, and sand whipped through the air.

The roadside trees seemed unable to lift their heads under the oppressive heat of the sun.

Twenty off-road vehicles and ten vans were speeding down the highway, driving against the blazing sun.

In the largest off-road vehicle, Moriarty was puffing away on a cigar.

The stunning Mona sat beside him, dressed in a long-sleeved white shirt; even her oversized sunglasses could not hide her exquisite face.

Mona usually held down the fort at The Emperors Place Bar and rarely participated in outings.

But because she couldn't stop thinking about Zhang Shan, she had come to the suburbs of Saint Jacques, ready to meet this Robinson once more.

A scarred, bald man sat in the front passenger seat of Moriarty's car.

A scar slashed down from his left forehead, across the bridge of his nose, and down to his right jaw.

It was incredibly lucky that he had survived looking like that.

But with his fierce expression and that terrifying scar, the bald man could probably stop children from crying at night just by looking at them.

"5 million us dollars!"

"Boss, if that so-called Robinson is a fraud, or one of Katas's men, we're going to lose a fortune!"

The scarred, bald man roared in the car, sounding every bit the rough-hewn brute.

However, as they say, even a rough man can be meticulous. It seemed this bald man wanted to emulate Zhang Fei and worry about things his boss hadn't considered.

"Gustav, just shut up. You've been yelling the whole way. If you don't want to be here, then get lost!"

Mona, perhaps truly fed up with hearing him, snapped sharply.

Upon hearing Mona's words, the scarred, bald man—Gustav—finally clamped his mouth shut.

Looking as if he had just committed a grave error, he shrank back into the passenger seat, furrowing his brows.

The contrast was so stark that the driver nearly laughed out loud.

"It seems little Nana is the one with the authority. He won't even listen when I tell him to shut up."

Moriarty put down his cigar and teased Gustav, who just rolled his eyes at him.

"Don't worry. If he's one of Katas's men, I'll swallow yesterday's stinger missile!"

"If Katas were willing to use a stinger missile to lure me, he wouldn't be going through all this trouble."

"He could just use a stinger to blow up The Emperors Place Bar and be done with it, right?"

Moriarty analyzed it for Gustav once more, his words laced with a hint of excitement.

He had thought about it all night and felt more and more that Robinson was no simple character.

Perhaps if he could latch onto Robinson's "coattails," he wouldn't even have to worry about the Zhili Country government in the future.

But Moriarty was their boss, after all, and he couldn't let his subordinates know about such petty thoughts.

Otherwise, it would make him look like a total coward.

If not for Gustav's years of unwavering loyalty—that terrifying scar was earned saving Moriarty's life—he would have thrown him out of the car long ago.

Gustav had heard about this extraordinary man, Robinson, last night, and insisted on coming along today, ostensibly to protect Moriarty and Mona.

Moriarty was naturally at ease with that.

He knew that anyone like Robinson who could casually produce stinger missiles would certainly not fob him off with inferior goods, and there would definitely be opportunities for future cooperation.

So, it wouldn't hurt to let his capable subordinates make contact with Robinson in advance.

This would avoid any potential conflicts if his men decided to bully Robinson for being young.

Although he was a king and hegemon in Saint Jacques, he only had about a thousand men under his command. In the eyes of transnational families, that wasn't even a drop in the bucket.

But in this world, it wasn't just Zhang Shan and Moriarty who were excited.

The world develops along multiple lines, and everyone thinks they are the protagonist.

The transaction between Zhang Shan and Moriarty had also stirred up excitement in someone else.

A small storm, incited by Zhang Shan, was finally about to break.

...

Just as Moriarty was driving toward the warehouse where Zhang Shan was located, another suburb of Saint Jacques was also a hive of activity.

Inside a villa filled with the Western European style of Sipanya, hidden beneath the beautiful scenery, were soldiers armed to the teeth.

This was the residence of Katas, the leader of the Sipanya Mafia who had come from across the continent to NM.

Although Katas had become a leader, he was not old, appearing to be only in his early forties.

In this era of advanced technology, he was in his prime.

At this moment, Katas was swimming in the pool, his muscles glistening under the reflection of the sun and the water.

It was a pity that such a toned physique had no woman to appreciate it.

Because there were no beauties in bikinis around Katas.

Instead, a dozen burly men were standing guard; they were all well-trained retired soldiers.

It was clear that Katas hadn't reached his current position by being a good-for-nothing!

Katas had climbed out of the pool and was wiping himself down with a bath towel.

Seeing that Katas has finished resting, an intelligence officer from the Sipanya Mafia hurried forward to report.

"Master Ka, the mole we planted near Moriarty just provided us with a crucial piece of intelligence."

"At 3 PM, Moriarty is heading back to the suburbs of the Andes to trade with a new arms dealer."

"I hear it's a massive deal. Moriarty has prepared five million us dollars in cash!"

After the intelligence officer finished speaking, he stood quietly to the side, waiting for Katas's instructions.

"An arms trade? A new arms dealer?"

"It seems that the Sipanya Mafia, and my own reputation, aren't enough!"

"When I came to Zhili Country, I warned a group of arms dealers not to trade with the small-time trash in Saint Jacques."

"Once we become the bosses of Saint Jacques, they'll naturally get their cut."

"It seems some people really care more about money than their own lives!"

Katas calmly put on his clothes. Although he spoke those words, he didn't seem to care at all.

"Are you sure it's a new arms dealer? Not some trick cooked up by that trash?"

Katas asked the intelligence officer.

"We've confirmed it's someone new. The name is Robinson."

"We've looked into his background. He's supposedly from Zhili, but it must be a fake identity!"

"Because we've never seen him before, and he hasn't appeared in any previous databases."

The intelligence officer continued respectfully.

"Haha!"

"Is this a deus ex machina from an ancient play? Does God not want to see Moriarty perish, so He sent an angel to protect him?"

Upon hearing the intelligence officer's words, Katas laughed instead of getting angry, as if he had heard something hilarious.

"Something strange is definitely going on."

"Where are they meeting for the transaction?"

"Keep a close eye on Moriarty for me!"

"Moriarty's head won't be able to escape Saint Jacques!"
