37: Chapter 37 A Long-Awaited Reunion

Zhang Shan originally wanted to take Gu Nan back to the aircraft carrier; after all, his newly purchased house hadn't been renovated yet, and there was nowhere for him to go.

Zhang Shan looked at Gu Nan's attire with disdain.

"You look like a scavenger, it really damages my image. To be honest, I don't even want you to get in my car."

Gu Nan scratched his head, feeling a bit awkward.

"What the hell are you scratching for? You won't stop scratching." The irritable Zhang Shan came online.

"Well, my whole body is itching, isn't it? How long has it been since I last took a shower? Instead of looking down on me, why don't you let me take a shower!" Gu Nan jumped up in agitation after being looked down upon.

"Do you think I don't have a temper? Have you forgotten that I'm a germaphobe? But haven't I endured it all? And yet you keep looking down on me."

Making a gesture, Gu Nan pretended to cry.

"Get lost!" Zhang Shan kicked Gu Nan.

Sitting outside the bathhouse, Zhang Shan felt like he was suffering a sin. He couldn't seem to get rid of this guy.

In truth, Zhang Shan still didn't completely trust Gu Nan. After all, it had been a long time, and he didn't know what Gu Nan had been doing during this period.

He had the strongman play back the record of Gu Nan's experiences over this period in detail again. He watched it carefully a few more times, and only then did he truly set his mind at ease regarding Gu Nan.

It was as if the heavy stone in his heart had finally landed.

After taking a shower, Gu Nan felt refreshed. He finally didn't have to live a life of hiding anymore; it was great!

But Zhang Shan was still looking at him with disdain.

Gu Nan instantly jumped up.

"I've already washed up, I'm clean. Could you stop looking at me with that expression? It's so damaging to my self-esteem."

Zhang Shan had a hundred ways to make Gu Nan jump, and the same went for Gu Nan.

The night grew darker, and neon lights still flickered in every corner of the city.

Zhang Shan handed Gu Nan an eye mask.

Seeing the eye mask, Gu Nan understood. Zhang Shan couldn't be sure what he had gone through during this time, so it was fine for him to be vigilant.

He calmly put on the eye mask without saying a word.

"Gu Nan, I..." Zhang Shan was uncharacteristically at a loss for words.

"No need to explain, I understand. There's no need for explanations between us." Gu Nan generously helped Zhang Shan explain.

The car drove faster and faster. After a long time, they finally reached their destination. Zhang Shan led Gu Nan onto the aircraft carrier. Gu Nan took off the eye mask and was astonished to see the vast ocean and the aircraft carrier!

"Holy crap, amazing! Where did you get this thing?"

"None of your business! You just need to know that I'm amazing."

Zhang Shan looked proud.

Li Chao heard the noise and knew that Zhang Shan had returned.

"Run slower, run slower, don't run so fast. Be careful not to fall, be careful." Zhang Shan watched Li Chao running towards him, worriedly urging her.

Li Chao threw herself into Zhang Shan's arms, poking her head out to look at Gu Nan with a hint of vigilance.

"Zhao Zhao, let me introduce you, this is your Uncle Gu Nan."

Gu Nan looked at the cute, doll-like baby and was initially happy. But as soon as he heard Zhang Shan tell Li Chao to call him uncle, he wasn't happy anymore.

"I'm so young, is it appropriate for her to call me uncle? Be a good kid, call me Brother from now on!"

Gu Nan teased Li Chao with a straight face.

"Hello, Uncle." Li Chao called out to Gu Nan with a serious face.

Gu Nan looked like he was about to vomit blood, acting as if he had been deeply wronged.

"Hahaha, Gu Nan, you're really too funny. Zhao Zhao, give him some face."

Li Chao nodded obediently.

"Zhao Zhao, go back to sleep first. I have some things to discuss with your Brother Gu Nan."

Li Chao went back to her room, and Zhang Shan took Gu Nan to a secret room. He had specially built it, and its defense capability was level ten.

"Tell me, what exactly is the situation? This will determine whether or not I kill you."

Gu Nan found a chair and sat down.

"At that time, when I saw Victor's subordinate trying to snipe me, I had an impulse to kill him. But reason prevailed, and I kept following that person. Until one day, I finally discovered that he had met with someone from our organization."

Gu Nan sighed.

"You would never guess who that person is. He once fought side by side with us, but he betrayed us."

"Who is it? Tell me, I'm going to kill him."

Zhang Shan clenched his fists until they cracked.

"Don't think about killing him, because someone has already done it for us."

Zhang Shan looked puzzled, not knowing who would be so kind as to avenge them.

"I caught him and interrogated him. He couldn't hold on and told me there was a conspiracy. I asked him who their mastermind was. Just as he was about to say the name of their mastermind, he was sniped. Just that little bit more, and I would have been able to find out."

Gu Nan tapped the table angrily.

"Stop tapping, things are expensive. If you break it, you can't afford it."

Gu Nan had black lines on his face.

"Now I have found out that Victor is involved in this matter, but I haven't found out anything specific. With what you said today, one thing can be confirmed: we must have had some conflict of interest with them, which is why they wanted to kill us."

Zhang Shan analyzed logically.

"Yes, you're right. This must be hiding a huge conspiracy. We need to find out the truth as soon as possible, otherwise, it will be dangerous for us."

Zhang Shan suddenly stood up. "Let's have a hug, brother, reunited after a long time."

Upon hearing this, Gu Nan's eyes moistened. He knew that this meant Zhang Shan trusted him again. He had never thought that Zhang Shan would trust him again. Meeting Zhang Shan was also an accident.

The intimacy of a long-awaited reunion.

Early the next morning, Zhang Shan and Gu Nan prepared to take Zhao Zhao to school. Zhang Shan was like an old father, constantly nagging about something.

Gu Nan was speechless. He felt that the current Zhang Shan was a bit long-winded, with a bit of a mother hen attitude.

"Brother Shan, don't worry, I will take good care of Zhao Zhao." Mona promised Zhang Shan repeatedly, helplessly.

Oh! Right, why was Mona there? It was because she had found Zhang Shan and told him that she wanted to take care of Zhao Zhao, and promised that she would definitely treat Zhao Zhao well.

Zhang Shan trusted Mona; from her eyes, he could tell that she really liked Zhao Zhao.

After much effort, they arrived at the school gate, but Zhang Shan was still reluctant to let Zhao Zhao enter the school. It seemed like he wouldn't see this child for several days. Honestly, he was still a bit reluctant.

"Look at yourself now, you look just like a resentful woman. You're just sending a child to school, and you make it look like a tragic separation."

If there weren't so many people here, Gu Nan would have liked to kick Zhang Shan to death.

"Brother, don't worry, I will study hard. I won't cause you any trouble. Don't worry!"

Li Chao comforted Zhang Shan in turn, and Gu Nan, standing on the side, was truly shocked.

On the small path in the campus, the trees were lush and green, displaying vitality and energy.
