67: Chapter 67 Lifting a rock only to drop it on one's own foot
"Young man, if you keep stalling like this, do you believe I'll kill this person right now?" One of the gang leaders, unable to bear their indifferent attitude any longer, decided to show him with real action that if he didn't provide an explanation immediately, the next step would be that they might become corpses.
"Sigh, you all are really too impatient. And you also, hmm~ how should I put it? Too easily incited."
"Oh? How so?"
A path opened up in the crowd. It seemed this person held the most authority among them.
"Little brother, take your time. With me here, they won't do anything to you. But you must give us a reasonable explanation, otherwise, I won't be able to hold them back!" the man said unhurriedly.
"Thank you," Zhang Shan said earnestly.
"First of all, I must admit one thing: this batch of goods is indeed defective."
After Zhang Shan finished this sentence, the whole crowd erupted.
"How could you do this? We all came to buy because your products were good. To think you'd use defective goods to fool us! Do you think we're easy to bully?"
Zhang Shan's few words completely enraged everyone present.
Zhang Shan spread his hands to signal everyone to quiet down.
"I am a straightforward person. If I did something, I'll admit it. If I didn't, I absolutely won't. This incident was something I intentionally arranged. After all, there are some people with ulterior motives just waiting for me, watching me reach this point. To prevent that from happening, I had to do this."
The crowd gradually quieted down, listening silently to his explanation.
"At the same time I shipped this batch of goods, I sent an email to all the buyers, stating that this batch was of inferior quality. I believe that those who come to buy from me are people who trust me, Robinson. Besides, some of you were introduced by my older brother, Moriarty. I couldn't possibly lose face for him."
Upon hearing Zhang Shan say he had sent them an email, everyone was stunned for a moment. After all, no one really pays attention to a simple email.
Everyone opened their inboxes to see if what he said was true.
When they saw the email he had sent in their inboxes, a wave of guilt washed over them.
Victor Anfei saw that everyone's enthusiasm had died down and felt displeased, so he signaled his people to continue inciting the crowd.
"Don't believe him, he's definitely just making excuses for himself."
As soon as these words were spoken, the crowd's emotions were stirred up again.
"Ahem," the authoritative leader from before spoke a fair word.
"Since this young man prepared things in advance, we shouldn't make things difficult for him anymore. After all, regarding this matter, he had already given us a heads-up; it was just us who didn't notice. Let's count this as our own oversight. However, this is a one-time thing. If it happens again, that would really be going too far."
"Everyone, just do me a favor today. Let's disperse."
Zhang Shan nodded at the man to express his gratitude.
"Everyone, rest assured! I, Robinson, am a businessman who keeps his word. This incident has also taught me a lesson. Next time, I will definitely serve you all better."
Hearing the respected leader speak, the crowd slowly dispersed.
Victor saw this scene and his face turned green with anger.
But since the result was already set, there was nothing he could do.
"Ring, ring."
Just at this moment, Victor Anfei's phone rang.
"What is it? Speak quickly. I'm furious right now, don't provoke me."
Victor could only vent his anger at the person on the other end of the phone.
"Boss, boss, it's bad! Xia Wei has brought people to our company!"
Victor Anfei was confused. He didn't know what Xia Wei was doing by taking people to his company right now.
"What's the situation? Speak clearly! Don't stutter. Quit dawdling and tell me what exactly she wants to do!"
Victor suddenly felt anxious. He had an ominous premonition that something big was about to happen.
"Oh, Boss, I can't explain it clearly in a moment. You need to come back quickly! If you don't come back, we won't have a company left!"
Upon hearing this, Victor Anfei immediately rushed to his company.
Xia Wei sat in Victor Anfei's office, waiting for his arrival.
Even so, she wasn't idle; her eyes scanned the surroundings.
She even called for their financial director and had them send her the quarterly reports.
"Bang!"
The office door was pushed open violently.
"Xia Wei, what do you think you're doing? This is my company, what are you doing sitting there?"
Victor Anfei looked at Xia Wei sitting in his usual spot, his eyes turning green with rage.
"Victor Anfei! I came here today to acquire your company," Xia Wei said earnestly.
"Want to acquire my company? You're dreaming." Victor Anfei's expression turned cold, his face ashen.
"Oh? Is that so? Am I dreaming? That might not necessarily be the case."
Xia Wei dropped her previous playful demeanor.
"Victor Anfei, as the executive president of the company, I am now notifying you in the name of the Victor Group board of directors: convene a board meeting immediately."
"On what grounds?" Victor Anfei instantly lost control.
"That's a good question. On what grounds? On the grounds that I am now the major shareholder of Victor Group."
Xia Wei waved her hand, signaling her secretary to hand over the documents.
"Victor Anfei, this is the equity document for Victor Group. Take a look and see if there are any issues. I currently hold 75% of Victor Group's shares and am the largest shareholder. Therefore, as the largest shareholder, I order you to immediately convene a board meeting to re-elect the president of Victor Group."
Hearing this, Victor lunged forward, wanting to tear that mouth of Xia Wei's apart.
"This is impossible, it's not real. How could this happen? How could this be?"
After glancing at the equity document, Victor Anfei stood there in a daze, his face full of disbelief. Victor Group was the lifeblood their family had built over generations. It was their everything.
But now, Xia Wei held 75% of Victor Group's equity, while he only had 10%. Originally, he held 60% of the equity, but to defeat Zhang Shan, he had given 50% to Xia Wei.
Regret welled up from the bottom of his heart.
"Mr. Victor, there is no such thing as impossible in this world." Xia Wei gave him a stunning smile.
But to Victor, it seemed like a sign of death.
"Impossible. It's impossible! How could you have so many shares? This is fake, it must be fake." Victor Anfei shook his head, looking completely incredulous.
