31: Chapter 31 The Turbulent Events of the Auction

After Zhang Shan left, Moriarty called Mona over.

"Mona, go check and see when the next auction at the Yunyao Auction House is being held."

"Got it, Boss. Are you planning to bid on something?"

"No, no, no. This time, we are participating in the auction as sellers. By the way, get an entry pass for Robinson. This is very important, so go prepare it quickly."

It must be said, Mona's efficiency was truly remarkable.

"Boss, I've found out. Yunyao Auction House is holding a large auction tomorrow. Mr. Robinson's admission card is also ready. You can go directly to the VIP seats at Yunyao tomorrow to watch the auction."

Moriarty nodded in approval.

The weather today was strange; it was clear and sunny just a moment ago, but now it was overcast, and it looked like a heavy downpour was coming any minute.

Tomorrow was destined to be anything but peaceful.

Zhang Shan stared at the sea as fine, dense raindrops fell onto the previously calm surface.

Li Chao rubbed her eyes and walked straight to Zhang Shan's room, knocking on the door.

"Hmm? What's wrong, Zhao Zhao? Can't sleep?"

"Brother, I'm a little scared."

"Scared of what?"

"I'm scared of the rain. It feels unreal. I'm afraid that when I wake up, I'll still be in that terrible place."

"So, Zhao Zhao came to confirm if Brother has abandoned you, right?"

Li Chao nodded.

"Don't worry, Brother will never leave you. How about Brother takes you out to play tomorrow?"

"Okay! Will Brother Zhang San and the others be going too?"

"Yes, they will be going. He will be joining us."

Time always flies, and it was the next afternoon.

Zhang Shan and his group were dressed neatly, primarily in black with white accents, exuding an undeniable, powerful aura. Coupled with an imposing car, every strand of their hair displayed arrogance and haughtiness.

The item that Zhang Shan was selling today was absolutely the grand finale!!

Half an hour later.

The largest arms auction house in Zhili Country, which was also located in the lawless zone of Zhili Country. It was a melting pot of people, where money and desire were etched into their very bones. Here, money was king.

Moriarty had been waiting at the entrance of Yunyao early on, waiting for Zhang Shan's arrival.

Zhang Shan held Li Chao, and Zhang San followed behind him. After seeing Moriarty, he strode toward him.

People in suits and formal attire passed by them one after another. Anyone who didn't know better would have thought they were attending some high-end celebrity banquet.

"Brother Robinson, why are you here so late? The auction is already halfway over. Any later, and it would be ending."

"Aren't you just arriving now, too, Brother? Why are you blaming me?"

Moriarty, having been called out, felt no shame.

"The first half of the auction is just too boring; the highlights only come later. Haha, let's not stand outside. Let's go in."

Mona, standing to the side, watched her boss's guilty expression and felt speechless. She really didn't want to know him.

"Please show your number plate," a woman in a black dress said emotionlessly.

Seeing the number plate they presented, the woman in the black dress rarely looked up to size up Zhang Shan's group, trying to recall when such a character had arrived in Zhili Country.

"Please, this way." The woman in the black dress led them toward the seat with the best view on the top floor.

Just as they sat down.

Victor brought his men and marched in aggressively, arriving at the top floor with his head held high. When his eyes met Zhang Shan's, hatred erupted.

Enemies meeting face-to-face, eyes blazing with hatred!!

"Heh, can any stray cat or dog get into the Yunyao Auction House now?"

Victor's loud voice immediately drew everyone's attention, their gazes fixed directly on Zhang Shan and his group.

"Excuse me, Mr. Victor, I am not some stray cat or dog. Furthermore, I am here as a seller today. If you have any questions, wait until you see the item. Shouting like this here is unbecoming of a gentleman."

Unlike Victor, Zhang Shan stated the facts coldly, creating a sharp contrast between the two.

Exhibits were displayed one after another, but Zhang Shan had no interest in any of them. In his eyes, the items on the display stand were just a pile of scrap metal, not worth his attention.

"Next, I will present a boutique item—something that money might not even be able to buy. It is the—SS-N-19 heavy anti-ship missile."

"This weapon is equipped in the government military with only 3 units. It is our honor to see it here today. Everyone, cheer!!"

Deafening cheers erupted in the venue, enough to show how shocking this weapon was to them.

Victor, sitting in another private room, stood up excitedly upon seeing the anti-ship missile.

It was so shocking, so exciting. Heaven knows how much he wanted to own such a badass missile. Who was so capable that they could bring this out for auction?

Unlike Victor's side, Zhang Shan's side had no reaction to seeing this, as if they were looking at something ordinary. Although Moriarty tried his best to remain indifferent, his slightly trembling fingers betrayed his current mood.

"Brother Robinson, this wouldn't be the item you brought to sell, would it?"

"It is," he replied, simple and blunt.

"Awesome," Moriarty realized he didn't know what words to use to praise this seemingly ordinary young man.

"Okay, alright. Now we begin the auction. The old rules: the highest bidder wins. Starting bid: 1,000 Mi-coins."

"20 million Mi-coins!" "30 million Mi-coins!" The shouts were endless; everyone wanted to obtain this weapon.

"80 million Mi-coins!" In an instant, the entire venue went quiet. Victor held up his number plate, feeling somewhat smug. He didn't believe anyone would bid higher than him.

Moriarty had wanted to bid, but was stopped by Zhang Shan, who said, "Don't buy it here, it's a rip-off. If you want it, I'll sell it to you at cost. It doesn't cost that much. Let's just watch the show."

Hearing these words, Moriarty really wanted to hug Zhang Shan's thigh, hug it tightly, and never let go.

"80 million once, 80 million twice, 80 million three times! Congratulations, number 38, for winning this weapon."

Victor waved to the stage proudly. With a glance from the corner of his eye, he saw Zhang Shan smiling with a mocking expression, and anger rushed to his head.

"What? Are you so envious that I bought this weapon that you're looking at me with that gaze?"

Moriarty looked at the idiotic Victor and really wanted to tell him that the seller was right here.

This wish was fulfilled by Zhang Shan.

"Excuse me, this item is mine. Please transfer the payment to my card on time. Thank you."

Victor's face changed several colors in a short amount of time.

Moriarty, on the side, finally couldn't hold it in and burst out laughing.

Poor Victor~
