53: Chapter 53 Someone Ran Away

A rapid phone ring sounded.

"Big Brother, Big Brother, something happened! Something happened!" Zhang San's voice came through the receiver.

"What is it? What happened?" Zhang Shan was a bit puzzled; what could possibly have happened?

"Boss, hurry over here. This isn't something I can explain in a moment. You need to come quickly," Zhang San said even more urgently.

Zhang Shan patted Gu Nan.

"Nan Zi, trouble has arrived. Let's go. Our peaceful life is over!"

Zhang Shan and the others drove quickly to the company entrance.

Seeing the anxious Zhang San, Zhang Shan took a deep breath and said calmly,

"What exactly happened? Tell me quickly."

"Lin Sheng ran away with our company's confidential manufacturing documents."

To avoid raising suspicion, Zhang Shan stopped having the system produce the goods directly and instead found contractors to handle the production. They would manufacture the items, and then they would sell them.

Of course, the price was definitely a bit cheaper than the system's. After all, Zhang Shan was a miser.

Zhang San lowered his head, his tone filled with helplessness and exhaustion. He had recruited Lin Sheng into the company directly. Now that he was missing, it meant he hadn't done the job the boss had entrusted to him well, so he felt very guilty.

"Lin Sheng, who is Lin Sheng?"

Zhang Shan had a big head full of tiny confusion.

"Boss, didn't you ask me to find a few people capable of technical research and development? So I recruited him. But I didn't expect him to betray us and run away."

"If he ran away, then he ran away. It's fine," Zhang Shan said with a calm face.

Zhang San looked at his indifferent demeanor with a bit of urgency.

"Boss, can you please not be so indifferent about this? Lin Sheng mastered the core manufacturing process; this is crucial to the company."

Actually, in Zhang Shan's heart, that weapon was equivalent to a toy, so he felt it didn't matter. However, when he heard Zhang San say that, he got a little angry. Because this person had violated his taboo; a traitor was something he could never tolerate.

"Lin Sheng has been out of contact since yesterday and is now missing. What should we do? Should we capture his family to ask them? Use his family to threaten him?" Zhang San used his intelligent brain to offer suggestions to his boss.

"No, we cannot touch his family. Misfortune should not befall a wife and children; this is my bottom line. There are so many people in the company now. If we do this, it might cause panic. After all, everyone is working for me."

"This way, regardless of whether Lin Sheng betrayed the company, we should not touch his family, but we can go and gather some information. Just be sure not to harm his family."

Zhang San nodded upon hearing this. "I will go arrange it right away; don't worry."

Moriarty rushed over at this time. Hearing others recount what happened today, he was also a bit anxious. Seeing Zhang Shan's calm expression, he felt so helpless!

"Brother Robinson, you have to know, Lin Sheng masters the core technology. If he teaches this technology to others, then we will lose our advantage," Moriarty said worriedly.

"Oh, Brother Moriarty, what are you worrying about? It's just a toy made on a whim. It doesn't matter! But, Lin Sheng betraying me is something that cannot be let go easily," Zhang Shan said nonchalantly. It was as if a rich person went shopping one day, had their phone stolen, and didn't feel like it was any loss.

This made Moriarty very anxious.

"Brother! How is this a toy? Don't you know how much money these things can earn?" Moriarty almost roared; he didn't understand why Zhang Shan was still so calm when encountering such a situation.

He wouldn't have thought that for Zhang Shan, these were really child's play. Even if the core technology was taken away by him, he could manufacture a weapon even more awesome than this in minutes.

"Don't be anxious. Although he has mastered the technology, he cannot produce it. This is useless for him."

"Why?" Moriarty looked puzzled. If these words hadn't come from Zhang Shan, he would have thought it was a joke.

"The few manufacturers we cooperate with only have a portion of the blueprints. If you want them to display their original power, someone must know how they are assembled together. But I only told Zhang San and Zhang Er about this. Only they know how to assemble these things. So, even if he gets the core technology, he can't produce it."

Zhang Shan smiled and said. He didn't intentionally not tell them; it's just that now that this happened, if he didn't explain it clearly, they might be worried to death.

"Really? Robinson, you are truly too smart. How did I not think of that?"

Moriarty turned on his fanboy mode again.

Zhang Shan fell into deep thought. This incident with Lin Sheng made him realize that he couldn't rely on recruited people to master core technology, otherwise, this kind of problem would happen again in the future. He should just find a few people who understand IT from the system. Let them master this kind of core technology; after all, they would never betray him.

From the beginning, Gu Nan had not said anything.

"Boss, what I'm a bit worried about is, what if Lin Sheng didn't betray the company? If he didn't betray the company, then someone kidnapped him. And this time, his disappearance might mean the other party's target is us."

Zhang Shan shook his head firmly.

"No, you don't need to worry about that. He betrayed us. You might not know, but Lin Sheng is Victoria's adopted son. So he has a reason to betray us."

"What? He actually has a connection to Victoria? Didn't you check his background when he joined the company?"

Moriarty said in surprise.

"I did check. But this layer of his relationship was hidden quite deeply. I didn't find it; I only found that he was a top-tier university student who came from an orphanage."

Zhang San said with his head lowered.

Looking at the guilty-looking Zhang San, Zhang Shan sighed.

"Zhang San, you don't need to feel too guilty. This kind of thing is something an average person wouldn't be able to find. So this is not your fault; you don't need to blame yourself too much."

Although he comforted Zhang San like this, Zhang San still felt he had done something wrong and brought trouble to his boss.

"Then what should we do now?" Moriarty asked anxiously.

"Oh! Brother Moriarty, I already told you not to be anxious. What we need to do now is to wait and see. Just wait. If the other party's target is us, then there will be news immediately."

Zhang Shan's face was calm. His calmness formed a sharp contrast with Moriarty's anxiety.
