93: Chapter 93 The Demise of the Dragon Tiger Gang

Zhang Shan's hidden weapon flew out from his sleeve, hurtling toward the old man's throat and piercing through the air to strike home. The old man's eyes went dull as he stared intently at Sun Yan; he wanted Sun Yan to save him, but he had no way to speak.

The sudden hidden weapon was so fast that he couldn't react before it slit his throat. His body fell from the heights and slammed heavily onto the ground, blood pooling around him.

Zhang Shan sneered. When it came to assassination, he had never lost to anyone.

"How... how is this possible?"

Everyone in the hall looked at Zhang Shan in disbelief. This old man was the strongest among them, yet now he was dead. Just moments ago, he had been poised to kill Zhang Shan with overwhelming momentum, but in the blink of an eye, he was gone. The gap was so vast that they couldn't quite process it.

"You... you actually killed him? How could you kill him? This is impossible... impossible."

Sun Yan's expression changed drastically as he looked at the lifeless old man on the ground. He knew how powerful this elder was; he was his final trump card. But now, he had been killed by Zhang Shan just like that.

How was this possible? No matter how formidable Zhang Shan was, he shouldn't have been able to kill someone of such immense strength.

"I'll kill you! I'll have my revenge!" Sun Yan's eyes turned bloodshot as he let out a sudden roar, drawing a blade and charging forward.

"You really never learn. Since that's the case, I won't waste any more words on you." Zhang Shan laughed heartily and stepped forward to meet the attack.

"Die!"

Sun Yan swung the blade in his hand, hurtling toward Zhang Shan with fierce momentum.

Zhang Shan flicked his sleeves, and two daggers appeared in his hands.

Their blades collided, sending off blinding sparks. On the surface, they seemed evenly matched, but in reality, Sun Yan was being forced back step by step by Zhang Shan's strikes.

Before they had even exchanged many moves, Zhang Shan flicked Sun Yan's blade away. Seizing the opportunity, Zhang Shan followed up with a Spiral Kick that sent Sun Yan crashing to the floor.

Sun Yan clutched his chest, and a moment later, he spat out a mouthful of blood, looking at Zhang Shan with a trace of fear.

Zhang Shan walked toward Sun Yan step by step with a smile on his face. To Sun Yan, it felt as if a Rakshasa was approaching.

"Hahaha, young man, I truly never expected that one day I, Sun Yan, would fall to such a state."

Watching Zhang Shan approach, Sun Yan suddenly burst into laughter. He knew he no longer had any chance to turn the tables; he had lost completely this time.

"Actually, we could have lived in peace. If you had been willing to let go of the obsession in your heart, we would never have reached this point. But from the day you started moving against me, this ending was already set in stone," Zhang Shan said nonchalantly.

"Yes, if my ambition hadn't been so great, I wouldn't have ended up like this. But I truly didn't expect your strength to be so formidable, so my defeat isn't undeserved."

Due to the blood loss, Sun Yan's face grew increasingly pale.

"Master Sun, I'll still address you as Master Sun out of respect, but there's one question I've never understood. We had no grievances, so why did you want to target me? It certainly couldn't have been just because I acquired the Sun Group."

Zhang Shan asked in a low voice.

"Robinson, you are indeed clever. This Sun Group is just a trifle in my eyes. However, there are some reasons you're better off not knowing; just consider it that I couldn't stand someone else standing above me."

"My family is innocent; please spare them. As for that Wang Lei, I was the one who used him. If you can find it in you to spare his life, then let him go."

Even at this stage, Sun Yan was still thinking of pleading for others.

"Of those two requests, I can only grant one. I can spare your family, but Wang Lei must die."

"Hehe, I thought as much. After all, Wang Lei isn't a good person either. My greatest regret is not taking you seriously enough. If I had treated you as an equal opponent from the beginning, the outcome today might have been different."

"Cough, cough."

Sun Yan coughed twice, spitting up more blood, and spoke with difficulty.

"Master Sun, you're a smart man, so stop stalling. You still haven't answered my question. Why target me? I refuse to believe it was just for money."

Zhang Shan no longer had the patience to keep wasting time with him.

"Hahaha. Robinson, did you go to all this trouble just to learn something from me? I'm afraid you're going to be disappointed. I did it simply to deal with you. There was no other purpose."

"Then tell me, who was that mysterious helper who suddenly appeared today?"

Zhang Shan pressed him further.

"I don't know where they came from. I only know they are far stronger than us, and furthermore, they have always wanted you dead. I believe they will be your most formidable opponents in the future. Oh, perhaps not even opponents. Maybe one day, my current fate will be yours."

Zhang Shan looked at the stubborn Sun Yan and truly had no way to make him talk. Although he had the system, it couldn't read thoughts through someone's brain.

"It seems you've decided not to say anything?"

"I advise you, Robinson, not to overthink things." Sun Yan's eyes flickered. Although he was doomed, he didn't want to reveal too much about his master's identity. His master was his only hope for revenge; he didn't want Zhang Shan to know or be prepared.

If he could live until the day he saw Zhang Shan's end, he would definitely step up to deliver the final blow.

Gu Nan leaned in and whispered something into Zhang Shan's ear. Zhang Shan nodded after hearing it.

He walked unsteadily to the sofa and sat down.

"I heard Master Sun still has a son?" He had intended to bluff Sun Yan.

"What do you want to do?" The previously weak and powerless Sun Yan suddenly exerted strength, trying to stand up.

"Do you really need to ask me such a simple question?" Zhang Shan countered.

"Robinson, I know I'm a dead man today, but I beg you to spare my son. None of this has anything to do with him; he's still just a child!"

At this moment, it was as if Sun Yan's weakness had been seized, and he pleaded bitterly.

"Master Sun, you've been in the underworld for so long, haven't you heard the saying? When cutting grass, you must remove the roots."

Hearing this, Sun Yan panicked instantly.

"Robinson, I... I'm willing to trade a secret for my son's life."

Zhang Shan made a gesture, signaling him to continue.

"I only know that the person behind me is someone you know. And your relationship is quite deep, but I have never seen his true face. This is all I can offer."

After saying this, Sun Yan seemed to have all his strength drained from him.
