94: Chapter 94 The Mastermind Emerges

Sun Yan crawled with difficulty to Zhang Shan's feet and tightly gripped his pant leg.

"I beg you, I beg you to spare my son."

After hearing this news, Zhang Shan and Gu Nan fell silent for a while. Who could it be that they knew? And it seemed this person knew them very well. This feeling was truly awful—knowing nothing about the person acting against them.

Zhang Shan said nothing. He pulled his pant leg back from Sun Yan's hand. Just as Sun Yan thought Sun Jia's lineage was about to end, Zhang Shan spoke coldly.

"Master Sun, take your son and leave."

"What? You're actually not going to kill me?" Sun Yan was somewhat incredulous. After all, if an enemy wasn't silenced, they could become a major hidden threat later on.

Zhang Shan said indifferently,

"Kill you? At this point, there's no difference between killing you or not. Although the information you provided isn't very useful, I now know that someone else wants to kill me. For the sake of this information, I'll spare your life. Take your son and go. If you're a smart man, you probably won't think about revenge. If you do, that's fine too, but next time..."

Sun Yan was in disbelief. He had expected to die here today and never imagined Zhang Shan would actually let him go.

"Mr. Robinson, please rest assured that from now on, the name Sun Yan will no longer exist in the underworld. However, I still hope you'll be on your guard against my master in the future. He is definitely not easy to deal with."

Zhang Shan was somewhat helpless; despite talking for so long, Sun Yan hadn't said anything concrete about his master.

"So, after all that talk, even if you don't know much, you must at least know his surname. You wouldn't just call him 'Master' when you see him, would you? You're not animals."

Gu Nan suddenly chimed in with a complaint.

"I know his surname. It's Bai. That's all I know."

Zhang Shan and Gu Nan went through everyone they knew in their minds over and over again, but no one with the surname Bai came to mind.

"Mr. Robinson, I hope we never meet again."

Having said that, he left without looking back.

Now that Sun Yan was gone, the entire Dragon Lake Gang had vanished from the underworld. Next was clearing out the remnants of the Dragon Tiger Gang. Zhang Shan wasn't worried about this part, though. He made a call to Moriarty, handed everything over to him, and then prepared to return to the aircraft carrier.

After returning to the aircraft carrier, Zhang Shan locked himself in his room.

He had the strongman search over and over for someone with the surname Bai who held a grudge against him, but no such person appeared in the search results.

*Bang, bang, bang!*

"Shan Zi, you've been in there for a day and a night. What's wrong with you?"

Gu Nan's roar sounded from outside the door.

"What? It's been a day and a night?" Zhang Shan was stunned. He hadn't expected to spend a whole day and night pondering this question.

He opened the door and saw Gu Nan sprawled against the wall like a starfish.

"How's the situation now?"

"It's a total mess. You have no idea—as soon as the Dragon Tiger Gang was wiped out, the underworld of Zhili Country fell into chaos. They'd been suppressed by the Dragon Lake Gang for so long that now many underground forces are taking the opportunity to expand their territories."

Gu Nan draped his arm over Zhang Shan's shoulder.

"I'm saying, we worked hard to take down that Dragon Lake Gang. Why should we let them reap the benefits? We should also go and seize some territory to expand our own influence."

Zhang Shan looked at the unambitious Gu Nan.

"Nan Zi, can't you have a bit more ambition? Besides, I don't have much interest in the underworld of this country. But Moriarty should be quite interested."

"Then you're just letting Moriarty reap the benefits for free. That's such a loss."

"Sigh, Nan Zi, regardless, when Zhang Shan was attacked, they did help out. We have to give them some benefits."

"Why aren't you interested?" Gu Nan still didn't understand.

"It's just the underworld. You know yourself how messy those mobsters are. Besides, I have no desire to manage such chaotic affairs. And most importantly, no matter how powerful they become, could they ever be a match for us? If they provoke us, we'll just wipe them out. Why go through the extra trouble?"

This wasn't Zhang Shan boasting. He truly had never considered ruling the underworld for his own use. The only reason he dealt with the Dragon Tiger Gang was because they had provoked him. Furthermore, his ambitions were definitely not something those low-level underground forces could satisfy.

"Alright then, we'll do as you say. I have no more objections." Gu Nan shrugged.

"Come on, let's go find Moriarty and see how his takeover is going. We should still make an appearance at a time like this, so he remembers the favor we've done him."

Gu Nan gave a thumbs up in admiration.

...

Inside a luxurious villa on the other side of the ocean.

Bai Muci sat in a large office chair with a gloomy expression. Before him lay a file—the information on Zhang Shan's destruction of the Dragon Tiger Gang.

He had read this file many times. He was somewhat angry the first time he read it, but after several readings, he made a new discovery.

"Ye Fei, have you noticed? This Robinson's style of doing things is slightly similar to the Zhang Shan we know."

Hearing this, Ye Fei took the file from Bai Muci and read it carefully once more.

"It does seem a bit similar. Although Zhang Shan is extremely powerful, he still maintains a basic sense of humanity and is relatively merciful toward others. In terms of letting Sun Yan go, the two of them are very much alike."

Bai Muci nodded.

He had received the news the moment Zhang Shan wiped out the Dragon Tiger Gang. He had always believed that dealing with a mere Robinson would be no problem. No matter how powerful or resourceful Robinson was, he wouldn't be able to withstand Muci's meticulous planning.

In fact, Bai Muci had thought of many ways over the past few days, but he couldn't figure out how to deal with Robinson. After all, the man's background was too vague. Moreover, he now had several trustworthy people by his side.

Dealing with someone so powerful and intelligent was certainly not easy. He had controlled the Liqi Pavilion for many years and had dealt with numerous people, but few were like Robinson.

"It seems we must find another way. Given his intelligence, who knows when he might trace things back to us."

Bai Muci frowned as he spoke to Ye Fei.

"We need to plan this matter carefully."

Bai Muci closed his eyes and tapped lightly on the desk. One strategy after another surfaced in his mind, only to be discarded, because Zhang Shan was, after all, no ordinary person.

Thoughts cycled through his mind over and over again.
