112: Chapter 112 Arriving Late
"Since that's the case, then go to hell," Zhang Shan said coldly.
His figure flashed, and in an instant, he appeared in front of the masked man.
He struck down hard at the masked man's head; the masked man's legs instantly gave way, and he collapsed to the ground.
Bang.
A bullet struck exactly where he had just been standing. The timing was impeccable, less than a second apart.
The man in black never expected to receive such a blow; although the move seemed harmless, he felt as if his bones had been shattered. He realized he might not survive. Since that was the case, he would give it one last shot.
Just as the man in black prepared to get up, a throwing knife plunged into his chest.
"How is this possible?"
The masked man knew he had weapons, but he didn't know how he could have so many throwing knives. Wasn't it heavy to carry? But no one gave him the chance to ponder this question again.
"Hmph, you underestimate me without even knowing your own limits."
Zhang Shan gave a cold laugh. He rolled a few times on the ground, dodging the incoming bullets.
Snipers, are you? Since you dare to be so arrogant, you must bear my wrath.
Zhang Shan quickly pinpointed their locations.
Whoosh, whoosh, whoosh.
He swiftly took out two snipers. The remaining sniper saw this scene, fear appearing in his eyes, and without a second thought, he turned around, grabbed his weapon, and fled.
"Do you think it's that easy to run?"
Zhang Shan sneered and raised his hand to throw a knife.
The target was struck.
Zhang Shan surveyed the scene and quickly left. He knew the police would be here soon.
The smell of blood permeated the air of the street. The pungent odor was nauseating. Amidst the scent of blood, the smell of gunpowder had not yet dissipated, indicating that a fierce battle had just taken place here.
The police comrades always liked to do the cleanup work. They were nowhere to be seen during the fighting. It was only after everything was over that they arrived late. Seeing the corpses all over the ground, many of the police officers changed color. Some even started vomiting on the side of the road.
It seems the physical fitness of these police officers is not up to par.
Yang Hong looked at the corpses one by one with a livid expression. He felt this was a provocation against him. He hadn't expected such a major homicide to occur during his tenure; this was simply a disgrace to him.
"How many people are dead?" Yang Hong asked his subordinate with a livid face.
"Captain, we counted, and at least a dozen people are dead." The young police officer said in a low voice, her face pale as she looked at the corpses. She was truly terrified.
"Do you know who these people are?"
"We are still investigating that. However, they died very strangely; they weren't shot, but killed by someone using knives."
"What? With knives? You mean to say these people were all killed by someone with knives? How is that possible?"
"Yes, Captain. According to the incident report so far, these people were indeed killed by knives."
Suddenly, it seemed Yang Hong stepped on something. He moved his foot away.
He looked at the bullet casing on the ground and picked it up. He walked over to another police officer.
"Old Wu, what do you make of these bullets?"
"Captain, judging from these bullet casings, there must have been a gunfight here, and besides that, there were sniper rifles involved."
Old Wu replied.
"What, there were even sniper rifles?" Yang Hong's expression became grave; he never imagined there would be sniper rifles.
"Yes, sniper rifles. Looking at the angle of the bullets, there were at least four or five snipers here. And judging from the scene, they blocked the intersection from two directions. I don't know who they were trying to kill to have planned it so meticulously."
"Then do you think the person being targeted could have survived?"
"That's highly unlikely. No one can escape from prepared snipers."
Old Wu replied.
Yang Hong was greatly alarmed. He absolutely could not allow this to happen.
"Xiao Chen, come over here and pull up the surveillance footage for me."
"Yes, Captain."
Just as Yang Hong was methodically arranging for his subordinates to carry out tasks, a voice suddenly appeared.
"I have to say, the efficiency of you police officers is simply too slow."
Zhang Shan walked out from the side. It wasn't that Zhang Shan didn't want to leave earlier, but this attack had something to do with him. Moreover, the intersection surveillance footage had captured his figure, and if he left, it would look like he was trying to cover up his tracks. It was better to just stay and wait for them to investigate.
"Who are you? How are you here? It's dangerous here, leave quickly."
Yang Hong maintained his police righteousness.
"Officer, who else could be here besides the people who were killed? Besides, I'm injured, and I need you to take me to the hospital."
Zhang Shan said helplessly.
"What? You are the target of this shooting? How could you possibly have survived?"
"What, does this officer not want me to survive?"
"No, no, I'm just curious, given that so many people were trying to kill you, how did you survive?"
"Officer, investigating the truth is your job, but could you please not have curiosity where it doesn't belong? Besides, I am the victim and will accept your investigation, but I'm injured now, and you should take me to the hospital. If you wait any longer, I might die."
He really didn't want to drag things out with this police officer anymore.
Although the police in Zhili Country were generally useless, his status was special now, and he didn't believe these police officers would just brush things off.
"Who are you, and why were you attacked here?" Yang Hong asked.
"My name is Robinson, and I am the president of the Aolu Group," Zhang Shan said.
"What? The president of the Aolu Group? Isn't the president of the Aolu Group a woman?"
Yang Hong was somewhat confused.
"Your information is too outdated; if you have time, could you please do some proper research?"
Hearing Zhang Shan's words, Yang Hong was speechless. He hadn't expected this person to be the president of the Aolu Group. Now, because of the matter with Customs, the Aolu Group was a household name in Zhili Country. It seemed this matter could not be taken lightly.
"Hey? Have you figured it out yet? If you really don't believe me, why don't you just check? If you keep delaying, I might die."
Zhang Shan said helplessly. He was still injured and didn't want to keep bleeding here.
"Someone, take him to the hospital immediately."
Although he didn't understand the background of the Aolu Group, he upheld the principle of putting people first and dared not treat him with neglect; after all, he was already injured. If he died, he couldn't bear the responsibility. Moreover, this person was the victim, so he definitely couldn't let him die.
