75: Chapter 75 Purpose

After hanging up the phone, Moriarty told his underling to call Butler Wang in.

"I've thought about it carefully. Since you want to stay by my side so much, you can be an underling who does odd jobs."

Moriarty looked at him while swirling his glass of red wine.

"By the way, I only know you're Victoria's butler; I don't even know your name yet."

"Boss, my name is Wang Lei."

"Alright, Wang Lei. Someone will come to pick you up in a while, just follow him."

Shortly after, someone took Wang Lei to his current position.

"Brother Robinson, come to my house. Let's discuss some things."

Moriarty composed a text message and sent it to Zhang Shan.

Zhang Shan was actually a bit confused after receiving the text. After all, they had just spoken on the phone; why did he need to go to his house now?

Gu Nan leaned in to take a look at the text message.

"What's going on? This makes it look like you two have a thing going on."

"Gu Nan, believe it or not, if you keep talking nonsense, I'll smash your mouth crooked."

Zhang Shan didn't understand. How did the once stern and serious Gu Nan turn into this? Now, looking at him, he was like a little hoodlum. Curious about everything, wanting to know everything. It was truly strange!

Threatened by Zhang Shan, Gu Nan could only honestly drive him to Moriarty's mansion.

Seeing Zhang Shan walk through the door, Moriarty hurried over to greet him.

"What's up, Brother Moriarty? So excited to see us arrive?"

Looking at Moriarty hurrying toward them, Gu Nan casually teased him.

"Oh, Brother Otter, don't tease me. I'm only doing this because I've run into a problem, right? If not, would I be in such a rush to have you come over?"

Moriarty really had no way to fend off Gu Nan's teasing.

Moriarty had the butler serve them some tea, looking very much like they were prepared for a long, late-night talk.

Seeing this setup, Gu Nan thought, "It's over, another day of being bored to sleep."

Zhang Shan held his teacup, looking very much like a young nobleman from a wealthy family.

Gu Nan looked at Zhang Shan, then at himself. It really was quite the polished look. But he himself didn't seem too bad either, hehe.

He really didn't know what kind of mentality this was; why did he have to compare everything?

"Brother Robinson, Wang Lei told me something just now."

"What? Wang Lei? Who is Wang Lei? I don't think I've met this person."

Hearing this new name, Zhang Shan was a bit confused, as he seemed to have never heard of this person before.

Moriarty patted his own head.

"It's, well, it's that butler who was by Victoria's side, his name is Wang Lei. Didn't I tell you today that he came to me looking for a job?"

"Oh, oh, why didn't you just say so earlier? You brought it up so suddenly, how was I supposed to guess who it was?" Zhang Shan complained to Moriarty.

"Alright, alright, let's stop talking about useless things. Let's talk about the important stuff now. He told me that when he was by Victoria's side, he had contacts with some big shots."

"Is this what he's offering as a sign of his allegiance?"

"As expected, Brother, you are indeed smart. This is indeed the sincerity he's offering us. But I acted like I wasn't very interested."

Moriarty was like a child in need of praise, waiting expectantly for Zhang Shan's commendation.

"Brother, you did the right thing in this matter. If you had shown that you were very interested in that, we would be in a passive position. It would be easy for him to take control of us."

Zhang Shan sneered inwardly. This Wang Lei really took them for fools. He didn't even stop to think about what they actually did; as arms dealers, if they didn't understand the situation, how could they establish themselves in this country? This Wang Lei really underestimated them too much.

Seeing Zhang Shan remaining silent, Moriarty felt a bit uneasy.

"Brother, given this situation, how should we dismantle it?"

Zhang Shan thought for a moment and said,

"How about this, Brother: find a reason to call Wang Lei over. We can talk to him and, while we're at it, probe to see what kind of conspiracy he's really plotting."

"That works. Let's go to The Emperors Place Bar; since he's there right now, it'll be convenient to find him."

After speaking, they set off to go to The Emperors Place Bar.

Inside a private room at The Emperors Place Bar.

Zhang Shan, Moriarty, and Gu Nan sat on the sofa.

Moriarty instructed his underling to call Wang Lei over.

Knock, knock, knock.

"Come in."

Moriarty knew it must be Wang Lei.

Wang Lei, who walked in from outside, seemed a little different compared to earlier this morning.

Now, Wang Lei's face was covered in injuries, and his clothes were tattered. It seemed that everyone didn't have much affection for this traitor, which was why they "treated" him like this.

"Oh my, Butler Wang, what happened to you? Why is your face covered in injuries? Surely our people didn't bully you, did they?" Moriarty asked, feigning ignorance.

"No, no. Boss, you're overthinking it. I fell down myself; I was just too careless and accidentally hit the door frame."

Wang Lei was spouting nonsense with his eyes wide open. In reality, he was furious. Although he had expected to be ostracized and bullied when coming here, when these things actually happened, he still found it a little hard to accept.

"Oh, oh, that's good, that's good. Do you know this person?"

Moriarty pointed at Zhang Shan and said.

"I know, I know, it's Mr. Robinson. We have met before."

Wang Lei said tremblingly.

"Oh? Is that so? But I'm sorry, I don't remember who you are."

Zhang Shan mercilessly cut off Wang Lei's attempt to get chummy.

Hearing this, Wang Lei looked embarrassed; he hadn't expected Zhang Shan to be so blunt about not knowing him.

Just as everyone was silent, Wang Lei suddenly said,

"Mr. Robinson, actually, there is one thing I want to tell you. I know an American arms dealer who wants to meet you."

Wang Lei said suddenly and mysteriously.

"Meet me? Why? And why didn't you tell Moriarty about this?" Zhang Shan asked.

"I didn't intentionally not tell Mr. Moriarty; I was just so excited when I heard Mr. Moriarty say he would keep me. Then I was so focused on staying that I actually forgot about such a big matter. Damn it!"

Wang Lei was playing dumb. In reality, he had intentionally not told Moriarty because he guessed that Moriarty would definitely call Zhang Shan over to ask him things together. So, he intended to use this person as a bargaining chip to negotiate terms with Zhang Shan.
