79: Chapter 79 Oh ho, someone's asking for a beating.
Clang, clang, clang.
Wang Lei opened the door. Seeing Li Quan, he felt somewhat displeased.
"Li Quan, why are you here?" Wang Lei hadn't expected him to find this place.
"Why can't I be here? There isn't a place in this entire Zhili Country that I can't go to. What? Is this the White House? Do I need to report in before coming to see you?"
Li Quan wore an arrogant expression.
Wang Lei clenched his fists, telling himself to hold back. He forced a smile and said,
"Boss Li, why is your tone so aggressive today? I don't recall offending you." Wang Lei glanced at Li Quan and asked with some confusion. After all, in his memory, Li Quan was a calm and collected person. How could he have such a temper today? It was as if he had eaten gunpowder.
"Hmph. Who else could it be besides Xia Wei?" Li Quan sneered.
"Xia Wei? What does she have to do with this? And what does that have to do with me? What's the point of coming to me? I haven't been involved in these matters for a long time." Wang Lei was truly baffled. The Victor Family had already fallen; there was nothing he could do for him now.
"Hmph, although I agreed to let Xia Wei manage the group, that doesn't mean she can lord it over me. I still hold shares in the Victor Group," Li Quan said angrily.
"So what does that have to do with me?" Wang Lei said, leaning against the doorframe.
"How could it have nothing to do with you? Have you forgotten who destroyed your Victor Group? Don't you hold any hatred in your heart?" Li Quan said.
"So why does that concern you?" Wang Lei really didn't want to say anything more to him.
"Do you have absolutely no attachment to the Victor Family?" Seeing Wang Lei's nonchalant attitude, Li Quan's anger reached its peak.
"I spent so many years in the Victor Family, so naturally, I have feelings for it. But I don't quite understand what that has to do with you."
"You..."
"If there's nothing else, please leave. I am no longer the housekeeper for the Victor Family; I don't have the authority to speak for you anymore. So don't come looking for me for anything; I'm a useless person now, of no use to anyone." Wang Lei said everything he wanted to say in one breath.
Why should he have to swallow his pride when dealing with Moriarty, only to come here and endure others' accusations? This was his own territory, dammit.
"Wang Lei, are you looking for death? How dare you speak to me like that?" Li Quan glared coldly at Wang Lei.
In the past, Wang Lei was Victoria's right-hand man, and Li Quan had to ask him for favors. But now that he was a useless person, what reason did he have to speak to him so arrogantly?
He completely failed to realize that it was his own sudden intrusion that had disrupted someone else's life.
"So, are you planning to kill me?" Wang Lei hit the nail on the head.
"I want to kill you, but I'm afraid of dirtying my own hands." Li Quan had come today looking for a vent for his anger; he didn't dare lose his temper with his wife at home, so he could only pick on a soft target.
"In that case, please leave my place. A waste like me isn't worth you saying so much here." After saying that, Wang Lei slammed the door shut, leaving Li Quan trembling with rage.
Not only had he been mistreated by Xia Wei, but he had also been lectured by this waste. The more he thought about it, the angrier he became.
"Hey, Old Tian, notify the brothers. We're going to trash the place."
"Yes."
The nighttime atmosphere at The Emperors Place Bar was lively. In the center of the hall, on the massive dance floor, a large crowd of young men and women were dancing wildly, enjoying the pleasures brought by the night.
Li Quan brought his brothers into the bar. He kicked over two waiters, clearly looking for trouble.
"Who's there?" The bodyguards of The Emperors Place Bar rushed in immediately.
With their shout, the men and women dancing on the floor were startled. Sensing that something was wrong, they scattered and fled.
"As expected of the bodyguards at The Emperors Place Bar, your reaction speed is fast." Li Quan had his brothers clear a space, and he sat down.
Just then, a voice came from the elevator entrance. Li Quan looked up and saw Moriarty walking out with Mona.
"Mr. Moriarty, are you surprised by my arrival?" Li Quan's gaze fell on Moriarty, and he suddenly laughed.
"Surprised? Why should I be surprised? Besides, who are you? I don't even know you, okay?"
Seeing that Moriarty had only brought one person, Li Quan's confidence soared.
In truth, what Li Quan didn't know was that to Moriarty, he didn't even rank on the list. Even if he was here to cause trouble, their bodyguards weren't pushovers.
"Moriarty, for you to not know me, you must be blind to greatness. I, Li Quan, am someone of standing in all of Zhili Country, okay? Aren't you afraid of getting your own place trashed by acting like this?"
Li Quan wore a look of utter condescension.
"Little brother, why should I know you? I've never had any desire to get to know you. You brought this upon yourselves; I never sought you out."
Moriarty was left dumbfounded by this idiot.
Li Quan was rendered speechless. He had only come to pick a fight today; he hadn't expected Moriarty to be there.
"Does Mr. Moriarty mean you want to use force against us?" Li Quan said provocatively.
"Heh. Sir, who gave you the courage to think that if you hit me on my own turf, I would just sit there and let you? Aren't you being a bit delusional? Even if you brought a lot of brothers, I still want to ask you: do you have the ability to actually beat us?"
Moriarty looked disdainful. In his eyes, the few people Li Quan brought were nothing more than a rabble; they couldn't even beat Mona, let alone him.
For these people to want to cause trouble on his turf was truly overestimating their own capabilities.
Li Quan, having been looked down upon, was extremely displeased.
"I brought over a hundred brothers this time. Do you really think we can't handle you?"
Li Quan laughed confidently, looking at Moriarty as if he were an idiot. What Moriarty had just said made him very unhappy. So what if I'm not good at arguing? I can definitely beat people up!
Moriarty looked at the mentally challenged Li Quan and felt that if he didn't teach him a lesson, he would be doing a disservice to that punchable face of his.
"You brought this on yourself, so don't blame me. And don't go around saying I bullied a small person like you."
After speaking, Moriarty waved his hand, and his bodyguards rushed toward Li Quan and his men.
