42: Chapter 42 An Eye for an Eye

Victoria, however, acted as if she hadn't heard. Seeing a glass of red wine on the table, she unceremoniously picked it up and drank it.

She took a sip and said, "You all really have a sense of leisure! To think you're still drinking at a time like this."

Everyone was stunned. Moriarty's expression immediately darkened.

"What does this have to do with you? Aren't you here to pick a fight? If you've got the guts, then drink all of this wine for me."

After saying this, Moriarty waved his hand, signaling his underlings to rush forward.

Victoria's people certainly wouldn't let her suffer such a big loss. The two sides began to stare each other down.

Zhang Shan didn't move. Gu Nan, however, stepped forward and threw a hook, landing a punch squarely on Victoria's face. Victoria couldn't dodge and took several punches head-on, completely devoid of any ladylike grace.

Seeing his mistress being beaten, Victoria's butler immediately ordered the bodyguards to step up and protect her. But how could Gu Nan let him off so easily? He prepared to move in and knock her down again.

"Don't go too far! We didn't do anything just now; we only drank a bottle of your wine. What right do you have to treat our mistress like this?" the butler clamored indignantly.

Gu Nan sneered.

"Have you forgotten your arrogant attitude from just a moment ago? And you were laughing so happily! Don't act like you're protecting your mistress now; I didn't see any of you step up to protect her when she was getting beaten just now!"

"W-we... we just didn't react in time. Once we realized what was happening, we went to protect our mistress," the butler argued stubbornly.

"Shut your mouth, you useless fool!" Victoria was practically dying of anger because of this idiot!

She was here to cause trouble, not to beg for mercy. This butler really had no brains at all.

Gu Nan brought a chair over to Zhang Shan and let him sit down. He then walked over to Victoria, picked up the wine glass she had just drunk from, and smashed it hard against the floor.

Shards flew everywhere.

Gu Nan coughed.

"What's the matter, Madam Victoria? Aren't you here to cause trouble? Aren't you here to seek justice? How did you forget all about that the moment you saw us?"

Hearing Gu Nan's reminder, Victoria suddenly remembered that she was here to cause trouble today.

"Moriarty, was it you? Did you pull some strings? Did you trash my establishment? And cut off my capital chain?"

At the thought of this, Victoria clenched her fists tightly.

Moriarty gave a sinister smile.

"Oh my, Madam Victoria, your brain still works after all. You're right, I did it all. What can you do about it?"

Victoria reached out, preparing to slap Moriarty's face.

Mona suddenly grabbed Victoria's hand.

"Crack." A crisp sound of bone breaking rang out, accompanied by Victoria's pig-like shriek. In an instant, Victoria fainted.

"How useless. She fainted from just that little bit of pain," Gu Nan mocked mercilessly.

The butler suddenly pulled Victoria behind him. He was afraid that if anything happened to Victoria, his master would not let him off. Regardless of the outcome, he still had to act.

"Killing someone is just a matter of a head on the ground. Haven't you vented enough? Our business is already on the verge of bankruptcy! Our mistress's hand has been broken by you! Isn't that enough? Let us go!" the butler accused, his tone a mix of indignation and servility.

"Letting you go is fine! That's not a problem," Zhang Shan smiled.

The butler silently breathed a sigh of relief. But before he could speak, Gu Nan kicked his leg, snapping it, and incidentally dislocated his arm.

"Ah!!! Damn it, you have no integrity!" The butler let out a miserable scream, nearly fainting from the pain.

"Oh my, what are you saying? I said I'd let you go, but I never said how I would let you go!" Zhang Shan said with an innocent look.

"Oh, right. Brother Moriarty, which floor is this base on? If someone were thrown down, would they be killed?"

"You're joking, brother! This floor isn't very high. If they fall, they won't die, but they'll probably be crippled," Moriarty said nonchalantly.

"That's good. It fits my expectations. You see, I can't kill Madam Victoria. After all, I promised Mr. Xu Yi that I would spare Madam Victoria's life," Zhang Shan said with a slight smile, yet sounding perfectly serious.

Suddenly, the smile on Zhang Shan's face vanished. He ordered his underlings to open the window, then pointed at the wide-open window.

"Tell me, will you jump down yourselves, or should I send you down?"

Everyone present turned pale. They felt a chill run down their spines. Only Gu Nan watched him with a grin. Shan Zi was indeed still the same old Shan Zi—ruthless and vicious.

Victoria's men couldn't help but recall the scene from just a moment ago. They were so cruel even to a woman. Now they were forcing the butler to jump. It was too terrifying!

"I don't want to, I don't want to, I don't want to jump! I don't want to die!" the butler wailed.

"Hmph." Zhang Shan waved his hand. Seeing this, his men threw the two of them down.

Hearing the sound of heavy objects hitting the ground, Victoria's men felt a violent jolt in their hearts.

Just now, their butler had been thrown down.

They were afraid that in the next second, Moriarty would throw them down too. But all they could do now was remain calm.

Zhang Shan and Moriarty couldn't even be bothered to take a look. Seeing their men staring blankly at the window, Moriarty clapped his hands lightly, drawing everyone's attention back to them.

"What's the matter? You're watching so intently, do you want to go down too?"

Hearing Zhang Shan say this, Victoria's men subconsciously shook their heads.

"Mr. Robinson, Mr. Moriarty. We didn't participate in that matter just now. Please let us go, we beg you."

"Tsk, I really feel sorry for Madam Victoria! Look at what kind of people she has under her. They really shouldn't be such cowards!"

Gu Nan splashed a basin of cold water on Victoria. She woke up from her fainting spell.

Victoria looked at him, trembling.

"What exactly do you want? What do you want? You can't kill me, you promised my father, you can't kill me."

"Oh my, don't worry, Madam Victoria, I won't kill you. I, Robinson, am a man of my word! However, our family has been a bit short on funds recently. You should at least pay up for that, right?"

"You trashed my establishment, and you still want us to compensate you with money? Aren't you thinking a bit too naively?" Victoria said, her voice weak and breathless.

"Then, do you want to die?" a chilling voice came from ahead.
