128: Chapter 128 Su Ye, I want to be your secretary.

"Mmm—" Early in the morning, Gu Qingyan opened her eyes groggily, a slightly hoarse moan escaping her throat. Things had been a bit too wild last night, leaving her voice strained.

She rubbed her eyes and, acting on instinct, reached out to feel the space in front of her. The next moment, her eyes snapped open; the gray bed was empty. There was no sign of Su Ye.

Gu Qingyan felt a sudden hollow emptiness in her heart. She had experienced her first time with Su Ye last night, yet when she woke up this morning, her lover was nowhere to be seen.

Just as Gu Qingyan was wondering where Su Ye could have gone, the bedroom door opened. Su Ye walked in carrying a cup of amber-colored water, wisps of white steam rising from the rim.

Seeing Gu Qingyan awake, Su Ye smiled and said: "You're finally awake. I've been up for a while now."

Seeing Su Ye appear before her with a gentle smile in his eyes, the unease and emptiness in her heart were instantly filled.

Su Ye walked to the bedside, sat down, and handed her the cup: "Drink this, dear. This is authentic wild honey I had someone buy earlier. It'll be good for your hoarse throat, and it's warming for your stomach."

Gu Qingyan held the cup with both hands, watching the rising steam. She took a tentative sip and found it wasn't too hot—not the kind you could gulp down, but perfect for sipping. As the wild honey water went down, a warm current flowed straight to her stomach, and her mouth filled with the faint fragrance of flower petals.

Su Ye smiled and ruffled Gu Qingyan's slightly messy long hair: "Finish that and get up to wash up. I've already prepared breakfast."

Gu Qingyan nodded obediently. In three or five minutes, she had finished the honey water. Frowning slightly, she carefully climbed out of bed and headed toward the bathroom.

Ten minutes later, seeing Gu Qingyan limp out of the bathroom, a smug smile appeared on the corner of Su Ye's mouth.

Gu Qingyan rolled her eyes at Su Ye before walking over to sit at the bar table. Su Ye also stood up and headed toward the bar.

"You knew it was my first time, yet you still went on for so long last night. I don't think I'll be able to leave the house for the next two days."

Hearing Gu Qingyan's playful reproach, Su Ye could only silently pick up a dumpling and place it in her bowl, changing the subject: "These dumplings are frozen, but I think they're pretty good. Give them a try."

Gu Qingyan took a bite upon hearing this, and her eyes lit up. It was indeed quite good; inside were bouncy, chewy shrimp, and the flavor was incredibly rich.

"These dumplings are delicious. Where did you buy them? I'll go buy some another day."

Su Ye smiled and pointed at the dozen or so translucent, crescent-shaped dumplings with a faint pink hue on the white porcelain plate: "You can't buy these outside. If you want some, I can give you some from my stash. I had a chef at Zhilan Restaurant make them for me after I ate there once. Their production is limited, so they only gave me a little over a hundred. The shrimp inside are Antarctic krill, which have a very low annual yield, and even Zhilan Restaurant doesn't get many."

Gu Qingyan, her mouth stuffed with a dumpling, finally managed to chew and swallow it before asking with some confusion: "Antarctic krill? I feel like I've heard of that somewhere."

Su Ye smiled and placed another dumpling in Gu Qingyan's bowl: "As the name implies, this Antarctic krill is caught in the Antarctic. According to the International Antarctic Association's regulations, fishing zones are designated, and each zone only has a forty-five-day window for harvesting each year, which is why the yield is so low. Furthermore, after being caught, they are quickly placed into refrigeration chambers that use aerospace-grade liquid nitrogen cooling technology. Just maintaining the operation of this flash-freezing chamber consumes the equivalent of the daily electricity usage of 300 households. The frozen krill are then packed into titanium alloy containers, flown by private plane from the Antarctic research supply station to Hong Kong, and then transported to Chengdu. The transportation and freezing cost per kilogram is equivalent to half a month's salary for an average person."

Gu Qingyan clicked her tongue in amazement and hurriedly stuffed another dumpling into her mouth to calm her shock. She felt like she wasn't eating dumplings anymore, but gold.

Su Ye didn't say anything. With him around, Gu Qingyan would get used to it sooner or later. However, it was time to urge Attorney Shi Jun again. If the Family Office wasn't set up soon, he'd have to speak up and do everything himself just to get some good food, which really lowered his standards.

"By the way, what do you want to do next? Is there anything you'd like to do? I can support you in whatever it is."

Fearing that Gu Qingyan might misunderstand, Su Ye quickly added: "Of course, if you want to rest at home, that's okay too. I'm just worried you'll get bored."

Gu Qingyan understood what Su Ye meant. After thinking it over carefully, she looked up and said: "I don't want to start a business. I think that would make us both too busy, and we'd have too little time together. I also don't want to just lie around at home; that would make me lose my energy and spirit."

"I've thought it over carefully, and I've decided to learn how to be a good secretary. In the future, I'll be your secretary. That way, we can spend a lot of time together. Plus, I can help you out."

Seeing Gu Qingyan's eyes shining and her little face filled with excitement, Su Ye smiled and stroked her head.

Gu Qingyan was smart. Accepting Su Ye's unfaithfulness didn't mean she didn't want to be with him often. In this situation, the best method was to use work to increase the time spent by Su Ye's side, which would reflect her own value while also allowing her plenty of time to be close to him.

Besides, if there's work, the secretary does it; if there's nothing, well, you do the secretary.

For the next two days, Su Ye obediently stayed at home with Gu Qingyan and didn't go anywhere.

Su Ye hadn't expected that although Gu Qingyan looked much more delicate than Zhao Sihan, she was so resilient. After the first day, she actually lasted for two more days without calling it quits, which really made Su Ye doubt his own prowess.

By the fourth day, Su Ye returned home from the gym before noon. In truth, for the past two days—aside from the first day's breakfast which Su Ye had prepared—every other meal had been prepared by Gu Qingyan, who would drag Su Ye to the nearby Hema to buy groceries and cook at home.

And truth be told, Gu Qingyan's cooking was actually quite good; at least, Su Ye ate it with great relish.

"I'm home." Su Ye called out as he entered and changed his shoes, but the little cook who usually greeted him holding a spatula and wearing an [I am the God of Cooking] apron didn't appear.

Su Ye frowned and quickly walked toward the kitchen. Three dishes and a soup were already set on the table, covered to keep warm, but there was no sign of Gu Qingyan.

"Ding-dong!" As a message notification sounded on his phone, Su Ye picked it up and saw it was from Gu Qingyan.

[Su Ye, I've rested for three days. I need to work hard today, otherwise, I feel like I'm going to turn into a canary if I keep going like this. I was afraid I wouldn't be able to say it to your face, so I just left. Love you! (づ ̄3 ̄)づ╭❤~]

Su Ye chuckled and shook his head. Recalling the weary look on Gu Qingyan's face this morning, he understood. This stubborn Silly Gu had held out for two days, but in the end, she couldn't keep it up.
