183: Chapter 183 The Gluttonous Girl, Little Zhao

As the setting sun dyed the fiber sand of the racecourse a warm gold, Zhao Sihan finally reined in "Rouge." The date-red steed was panting heavily, its mane covered in bits of grass. She wiped the sweat from her forehead and shouted at Su Ye, who was not far away:

"I can't do it anymore! This horse can really run—it has even more energy than my own Rouge!"

She then shouted toward General Manager Lin Wensen:

"General Manager Lin, how long have you been cooping these horses up? It's way too energetic!"

General Manager Lin replied with a wry smile:

"This—this hasn't been running for long at all."

Zhao Sihan giggled, leaning over the horse's back to stroke Rouge's face, and said:

"That just means Rouge likes me, right, Rouge?"

To her surprise, Rouge actually snorted, though it was unclear if it was responding to Classmate Xiao Zhao.

Su Ye urged his black horse, "Meteor," over. Seeing her messy hair and the dust on her riding gear, he couldn't help but laugh:

"Who was it that said they were going to beat me just now? Giving up after only a few laps?"

Zhao Sihan stiffened her neck and retorted:

"I was just letting you win!"

She then muttered under her breath:

"Besides, Brother Chen lost, didn't he?"

Yu Chen, who was slowly approaching on his own horse, Zhui Feng, paused for a moment before shaking his head with a laugh.

Su Ye then delivered a follow-up blow:

"You don't even look at how old Brother Chen is; you're still comparing yourself to him?"

Yu Chen wasn't annoyed. He smiled and pointed at Su Ye and Zhao Sihan, saying:

"You two are teaming up to pick on me."

Suddenly, Zhao Sihan tilted to one side and almost slid off the horse, but fortunately, Su Ye reached out in time to support her waist. "Ouch!" She took the opportunity to grab Su Ye's arm and said:

"Quick, help me down, my legs are numb!"

Yu Chen and Chen Ze were also startled. Yu Chen shook the yellow rosewood prayer beads in his hand and said to Zhao Sihan:

"Sihan, I'm not just saying this to nag, but horseback riding requires technique. You can't just rely on brute force. Look at you—if you had fallen off the horse, that would be no laughing matter."

Zhao Sihan was helped off the horse by Su Ye. She rubbed her legs and whispered:

"I just haven't ridden in a long time, so I'm not quite used to it."

She then lifted her little head and boasted arrogantly:

"Just wait until I've practiced for a while; by then, you'll all be nothing but pushovers."

Chen Ze smiled and handed over two bottles of chilled mineral water:

"Alright, alright, you win. We'll have roasted whole lamb tonight to help you recover. But it's a deal—since you lost earlier, you have to toast me with a glass of Lao Xue beer."

Zhao Sihan took the water and took a big gulp, saying nonchalantly:

"A toast it is! I'm going to drink you under the table later."

Chen Ze looked at Su Ye and pointed at Zhao Sihan:

"Little Su, this is a war started by your household. Don't blame Brother Chen and me if we team up to take you both on later."

Classmate Xiao Zhao hugged Su Ye's arm and said with a grin:

"Bring it on! We're not afraid. Right, Old Su?"

The group chatted and laughed as they walked toward the clubhouse. General Manager Lin Wensen had already arranged for attendants to wait at the entrance, handing them clean towels and warm water. Zhao Sihan took a towel to wipe her face, then suddenly remembered something and slapped her thigh:

"Oh no! The beef jerky in my bag is still at the stables! My mom bought that specially for me; it tastes so much better than what you can buy outside!"

Su Ye paused for a moment and then said:

"I'll have a waiter go get it."

Zhao Sihan had already turned and run toward the stables:

"No, no, I'll go myself! I'll feed 'Rouge' some more beef jerky while I'm at it. It ran so hard, I have to reward it!"

Su Ye shook his head helplessly and said to Yu Chen and Chen Ze:

"You guys go to the Western restaurant and wait for me. I'll go bring her back."

When Su Ye found Zhao Sihan at the stables, she was squatting in front of "Rouge," feeding it beef jerky with one hand and grooming it with the other, muttering:

"Good girl, Rouge. Next time I come to see you, I'll bring you Shenyang chicken racks; they taste way better than beef jerky!"

After hearing this, Su Ye glanced at the nearby stable hand who looked completely resigned to his fate. He smiled apologetically, then pulled Classmate Xiao Zhao up:

"Stop feeding it that stuff. The vet says it's easy for it to get indigestion."

"Let's go. Brother Yu and the others are waiting for us to eat."

Zhao Sihan reluctantly stroked "Rouge's" head.

"I know, I know."

"But can I come back tomorrow? I still want to ride."

Su Ye picked up her LV bag and said:

"As long as you want to come, you can come anytime."

"But it's better if you have your family send over your riding gear, or I can take you to get a custom set. The off-the-rack one you're wearing isn't quite right; it almost caught on the stirrup earlier."

Su Ye checked the time:

"Stop dawdling. If we don't go eat now, Brother Yu and the others will have finished the roasted whole lamb."

As soon as Zhao Sihan heard "roasted whole lamb," she immediately dragged Su Ye toward the Western restaurant:

"Ah! What are we still talking for? Move your legs and let's go!"

Just as they entered the restaurant, they smelled the rich aroma of roasted meat. Yu Chen and Chen Ze were already sitting at a window table, with several bottles of Lao Xue beer on the table.

Yu Chen smiled and waved at them:

"You guys are finally here!"

"The roasted whole lamb just arrived. If you had been one step later, Chen Ze and I would have started digging in."

Zhao Sihan walked quickly to the table. Looking at the glistening roasted whole lamb on the rack, she swallowed her saliva:

"Cut me a piece quickly! I want one with skin—that part is the tastiest!"

Su Ye cut a lamb chop for her and placed it on her plate:

"Eat slowly, don't choke."

Zhao Sihan took the lamb chop and began eating it in large bites, saying indistinctly:

"So good! It tastes even better than the barbecue shops in Shenyang! Brother Ze, hurry up and pour the drinks, I want to toast you!"

Chen Ze smiled and poured her a glass of Lao Xue:

"Drink slowly, nobody is going to steal it from you."

Just then, the door to the Western restaurant was pushed open, and a group of people walked in. Leading them was a man in his fifties, wearing a custom dark suit, with deep, piercing eyes—he looked like someone not to be trifled with. Behind him followed another man of about the same age, with a gloomy temperament and the air of a ruffian.

When Su Ye saw the two of them, his eyes turned cold instantly. Su Ye didn't recognize the man in front, but he was very familiar with the one behind, even though they hadn't met in person: the helmsman of the Qin Family—Qin Lang. Meeting this old dog at this time probably meant no good.

Yu Chen and Chen Ze also wiped the smiles from their faces, and the atmosphere suddenly became tense.

Zhao Sihan was gnawing on a lamb chop when she sensed something was wrong. She looked up at the door, then at Su Ye's expression, and asked in a low voice:

"What's wrong? Who are those two people?"

Su Ye didn't speak, just held her hand tightly. Over there, Liu Hongbo and Qin Lang had also noticed them. Qin Lang's gaze lingered on Su Ye for a few seconds, a cold smirk curled the corner of his mouth, and he walked straight toward them.

Qin Lang's leather shoes clicked dully against the marble floor of the Western restaurant; every step felt intimidating. He was followed by two tall bodyguards, whose muscular frames were faintly visible beneath their black suits, their eyes scanning the surroundings vigilantly.
