148: Chapter 148 I Want to Find a Wife

On a desolate, uninhabited hill near Chengdu, where even the trees were sparse, there were only various strange-looking large rocks and grass growing tenaciously.

Qin Lang looked with a hint of sorrow at the unconscious middle-aged man in the dirt pit. There was a scar on the man's face, one he had taken for Qin Lang over twenty years ago. If the middle-aged man hadn't blocked that knife, Qin Lang would likely be dead, and naturally, the current Qin Family would not exist.

Qin Qitian stood to the side, leaning on a shovel and panting heavily. The pit before them—over a meter deep, two meters long, and one meter wide—was one he had dug himself. Although he worked out regularly, he still couldn't handle this.

After a moment of reflection, Qin Lang asked, "Did you use a large enough dose of the drug?"

Qin Qitian patted his chest and said, "Don't worry, Dad, there's absolutely no problem. It's enough to keep Third Uncle asleep for three days and three nights. Forget about burying him in dirt; even if you went down there and stabbed him a few times, he wouldn't wake up."

Qin Lang nodded, then took the shovel from Qin Qitian's hand and shoveled a load of dirt into the pit. The clumped yellow soil, mixed with fine gravel, landed on the middle-aged man's fierce yet peaceful face, even scraping his skin a little, but the man showed absolutely no signs of waking up.

Although Qin Qitian was also very tired, he couldn't just stand idle now that his dad had started working. He picked up another shovel, and together with his father, they began shoveling dirt—one scoop after another. Feeling it was too slow, he simply switched to a snow shovel from the north and began pushing the dirt directly from the top of the pile down into the pit.

This made the progress much faster. Before long, all the dirt piles on both sides of the pit had been pushed in, and the pit was completely filled. Qin Qitian used the shovel to pat everything down, compacting the soil. Afterwards, he pushed two large rocks, weighing over a hundred pounds each, onto the spot, and Qin Lang took some loose gravel he had collected from a sack and poured it over the top.

After finishing all this, Qin Lang looked at the overcast sky and said with a smile, "Qitian, let's go, let's head back. It looks like it's going to pour soon. By tomorrow, all of this will be washed away by the rain. No one will know someone is buried here, and no one will know we did it."

Qin Qitian nodded, glanced back at the yellow earth that looked no different from the surrounding area, and turned to follow his father while carrying the shovel.

The two walked down the hillside, and within two minutes, their figures disappeared into the night. A bush not far from them swayed, then quickly fell silent again.

Two minutes later, a figure quickly ran up from the bottom of the hill. A flashlight clicked on, scanning the surroundings—it was none other than Qin Qitian. However, the shovel was gone from his hand, replaced by a black handgun.

After scanning the surroundings and finding no movement, he walked over to the large rock they had been sitting on earlier to rest, pulled out a mobile phone from underneath it, and began to check it.

A few minutes later, having quickly watched the video, Qin Qitian scanned the surroundings once more before heading down the hill.

Everything was silent; there was no sound other than the rustling of the breeze.

"Pitter-patter—" Raindrops as big as beans fell from the sky, quickly turning into a downpour, as if trying to wash away all the ugliness in the world.

A figure emerged from behind a large rock, shining a flashlight and checking the surroundings once more. It was Qin Lang, who should have left long ago. He held a flashlight in his left hand and a black handgun in his right.

After confirming there was no one else around, Qin Lang stood at the site of the pit for a moment before turning and leaving.

Another half hour passed, and the heavy rain had turned the ground into a muddy mess everywhere.

Only then did two figures stand up from the bushes. A beam of light from a mobile phone shone out, revealing their faces: one was a middle-aged man with a sleazy appearance, and the other was a youth in his early twenties covered in acne. Both were dressed in all-black clothing with black powder smeared on their faces, though the rain had already washed away streaks, revealing the yellow skin underneath.

The middle-aged man hugged himself, trying to get a little warmth, and cursed in a low voice, "You idiot, you almost got us exposed! Did you see what those two Qin Family bastards were holding? If we had been exposed, there would be two more people buried in this desolate wilderness tonight."

A flash of panic crossed the youth's eyes, whether from the cold or fear, and he said tremblingly, "I—I didn't know those bastards would come back. Who knew they were so cautious?"

The middle-aged man slapped the back of the youth's head twice, hard. "Did you watch all those spy dramas for nothing? I told you to learn, to study! You're so eager when watching porn, but you fall asleep watching spy dramas. I really can't deal with you. What about professional ethics?"

The youth rubbed his head, feeling aggrieved, and muttered, "Well, I asked you to take me to experience it, but you wouldn't. If I don't watch porn, what else can I watch? I'm still a virgin, after all."

The middle-aged man jumped up and gave the youth another hard slap on the back of the head. "I told you, the water is too deep for you to handle. It's not that I didn't want to take you."

After saying this, he opened the mobile phone in the waterproof bag and watched the video inside. Although the camera angle was very low, it was still possible to see the Qin Family father and son burying someone, including the scene where they returned later with handguns to check the area.

After tucking the phone into his chest, the middle-aged man let out a long sigh and glanced at the youth, saying, "Let's go. Still spacing out here?"

After saying that, he headed towards the other side of the hill. The youth hurriedly followed, grinning, and said, "Uncle, I heard that the bounty this time, as long as we get evidence that can crush the Qin Family, is one million! How much are you going to give me? I want to find a woman."

"Where would there be a million? That's a lie. It's only a few tens of thousands. Don't worry, we'll split it 70-30. I get 70, you get 30. Would I ever treat you unfairly? And I've told you, call me President when we're out. We need to be professional. We aren't some amateur operation; we want to grow, get stronger, and create new glories. Eventually, we'll bring your brother and the others out too."

Hearing the middle-aged man's words, the youth's mood dropped. "Ah—only a few tens of thousands? Why don't we sell it to the Qin Family instead, Uncle? They'd definitely be willing to pay a high price, probably millions."

The middle-aged man kicked the youth hard and said, "Are you crazy? We're doing this for justice for the boss above. Giving it to the Qin Family would be aiding and abetting evil; it's illegal."

The youth tumbled, then scrambled up and quickly followed, saying, "I was wrong, Pres—President. Let's make a deal. Can you give me two hundred of that money in advance? I've saved three hundred yuan, and I heard it only costs five hundred to find a woman. Just let me go find one first——"

"Uncle, one hundred, one hundred is fine too. Any less and they won't do it! Uncle————"
