143: The goddess was confused, but Lin Mo's words rekindled her fire of killing gods!

The morning light of the second day did not come from a star.

It was the Natural Selection's ecosystem, simulating the soft light closest to Earth's 6:30 AM.

The light penetrated the porthole, casting warm patches on the floor.

In the air, there was a scent of grass and earth, diffused by the air purification system.

Lin Mo opened his eyes.

The spot beside him was already empty.

A faint, milky scent, belonging to a young girl, still lingered in the air.

A huge carrot pillow, crushed beyond recognition, lay lonely on the other side of the bed, silently proving that an uninvited guest had visited last night.

He got up, washed, and changed into a simple black combat uniform.

As he walked out of the room, the enticing sizzle of frying and grilling already came from the kitchen, accompanied by Gu Nianqiu's cheerful humming of an off-key tune.

This Little Girl seemed to have completely transformed last night's fear into the motivation to make breakfast.

Lin Mo did not disturb her; instead, he took the elevator to the panoramic observation deck on the top floor of the bow.

This was the place with the best view on the entire ship.

The massive dome-shaped porthole provided a 270-degree, unobstructed view.

Below, the vast, azure sea stretched out like smooth silk, boundless.

Beside them, marshmallow-like white clouds were within reach, silently pushed aside by the warship's force field shield, forming fleeting ripples.

In the distance, several emerald green islets looked like emeralds embedded in a blue canvas.

Occasionally, a few white seabirds with peculiar wings curiously circled this steel creation, larger than mountains, emitting crisp calls.

The scenery was too beautiful to be of this world.

It was more like a meticulously carved, breathtakingly luxurious cage.

Lin Mo leaned against the cold porthole, quietly observing it all.

The powerful perception brought by the anti-matter core allowed him to "hear" the sound of the sea breeze brushing against the hull and "feel" the temperature of the sunlight.

But the more real all of this was, the colder and more bone-chilling the truth Lan Yue spoke of seemed.

A faint sound of footsteps came from behind him.

Gu Zhixia had also arrived there at some point.

She uncharacteristically wasn't wearing her signature black combat uniform but had changed into a set of off-white casual sportswear, which softened her agile and explosive physique by a few degrees.

Her long silver hair was casually tied into a high ponytail, making her look less sharp and more refreshed.

She didn't speak; she just imitated Lin Mo, walked to his side, and stood shoulder to shoulder with him.

They remained silent.

The cries of seabirds, the movement of clouds, and the steady, breathing-like hum from the warship's internal energy circulation system formed a strange symphony.

"It's ridiculous, isn't it?"

After a long while, Gu Zhixia spoke first, her voice carrying a deep, uncontrollable self-mockery.

"We fought tooth and nail, grew stronger, battled..."

"The more we struggle, perhaps the more interesting it becomes for the 'audience' in the stands."

Her gaze fell upon her own reflection in the porthole.

In the reflection, the self with sharp eyes but a hint of fatigue and confusion between her brows was so unfamiliar.

"A game of gods..."

She murmured softly, as if asking Lin Mo, and as if asking herself.

"Lin Mo, tell me, do we... really have a chance to win?"

"Our opponents are the gods who make the rules."

"Everything we do, every time we get stronger, every Victory, will it... all just be playing a slightly more interesting clown in a script they've already written?"

This thought, like a poisonous thorn, had been stuck in her heart since last night.

It even began to shake her proud will.

Lin Mo turned his head and looked at her.

He saw the rare, almost collapsing fragility in her phoenix eyes, which were always as cold as frost.

He didn't say any comforting words.

Nor did he preach any grandreason.

He simply stretched out his hand and pointed to the magnificent, almost fake, seascape.

"Then let's smash all of this."

His voice was very calm, almost cruel in its calmness.

Gu Zhixia was stunned.

Lin Mo withdrew his hand, his gaze returning to her, and for the first time, an undisguised, cold madness was reflected in his placid eyes.

"They think this is a game?"

"Then let them pay the price."

"They want to watch a show?"

"Then let's burn the stage and the stands, along with their divine thrones, to ashes."

"We may not be able to decide the beginning of the game."

He spoke slowly, each word like a heavy hammer, striking hard at Gu Zhixia's crumbling will.

"But we can choose to put an unexpected end to this damn game, in the most tragic, most insane, most reckless way imaginable."

Gu Zhixia's heart trembled violently!

She looked at Lin Mo's sharply defined profile, at his eyes that reflected the entire star sea but burned with the fire of destruction.

The confusion, wavering, and powerlessness in her heart... seemed to be instantly shattered by an even stronger, purer will!

Yes.

Why think so much?

When did I, Gu Zhixia, ever need to consider such a thing as winning odds?

If you're unwilling, then resist!

If it's a joke, then turn this joke into everyone's nightmare!

A long-lost battle intent, purer than ever before, instantly ignited in her chest like erupting magma from the ground!

It wasn't for glory, nor for survival.

It was a desperate madness to drag even the high and mighty gods from the clouds into the mud and destroy them together!

She subconsciously clenched her fists.

Her nails dug deep into her palms, and the stinging pain made her feel an unprecedented clarity and excitement!

She turned her head sharply, the confusion in her phoenix eyes swept away, replaced by a blazing fire capable of incinerating stars!

She met Lin Mo's gaze, a cold and arrogant curve forming on her lips.

"Good."

One word, decisive.

"Then let's start with the Leviathan."

"Let's smash this first piece to smithereens!"
