147: Are you angry because I stepped on your sand castle?

“Alarm!”

A piercing buzz suddenly ripped through the momentary silence after the Victory!

“Hyperspace fluctuations detected! Bearing, dead astern!”

Gu Zhixia instantly snapped back to attention, her voice taut as a bowstring.

“Quantity… over fifty!”

“It’s Leviathan’s reinforcement fleet!”

The moment her voice fell, in the dark cosmos behind the Natural Selection, patches of space rippled violently, like water struck by pebbles!

The centers of the ripples tore open, forming ugly spatial rifts.

The next second, one warship after another, emblazoned with the emblem of a ferocious giant beast, warped out of the distorted space like dumplings falling into a pot!

Leading them was a flagship.

Its design was elegant and luxurious, its entire body a sickly, ominous pure white, starkly out of place among the crude and ferocious warships surrounding it.

On the Bridge, the Vice President “Jay” was holding a glass of crimson liquid, a lazy yet cruel smile playing on his lips.

He was preparing to enjoy how that disobedient “gift” would be toyed with by his Phantom Squad and the base defenders, ultimately letting out cries of despair.

However, when the warp was complete, when the vision stabilized…

The familiar landmark, which should have been the Purgatory Furnace, was gone.

In its place was a bottomless crater, its edges still vitrifying, emanating terrifying radiation and the aura of death.

The smile on his face froze, inch by inch.

“Smash!”

The expensive crystal goblet was instantly crushed to dust by his uncontrolled grip!

Crimson wine, mixed with glass shards, slowly dripped down his pale, slender fingers, like fresh blood.

Those phoenix eyes, always seemingly full of affection, as if capable of drowning a person, were, at this moment, completely filled with a boiling, mad killing intent, enough to flay someone a thousand times over!

His gaze pierced through the endless void, locking onto the lone black warship hovering above the giant crater, as if admiring its own masterpiece.

“Na…tu…ral…”

“…Se…lec…tion!!!”

Those three words were squeezed out from the deepest part of his clenched teeth, one by one, each syllable steeped in endless venom and madness.

A storm suddenly descended.

More than fifty elite Leviathan warships, with the pure white flagship at their core, swiftly deployed into a grim attack formation.

Like a pack of deep-sea sharks thoroughly enraged by the scent of blood, they surrounded the Natural Selection from all directions.

Hundreds of gaping muzzles, black as night, no longer offered any warning or probing shots.

Destructive energy began to pre-charge in the muzzles, and the air filled with a teeth-grinding “humming” sound as the energy rapidly climbed.

The entire battlefield was so silent you could hear a heartbeat.

“Brother Mo, they look so angry…”

Gu Nianqiu, at some point, had picked up the carrot plushie from the floor, hugging it tightly to her chest, and mumbled in a tiny voice.

“Is it because… we trampled their sandcastle?”

This innocent, almost cruel, analogy made Gu Zhixia’s lips twitch involuntarily.

It was more than just trampling.

It was practically obliterating the beach and the entire sea along with it.

But her gaze was more fervent than ever before.

One could even say it was burning!

In the previous battles, whether it was crushing the fleet or wiping out the base, Lin Mo had resolved everything with a mere thought, using power that was almost like divine punishment.

She was more like an audience member in a VIP box, applauding a deity.

Awe-struck, yet distant.

But now, it was different!

This fleet before her, fully organized, led by elites, and driven by fury!

This was a true battlefield!

This was the stage that made her blood, as a warrior, boil the most!

“Let me go!”

Gu Zhixia suddenly turned around, her phoenix eyes, burning with fierce flames, staring intently at Lin Mo.

Her voice was resolute, carrying an undeniable determination!

This was not a request; it was a declaration!

“‘Thunder Dragon’ needs a real battle to test its limits!”

“This fire in my chest also needs an outlet!”

Every cell in her body was screaming, craving! Craving to unleash that monstrous rage against the so-called “gods” onto these lackeys in the most direct, most violent way possible!

“These mad dogs, having lost their den, are perfect for…”

“A sacrificial banner!”

Lin Mo looked at her.

Watching her, like a divine weapon about to be unsheathed, eager to drink the enemy’s blood, a barely perceptible ripple flickered in his calm eyes.

It was admiration, and also approval.

He knew this girl, proud to her bones, needed a thoroughly exhilarating battle to fully ignite that god-slaying madness that belonged to her.

“You may.”

He slowly nodded.

“But, do not get bogged down in battle.”

Lin Mo’s voice, like a cold tactical order, instantly drove a steel nail named ‘reason’ into Gu Zhixia’s boiling fighting spirit.

“Your mission is not to annihilate them.”

“But to disrupt their formation, like a venomous thorn plunged into their flesh, to make them hurt, to make them chaotic, to buy time for the ‘Endgame’ system’s next charge.”

“Understood.”

Gu Zhixia responded crisply.

She turned, no longer a trace of hesitation, and strode towards the elevator leading to the Hangar.

Her high-tied silver ponytail drew a cold and resolute arc behind her.

A few seconds later.

The Natural Selection’s belly armor silently slid open.

A nimble figure, flickering with silver-blue electrical light, without the slightest hesitation, like a meteor carrying endless fury, fiercely tore through the sky!

The “Thunder Dragon” mech, entering the fray!

“What is that…?”

On the flagship Bridge, Jay’s adjutant watched the signal on the radar screen, which suddenly shot out with an alarmingly high energy reading, his pupils contracting sharply.

“A mech? What does she intend to do?!”

“Fight our entire fleet with one mech?!”

“Foolish arrogance…”

A cruel, predatory sneer appeared on Jay’s face.

He had forcibly recovered from his initial fury, regaining the elegant yet ruthless calm of a superior.

“Transmit my orders.”

His voice was cold and playful.

“Phantom Squad, go play with that young lady.”

“Let her understand in despair how fragile and helpless a lone lioness is before a true pack of wolves.”

“The rest of the warships, focus fire on that mothership!”

“I want to turn it into a mass of scrap metal floating in space!!!”

As his cold command was issued.

Four special assault ships, their designs noticeably more ferocious than the other warships, their hulls painted dark purple, silently detached from the fleet like four shadows imbued with Life.

They rapidly converged on the silver-blue electrical light, following an eerie, anti-physical trajectory!
