93: Prelude to Revenge

One hour later.

As the massive black silhouette of the Natural Selection, like a guillotine suspended in the sky, once again loomed over the Isle of Wisdom, Lin Mo and Gu Zhixia stood side-by-side at the exit of the shipboard factory.

Behind them was the steel behemoth, Fafnir, quietly reposing in the dry dock.

It was in slumber, yet it made the air throughout the entire warship seem to solidify.

“Last time we were here, we were chased by a bunch of vines and hit by spikes,” Gu Zhixia said, looking at the familiar yet strange jungle below. Her voice betrayed no emotion, but her unconsciously clenched fists revealed her inner turmoil.

That humiliating escape was a deeply ingrained shame for her.

“The tables have turned,” Lin Mo’s voice was calm.

He reached out and gently patted Fafnir’s cold, hard, black dragon scales.

The touch was icy, yet it contained power capable of burning mountains and boiling seas.

“Today, it’s our turn to be the hunters.”

“Brother Mo, Sister, you both must be careful!” Gu Nianqiu’s anxious voice came through the communication channel.

She was curled up in the commander’s chair on the Bridge, her small body huddled, her two tiny hands clutching the armrests tightly, her big eyes fixed unblinkingly on the footage displayed on the main screen.

“Don’t worry,” Lin Mo’s tone was filled with absolute confidence.

“Today is just a one-sided slaughter.”

He leaped.

The flame dragon mecha landed steadily on the Fafnir’s dorsal pilot platform.

Gu Zhixia’s thunder dragon mecha followed closely, docking with impeccable precision onto the mounting point on the behemoth’s leg.

“Roar—!!!”

A metallic dragon roar, powerful enough to tear through the sea of clouds, erupted from deep within Fafnir’s chest!

Its eyes, burning with golden flames, snapped open!

The next second, its massive body transformed into a black shadow of death, without the slightest delay, plunging vertically from ten thousand meters high towards the remembered area at the island’s center!

A terrifying sonic boom cloud exploded behind it.

The violent airflow even tore a colossal, ground-reaching hole through the clouds below.

“Target: island central area, coordinates locked.”

“All creatures that dare to show their heads, eliminate them on sight.” Lin Mo’s orders were cold and efficient.

Fafnir’s dive speed was extreme; almost the instant the command was given, it had already reached the low altitude above the island.

This time, they did not choose to land on the beach.

Instead, they descended directly from the sky in the most brutal and unreasonable manner, arriving over the strange jungle that had once given them so much trouble.

Boom!!!

The behemoth landed.

The entire island shook violently, as if its core had been dislodged by this terrifying weight.

The vine-filled area that had once made them tread carefully was as fragile as weeds in a garden before Fafnir’s mountain-like mass.

Countless dark green vines were directly crushed deep into the mud, without even a chance for a dying struggle.

“Sizzle sizzle…”

As if sensing the terrifying aura of this uninvited guest, the surrounding ground began to stir violently.

Strange, mutated plants burst forth wildly from underground.

There were the man-eating vines that had ambushed them like venomous snakes last time.

And there were the trumpet flower shooters that could spray deadly spikes.

They swarmed from all directions, ten times more numerous than before, forming a green, death-filled ocean of plants, attempting to completely devour and digest this steel creation that dared to invade their territory.

“A bunch of rabble.” Gu Zhixia’s voice was filled with disdain and icy killing intent.

She piloted the thunder dragon mecha, detaching from Fafnir’s leg mounting point, and landed steadily on the ground.

Lin Mo’s flame dragon mecha also leaped down from the dragon’s back.

Two ferocious mechas, over three meters tall and full of draconic features, stood shoulder to shoulder in front of Fafnir, like two vengeful guardian gods returned from hell.

“Want to see who can kill faster?” Gu Zhixia’s phoenix eyes slightly lifted, and a provocative smile appeared on her usually cool and pretty face.

“The loser washes dishes for a week,” Lin Mo readily accepted the challenge, his tone calm.

“It’s a deal!”

Before her words finished, Gu Zhixia’s thunder dragon mecha had already transformed into a dazzling blue electric light, charging fiercely into that green ocean of plants!

“Thunder Dragon Dance!”

Her high-frequency vibrating particle spear, under her unparalleled control, became an impenetrable, death-dealing whirlwind sparkling with blue electric arcs!

The thunder dragon mecha’s figure weaved and dodged through the plant clusters, as if dancing on a knife’s edge.

Every thrust, every spin, inevitably brought forth large swathes of branches and leaves torn into green shreds, along with dark green sap!

Those once incredibly tough man-eating vines, before the spear blade shimmering with blue electric arcs, were like butter under a hot dinner knife, easily sliced through in swathes.

The overwhelming torrent of poisonous spikes couldn't even get within three meters of her mecha before being completely shredded and vaporized by the wildly dancing spear shadows!

That was no longer a battle.

It was a one-sided, violent aesthetic of overwhelming force!

It was a waltz of death, composed of lightning and steel!

On the other side.

Lin Mo’s movements appeared much “unadorned” and simple.

He didn't even use the dragon wing module on his back.

The flame dragon mecha simply took steady steps, as if strolling in its own backyard, and entered the plant clusters on the other side.

“Dragon Claw Ripper.”

The sharp alloy blades on the outside of his arms, like dragon claws, silently extended, gleaming with a bloodthirsty dark red luster.

He did not pursue flashy techniques and large-scale destruction like Gu Zhixia.

Every one of his attacks was simple to the extreme.

Swing claw.

Tear.

That was all.

But even such simple movements carried an unparalleled, absolute sense of power.

No plant could withstand one of his claw strikes.

Whether it was vines as tough as steel, or strange plants covered in hard shells like shields, before his dragon claws, they all met the same fate—torn in half at the waist!

The sound of shattering was dull and crisp.

If Gu Zhixia was a deadly dancer on the battlefield, then Lin Mo was a silent, efficient, unstoppable killing machine.

The two mechas, like two giant plows with red-hot blades, carved out two paths of death from two directions, paved with broken branches and green sap, through that green ocean of plants.
