43: Suicide bombing

Longyuan's face was ashen, veins throbbing on his forehead.

He stared intently at the excessively young captain on the screen, his chest heaving violently.

“200 wood, 200 metal, 100 gunpowder.”

Longyuan's voice was very low, each word squeezed out from between his teeth.

“I was blind, please, in your great generosity, let us off the hook.”

As these words left his mouth, he felt his dignity being trampled underfoot, brutally crushed.

Lin Mo leaned back in the captain's chair, his expression indifferent.

“It seems you aren’t very sincere, are you?”

His tone was understated, yet it was like a knife, directly piercing Longyuan’s heart.

Longyuan completely exploded.

“If you insist on pushing things to the extreme, we are not to be trifled with either!”

His voice roared from the loudspeaker, shaking the entire Bridge.

Lin Mo’s lips curled into a cold sneer.

“Then we’ll have to see if you have the ability.”

Zzzzt—

The communication was unilaterally cut off by Longyuan, and the screen instantly plunged into darkness.

Gu Nianqiu immediately rushed over, her face flushed, her eyes full of adoring light.

“Brother Mo, you’re so handsome!”

She hugged Lin Mo’s arm tightly, her voice so sweet it could drip honey.

“That captain was completely owned by you!”

Gu Zhixia also walked to Lin Mo’s side, her slender fingers gently intertwining with his arm.

“But, will they really have some kind of trump card?”

A hint of worry tinged her voice, and rational light flickered in her phoenix eyes.

Gu Nianqiu immediately retorted, “Even if they’re strong, they still can’t beat Brother Mo!”

Lin Mo gently stroked Gu Nianqiu’s small head, his gaze passing through the porthole to the distant Longxiang Fleet.

“After the exchange just now, I’ve already figured out their true strength.”

His voice was calm and confident.

“The entire fleet only has the flagship that can fight; the rest are all very low level.”

“Presumably, Longyuan didn’t give them resources to upgrade, just treating them as cannon fodder.”

On the flagship’s Bridge, the atmosphere was so oppressive it was almost solidified.

Longyuan’s face was ashen, the veins on his temples throbbing.

Thunder Tiger cautiously edged closer.

“Boss, what do we do now?”

His voice carried obvious fear and unease.

Longyuan didn't answer, but instead dialed an internal communication.

“Ling Feng.”

His voice was as cold as if it came from hell.

“You have 1 minute to leave the a-class sailing ship and go to another ship!”

Ling Feng’s bewildered voice came from the other end of the communication.

“Boss, what about my ship?”

Ling Feng’s voice trembled with disbelief.

“Are you going to abandon my ship?”

“No!”

Ling Feng’s voice suddenly became agitated.

“Without my ship, I’ll have no freedom at all!”

“Boss, you can’t do this; that’s not what you said back then!”

His voice was filled with despair and anger, like a beast driven to a dead end.

In the channel, Ling Feng’s tearful pleading voice sounded.

“Why? Boss... aren’t we brothers? Why are you doing this to me!”

On Longyuan’s face, a nearly pathological, elegant smile appeared.

“Brothers?”

He quietly retorted, his tone full of disdain.

“Didn’t you all come to me because you wanted to live by my light?”

Ling Feng was speechless; this was indeed true. If he hadn't joined this fleet, he might not have even been able to ensure basic survival.

“You are merely pawns on a chessboard.”

“If you wish to jump out of the game, you will naturally be eliminated.”

After speaking, Longyuan directly cut off the communication.

He closed his eyes, his spiritual power surging wildly.

An invisible mental command, like chains, instantly wrapped around the a-class sailing ship.

Ling Feng felt his control over the ship being stripped away, and fear instantly engulfed him.

“No! Boss! You can’t do this to me!”

He desperately tried to regain control, but the mental chains were terrifyingly strong.

The a-class sailing ship began to break away from the fleet formation, its bow slowly turning towards the Natural Selection.

Ling Feng desperately realized that his ship was accelerating uncontrollably.

His final voice echoed through everyone’s communication channels, carrying endless despair and curses.

“Longyuan! You demon! I won’t let you off even as a ghost!”

The a-class sailing ship’s speed grew faster and faster, plowing a white wake across the sea.

It charged straight towards the Natural Selection, like a lit cannonball.

Inside the Natural Selection’s Bridge, Lin Mo frowned.

“What do they want to do?”

He was clearly at a loss, not understanding the intent behind the opponent's suicidal charge.

The energy beam module instantly charged, and the white death ray once again shot towards the a-class sailing ship.

Boom—

The beam accurately hit the a-class sailing ship’s hull, but the damage was still shared by the shared durability.

Although the a-class sailing ship’s hull was damaged, it still did not stop its charge.

It got closer and closer, closer and closer.

Ling Feng stood in the cockpit, his eyes full of despair and unwillingness.

He looked at the huge black warship ahead, knowing that he was about to be shattered into pieces.

Rumble—

The a-class sailing ship violently crashed into the Natural Selection’s electromagnetic shield.

Blinding blue light instantly erupted, and the entire sailboat disintegrated in the energy impact.

Wood chips, metal fragments, and Ling Feng’s body, all turned to dust in that instant.

This time, the Natural Selection shook violently, as if it had hit an iceberg.

[Suffered self-destructing collision, Shield Value -50000, Remaining Durability 132984 / 200000]

The glaring red numbers instantly dropped the atmosphere in the Bridge to freezing point.

Gu Nianqiu screamed, startled by the violent impact, and hugged Lin Mo’s arm tightly.

“Brother Mo, they crashed into us!”

Gu Zhixia gripped her long gun, her eyes flashing with incredible shock.

“What kind of tactic is this? Using their own ship as a suicide truck?”

“That alone knocked out a quarter of our shield!”

Lin Mo’s expression, for the first time, became solemn.

He realized that Longyuan was even more ruthless than he had imagined.

To deal with them, this man had not hesitated to sacrifice his subordinate.

On the other ships of the Longxiang Fleet, everyone was shocked by this scene.

They watched helplessly as Ling Feng and his a-class sailing ship turned to dust, a huge fear rising in their hearts.

“Boss… Boss really… Ling Feng…”

A crew member’s voice trembled, unable to complete his sentence.

Thunder Tiger’s face was as pale as paper.

He suddenly realized that in Longyuan’s eyes, they, his subordinates, were not people at all, but merely pawns that could be discarded at any time.

On the flagship’s Bridge, Longyuan opened his eyes.

There was no expression on his face, as if the one who had just been sacrificed was not a living person, but an insignificant pawn.

“The effect is good.”

He said indifferently, with a hint of satisfaction in his voice.

“Fifty thousand points of damage, much more effective than cannon fire.”

Thunder Tiger and Wang Ye exchanged glances, both seeing deep fear in each other’s eyes.

They had followed Longyuan for so long, but this was the first time they had seen such a cold-blooded and ruthless side of him.

“Boss, we… do we really have to do this?”

Thunder Tiger’s voice trembled.

Longyuan turned his head, his eyes as cold as a venomous snake.

“Do you have an objection?”

Thunder Tiger immediately lowered his head, not daring to speak further.

Longyuan’s gaze fell back on the distant Natural Selection.

“Since conventional methods don’t work, then we can only use unconventional methods.”

The corners of his mouth curved into a cruel smile.

“Everyone listen, from now on, we’re playing a new game.”

“We’ll choose someone, and the next one picked, you’re up!”

“If you don’t comply, the consequences will be the same as his!”

As these words were uttered, the entire fleet’s communication channel instantly fell silent.

Fear, despair, anger, various emotions churned in everyone’s hearts.

But no one dared to speak.

Because they all knew that Longyuan would really kill them.

On the Natural Selection, Lin Mo looked at the warships in the distance that were starting to stir restlessly, his eyes becoming exceptionally cold.

“Beast.”

He cursed under his breath.
