151: Got the Heart of Hell! This scavenging trip is a huge profit!

“Buzz—”

Space was trembling.

The high-frequency particle blade didn't make a piercing cutting sound as it contacted the vitrified surface; instead, it produced a grating hum that felt as if it could shatter one’s soul.

The land, formed at the epicenter of the nuclear explosion and possessing a hardness surpassing any known conventional alloy, was as fragile as ice touched by a branding iron before the unparalleled, violent (violent and fierce) power of "Thunder Dragon."

A deep fissure was forcibly torn open.

Countless dark red energy streams, like hellish magma, gushed madly from the fissure, only to be entirely blocked by the indestructible silver-blue energy shield surrounding "Thunder Dragon."

Inside the cockpit, Gu Zhixia’s eyes were focused with unprecedented intensity.

This was not a crude excavation.

It was more like a precise surgical operation performed above a volcano, with an almost zero tolerance for error.

She had to precisely control every bit of the particle blade's output power and cutting angle, to extract the deeply buried "heart" without detonating the still-raging energy field beneath the surface.

With each cut, she could clearly feel a terrifying energy, filled with destructive will, furiously lashing back along the particle blade.

The cockpit of "Thunder Dragon" even let out a strained, creaking groan of protest.

“It's here!”

Lin Mo’s voice, like the most precise metronome, rang out at the critical moment.

Gu Zhixia’s eyes narrowed, and she abruptly pulled back her strength!

"Thunder Dragon's" other massive mechanical arm, like an eagle's talon, plunged decisively into the freshly cut fissure, which radiated terrifying heat!

Its five fingers closed, gripping tightly onto an irregular metal block that was emitting a dark golden light!

Then, it violently pulled it out!

Boom—!!!

The moment the metal block left the ground, the energy accumulated deep beneath the surface completely lost control!

A scorching pillar of magma, over ten meters in diameter, shot skyward like an enraged fire dragon!

It narrowly grazed "Thunder Dragon's" fuselage, soaring into the sky with the might to incinerate all things, burning a massive hole in the dark red heavens.

Gu Zhixia didn't even have time to breathe, immediately maneuvering "Thunder Dragon," carrying the scorching "trophy," to retreat to the safety of the landing craft at maximum speed.

It wasn't until the landing craft's hatch was completely sealed, isolating the hellish scene outside, that she finally let out a long sigh of relief.

Cold sweat had already soaked her close-fitting combat suit.

A soft, small hand offered a cool, damp towel and a glass of mint lemon tea, faintly steaming with coolness.

It was Gu Nianqiu.

“Sister, you worked so hard! Quickly wipe your sweat!”

Gu Zhixia took it, and the cool sensation slightly calmed her racing blood.

Lin Mo’s gaze, from beginning to end, was fixed intently on the "trophy" brought back by the mechanical arm.

Currently, it floated silently within the high-strength containment field inside the craft.

That was their true objective for this trip.

It was roughly the size of a basketball, entirely dark golden, with a metallic texture that seemed to breathe slowly.

Its surface was not smooth, but covered with complex, layered patterns, like dragon scales, rising and falling as if breathing.

It did not emit terrifying high temperatures, but merely gazing at it gave one the illusion that their soul was about to ignite.

As if within it, a gigantic fire dragon from the primordial era was sealed, whose mere sleeping breath could stir the laws.

[Unknown high-dimensional energy aggregate detected...]

[Analyzing structure... Energy composition is homologous to "fire god" mode, with higher purity, but in an extremely unstable state...]

[Suggested name: heart of the blazing dragon.]

“heart of the blazing dragon...”

Lin Mo softly uttered the name, his eyes gleaming with an almost greedy light.

He had gambled correctly.

The Leviathan Guild was indeed researching the power of "laws." This energy core was very likely their product, imitating the fire law of "fire god."

A flawed yet incredibly powerful failed experiment.

It was precisely because it was homologous to "fire god" that it survived that god-like cleansing, and even absorbed some of the explosion's energy, becoming even more violent and pure.

“Brother Mo, is this shiny stone the ‘shell’ you wanted?”

Gu Nianqiu curiously leaned closer, her small face filled with wonder.

“It looks like a big, glowing dried longan.”

“It’s much more dangerous than a dried longan,” Gu Zhixia said, wiping her sweat, still shaken. “Just a tenth of a second more, and we would have been swallowed by that fire dragon.”

“Then... what is it for?” Gu Nianqiu asked the crucial question, blinking her large eyes.

Lin Mo turned his head, his deep gaze sweeping over the two sisters.

He said, word for word:

“It’s the last piece of the puzzle.”

Without further explanation.

Lin Mo immediately piloted the landing craft back to the Natural Selection.

This time, he didn't go to the Bridge, but directly to a mysterious area located deep within the warship, an area that even Gu Zhixia had never set foot in.

A massive Hangar slowly slid open before them.

The sight within caused Gu Zhixia's pupils, accustomed to grand spectacles, to contract to their absolute limit!

Here, there were no mountains of supplies, nor rows of engineering robots.

In the center of the vast, almost sacred Hangar, there was only a gigantic, silver-gray metal skeleton connected by countless precise mechanical arms and energy conduits.

That was a... an unfinished mech.
