94: Dishwashing Bet

In the jungle, the race between two killing machines had reached a fever pitch.

Gu Zhixia's thunder dragon mecha transformed into an indefatigable blue electric light.

Every one of her movements was precisely calculated to the millimeter, always cutting into the weakest junctions of the plant clusters from the most cunning angles.

The high-frequency vibration particle spear in her hand was no longer a weapon, but an extension of her will, a paintbrush of death.

Wherever the spear tip passed, lightning burst forth, and green sap mixed with shattered branches and leaves, forming an abstract painting filled with violent aesthetics.

She reveled in the feeling of dancing on a knife's edge, enjoying the absolute sense of control as she toyed with her enemies.

Lin Mo, on the other hand, presented a completely different picture.

His flame dragon mecha abandoned all unnecessary maneuverability and evasion.

He advanced steadily and resolutely, step by step, crushing deeper into the sea of plants.

He was a moving mountain of steel.

Anything that dared to block his path, whether tough vines or thick hard shells, would be directly torn to shreds by those dragon claws, burning with dark red flames, in the most unreasonable manner possible.

No skill.

Only pure strength.

His attack method was monotonous to the point of being boring, yet its efficiency was terrifyingly high.

Often, while Gu Zhixia was still clearing an area with her magnificent spear dance, Lin Mo had already used the simplest and most brutal method to carve through another, larger area of plant growth.

Inside the Bridge of the Natural Selection, Gu Nianqiu's small hands were clenched so tightly they were sweating.

She watched the real-time combat footage, split into two sections on the main screen, marveling at her sister's fluid operations one moment, and then being awestruck by Brother Mo's simple and brutalcrush the next.

"Go, Sister! Go, Brother Mo!"

The Little Girl waved her small fists, becoming the sole audience and cheerleading squad for this competition.

Ten minutes later.

When the two mechas rendezvoused at the other end of the jungle, behind them lay only two wide, deathly passages paved with green pulp and plant debris.

The entire area of dangerous vines, once teeming with threats, had been thoroughly plowed through by them.

Gu Zhixia retracted her spear, and the blue electric light of the thunder dragon mecha gradually faded.

She turned her head, looking at the flame dragon mecha beside her, which was almost completely unscathed, with hardly any sap on its armor, and her beautiful phoenix eyes subtly twitched upwards.

"Me, three hundred and twelve plants."

Her voice was still cool and clear, but carried a hint of imperceptible pride, that of a victor.

Lin Mo did not speak.

He simply brought up his mecha's kill count statistics.

A cold number appeared on the shared tactical screen.

Three hundred and thirteen.

No more, no less.

Just right, only one more than her.

The air instantly fell into a subtle silence.

Gu Zhixia's phoenix eyes widened slightly in disbelief.

She stared intently at the glaring number, as if trying to burn through it with her gaze.

How was that possible?

Her operations were clearly flawless, her efficiency pushed to the extreme, how could it be... She suddenly remembered the last second.

After Lin Mo finished clearing his assigned area, he seemed to have "casually" torn apart an inconspicuous morning glory growing in the middle area between them with his dragon claw.

So, he had calculated it from the very beginning.

"You..."

Gu Zhixia's lips moved, wanting to say "You cheated," but the words caught in her throat, swallowed by her accursed pride.

Losing was losing.

Making excuses was not her style.

"Hmph."

She ultimately only let out an almost inaudible cold snort from her nose, turning her head away, no longer looking at him.

The slightly reddened tips of her ears, however, betrayed the turmoil within her at that moment.

"When we get back, a week of dishes."

Lin Mo's voice was calm, as if stating an established fact.

"I know!"

Gu Zhixia retorted irritably, her tone filled with unwillingness.

She controlled the thunder dragon mecha, walking towards the center of the island without looking back, as if even a glance at Lin Mo would only make her more frustrated.

Lin Mo watched her back, which clearly carried a hint of sulkiness, and a faint curve appeared at the corner of his mouth.

With the crisis resolved, the two quickly arrived once again beneath the towering giant tree.

Standing once more before this god-like giant tree, their mindsets were now completely different.

Last time, they were insignificant mortals, needing to look up at a miracle.

This time, they were plunderers, wielding the power of gods.

"Let's do it."

Gu Zhixia looked up at the tree canopy, which soared into the clouds, and the various colored fruits hanging there like stars, her voice filled with anticipation.

"Alright."

This time, there was no need to aim and shoot each fruit with a pistol.

The dragon wing modules on the backs of the flame dragon mecha and thunder dragon mecha unfurled simultaneously.

The two grotesque steel creations rose from the ground, transforming into two streaks of light, soaring straight into the sky.

Their movements were astonishingly fast.

The thunder dragon mecha was responsible for the left side, and the flame dragon mecha for the right.

They were like two locusts invading an orchard; wherever they passed, nothing was left.

Red [Power Fruits], green [Agility Fruits], yellow [Endurance Fruits], and those [fruit of wisdom] emitting a dreamy purple glow, were plucked from the branches in large swaths, directly stored in the mechas' built-in storage compartments.

This was no longer harvesting.

This was a pillage.

In less than twenty minutes, the fruits from the middle and lower sections of the entire giant tree were completely plundered.

The once colorful canopy was now bare, with only a few distinct fruits at the very top, still emitting a brilliant golden light.

The two hovered in mid-air, looking at those few golden fruits, like small suns, and both tacitly paused their actions.

"Last time, picking these things is what drew out those guardians."

Lin Mo's voice came through the communication channel, carrying a hint of solemnity.

"So what?"

Gu Zhixia's voice was filled with innate confidence and arrogance.

"Last time we could run, this time, we can tear them apart along with this broken tree."

She held the high-frequency vibration particle spear horizontally across her chest, the electric arc at the spear tip flickering.

The aura of the entire thunder dragon mecha became sharp and dangerous.

"You go pick them."

"I'll cover you."

Her voice was beyond question, and her beautiful phoenix eyes stared intently at the desolate ground below, as if anticipating something to emerge from it.

Lin Mo looked at her profile, filled with fighting spirit, and said nothing more.

He nodded.

The flame dragon mecha's engine let out a low roar.

The dragon wings on its back vibrated sharply, and the entire mecha transformed into a dark red streak of light, rapidly flying towards the top of the tree canopy, which almost touched the clouds.

The prelude to vengeance was about to play its final movement.
