10: Under the construction of the mage tower

Brian held his breath, gazing at the rune traces flowing from Klein’s fingertips, awe and anticipation intertwining into a burning light in his eyes.

"Uncle, the difficulty of inscribing Magic Formations is indeed extraordinary. I will definitely learn diligently from you."

Klein’s lips held a faint smile, his fingertips hovering over the ice-crystal-like stone surface of the Mage Tower:

"The core of inscription lies in the 'sense of breathing' of magic power—like writing with a pen, each stroke needs to be steady and continuous, and more importantly, your spirit must resonate with the runes, listening to the rhythm of magic power's flow."

Before he finished speaking, a faint golden magic power light pattern had condensed on his fingertips, slowly outlining the first rune of a Level 4 Protective Magic Formation on the Mage Tower body.

Those fingertips seemed to transform into an elegant conductor, each line like a solidified movement of music, possessing both geometric precision and the unique Agile of magic.

When the rune took shape, the Mage Tower body shimmered with fine blue light ripples, like a layer of flowing liquid armor.

Brian meticulously copied the residual magic traces in the air, occasionally furrowing his brow and asking questions.

Klein would then stop, using the tip of his staff to draw a rune breakdown diagram in the air, patiently explaining the nodes and magic power thresholds, until the young man's fingertips could finally manage to simulate smooth arcs.

As time passed, the runes of the first Level 4 Protective Magic Formation were finally inscribed.

When the last rune closed, the entire intermediate mage tower suddenly lit up with brilliant blue light, as if infused with a soul by the stars.

Klein clapped his hands, covered in stardust: "See, Brian, this is the initial effect of a Level 4 Protective Magic Formation taking shape. Next, I will continue to inscribe other Magic Formations to make this intermediate mage tower truly impregnable."

After Klein had inscribed all the Level 4 Magic Formations step by step.

He turned to look at the eager Brian, "You can try your hand at the Level 3 Magic Formation—my magic power will protect you throughout, so feel free to make mistakes."

Brian's fingertips trembled slightly on the Mage Tower wall, and when the first complete rune glowed faintly under his palm, Klein's voice came with approval: "Steady your breathing. See, the magic power is following your will."

The young man's eyes instantly lit up, as if he had found a new language to converse with the world.

Days later, the Mage Tower was enveloped in colorful flowing light, the magic power of different Magic Formations converging like rivers into the sea, intertwining into an orderly energy network on the Mage Tower body.

Brian caressed the cold stone wall, his fingertips feeling the temperature of the rune pulsations, a heavy sense of accomplishment welling up in his heart.

"Next is the final debugging," Klein's palm rested on his shoulder, "This step requires the delicacy of embroidery, making each Magic Formation both a 'shield' and a 'spear' for each other."

During the debugging days, Brian was no longer merely an executor.

They adjusted the magic power balance between the various Magic Formations, ensuring that the Mage Tower could perform optimally when facing different situations.

In this process, Brian's understanding and application of Magic Formations were elevated to a deeper level.

He no longer simply operated mechanically according to Klein's guidance but began to actively think, proposing some of his own insights and improvement plans.

When he suggested the idea of "using wind-element runes to divert overloaded energy from the Protective Magic Formation," a look of surprise flashed in Klein's eyes: "An interesting idea, let's try it."

The improved Magic Formation successfully resisted simulated lightning impact in testing, and the flickering frequency of the blue light was nearly 30% more stable than before.

The young man gazed at the pulsating light patterns, experiencing the taste of "creating magic" for the first time.

After a period of effort, the intermediate mage tower finally completed all debugging and optimization work.

This Mage Tower was not only magnificent in appearance, but its internal functions and defensive capabilities also reached an extremely high standard.

Standing in front of the Mage Tower, Brian was filled with emotion. He turned to Klein and said gratefully:

"Uncle, all of this is thanks to your help and guidance. Without you, I wouldn't have been able to complete such a grand project."

Klein smiled and shook his head, "Brian, this is the result of our combined efforts."

After speaking, the two exchanged a smile and walked together into this intermediate mage tower that belonged to Brian.

From the outside, the Mage Tower looked to have roughly the same footprint as before, but inside, due to the Level 4 Space Expansion Magic Formation, it was ten times larger than the original.

Brian excitedly examined the brand new Mage Tower.

He carefully observed the layout and structure of each floor, and after confirming everything, he smiled and said to Klein:

"Uncle, this Mage Tower is too perfect, I am very satisfied. Also, thank you for patiently guiding me."

"Why be so polite with me? You have now taken an important step. In the future, you must cultivate and research even harder to let this Mage Tower fulfill its due purpose."

"Uncle, don't worry, I will definitely not disappoint you," Brian said solemnly.

They gradually finished inspecting the entire Mage Tower. The Mage Tower's energy core hummed, and Klein, looking at the flowing rainbow light within the elemental pool, said to Brian:

"It needs seven days of energy accumulation to fully awaken. During this time, I will teach you magic skills and combat techniques. The day after tomorrow, we will go to the Zhongnan Mountain Range."

"Zhongnan Mountain Range?" Brian's eyes suddenly lit up like starlight.

"That's where the most vivid 'magic classroom' is," Klein nodded with a smile,

"The complex terrain will hone your casting timing, and the just-right strength of magic beasts will teach you to control your magic power output—remember to bring your spatial ring and your vigilance. The wind and rocks there will all become your teachers."

Brian seemed to feel the spatial ring in his hand already starting to heat up.

Back in the castle, he looked out at the deepening twilight, as if he could already hear the wind of the Zhongnan Mountain Range, carrying ancient magic whispers, calling from afar.
