6: Differences in mage talent levels
After the two left, Brian turned to Gude and instructed him:
"Gude, recently recruit more young and beautiful maids in the castle. Remember to carefully vet their backgrounds to ensure they are of good character and have a clean history."
Gude paused for a moment, then a knowing smile appeared on his lips, and his eyes glinted with shrewdness as he respectfully replied:
"Lord, rest assured, I will arrange it immediately. I will select maids of clean background and outstanding appearance to serve in the castle. They will certainly serve you well, making the castle more warm and comfortable."
Brian nodded in satisfaction, then fell into deep thought again.
With the Golden Finger, many territorial affairs were secondary; the propagation of bloodline descendants was the top priority.
The more bloodline descendants there were, the more talents and characteristics he could replicate, and his own strength would naturally become stronger.
In this world where the extraordinary power of a Mage was fundamental, only with great strength could one truly possess everything.
There's a saying: "My neighbor hoards grain, I hoard guns; my neighbor is my granary."
As long as there are many children and blessings, my future is not a dream!
However, there was also a problem: as Brian's cultivation grew higher, his body would also become stronger.
At that time, ordinary women might not be able to withstand him?
Then he remembered something else and said to Gude:
"Also, for family members who are pregnant or about to give birth, provide the best care and resources. Ensure that every new life can grow in the optimal environment, inheriting and carrying forward the glory of our family. They must feel the warmth and care of the family."
Gude once again accepted the order, feeling genuine admiration for Brian's foresight.
He knew that everything Brian did was for the long-term development of the family, and to gain a firm foothold in a world where the strong reigned supreme.
He seemed to see the family heading towards a glorious future under Brian's leadership.
With Brian's instructions, the entire castle began to bustle.
Maids were carefully selected, the butler rushed around, and the castle was filled with a tense yet excited atmosphere.
As for Brian himself, he once again immersed himself in meditation, because only by continuously improving his strength could he better protect his family and his lineage.
In the meditation room, Brian's body and mind gradually sank into the ocean of spirit and magic.
It was an ineffable and wonderful state; he seemed to merge with the surrounding magic, feeling it slowly flow within his body, like a gurgling stream nourishing dry land, and like warm sunlight shining into every corner.
Each circulation of magic made his spirit fuller and his power more abundant, as if all the cells in his body were cheering.
Each time he entered the construction of a spiritual sphere, it made his spirit more active, thereby driving the surge of magic.
The two forces continuously circulated in separation and integration.
As the meditation deepened, Brian began to attempt more precise control over his spiritual power.
He carefully guided his spiritual power to construct complex and exquisite rune arrays within his body.
These rune arrays were the mysteries of magic application discovered by Mages, each containing powerful energy, like brilliant stars twinkling in the darkness.
Proficient control of runes and the combination of rune arrays would play an extremely important role in the future.
Time quietly slipped away in meditation. He opened his eyes, which gleamed with confidence, like the brightest stars in the night sky.
At this moment, not only had his spiritual power been further enhanced, but he had also completely mastered his Second-level Mage magic.
Only a Mage who masters power is a true Mage, like a skilled craftsman who can create exquisite works at will.
As for constructing the spiritual sea sphere?
That indeed takes a long time.
With his current Third-grade Mage Talent, it would still take him half a year to meditate to form one sphere.
If he still had Fifth-grade Mage Talent, it would take two years to meditate to form one.
Basically, for every level of talent improvement, the time required to meditate to form a spiritual sea sphere is half the time of the lower-grade talent.
That is, Fifth-grade Talent: 2 years, Fourth-grade Talent: 1 year, Third-grade Talent: half a year, Second-grade Talent: 3 months, First-rank Mage Talent: one and a half months.
As for higher-grade talents, Brian could not know them; it was as if that was an unattainable dream.
It was fortunate that Brian now possessed Third-grade Mage Talent; otherwise, for a First-rank Mage to advance to a Second-level Mage with Fifth-grade Mage Talent, the risk of failure would be very high.
As for the impact of talent on breakthroughs and the effects of breakthrough failure:
Fifth-grade Mage Talent - First-rank Mage to Second-level Mage: 50% chance of breakthrough (Level 2 Mage to Level 3 Mage: 40% breakthrough chance, then for each level increase, the breakthrough chance decreases by 10%) - Permanent loss of 50% spiritual sea sphere upon breakthrough failure.
Fourth-grade Mage Talent - Breakthrough to Second-level Mage without bottleneck (Level 2 Mage to Level 3 Mage: 50% breakthrough chance, then for each level increase, the breakthrough chance decreases by 10%) - Permanent loss of 40% spiritual sea sphere upon breakthrough failure.
Third-grade Mage Talent - Breakthrough to Third-level Mage without bottleneck (Level 3 Mage to Level 4 Mage: 50% breakthrough chance, then for each level increase, the breakthrough chance decreases by 10%) - Permanent loss of 30% spiritual sea sphere upon breakthrough failure.
Second-level Mage Talent - Breakthrough to Level 4 Mage without bottleneck (Level 4 Mage to Level 5 Mage: 50% breakthrough chance, then for each level increase, the breakthrough chance decreases by 10%) - Permanent loss of 20% spiritual sea sphere upon breakthrough failure.
First-rank Mage Talent - Breakthrough to Level 5 Mage without bottleneck (Level 5 Mage to Level 6 Mage: 50% breakthrough chance, then for each level increase, the breakthrough chance decreases by 10%) - Permanent loss of 10% spiritual sea sphere upon breakthrough failure.
Mage Talent has an enormous impact on a Mage, practically an insurmountable chasm.
For example, a Fifth-grade Mage Talent attempting to break through from a First-rank Mage to a Second-level Mage, if he fails once, he would need 2 years to re-meditate and construct the spiritual sea sphere.
If a Level 2 Mage to Level 3 Mage fails, it would require 4 years to reconstruct the sphere, and the breakthrough chance also becomes 40%.
And the lifespan of a Second-level Mage is 200 years, while a Third-level Mage is 300 years.
Only at Level 4 Mage does the lifespan undergo a fundamental transformation, thus gaining 1000 years of life.
This leads to many Mages with Fifth-grade Talent never breaking through to Level 4 Mage before they die.
"Since magic control is complete, and spirit, energy, and vitality are fully unified, it's time to go back and claim my reward from father!" Brian thought to himself.
"Hehe! The reward father promised earlier, the intermediate mage tower, here I come!"
Brian stood up, stretched his body, which had become somewhat stiff from prolonged meditation, and then strode out of the meditation room.
His steps were firm and powerful, as if carrying an unstoppable momentum, as he headed towards the Mage Tower teleportation array.
