169: Witness, guidance

After the joy of successfully creating the "Level 6 Overlimit Law Roar Cannon," Brian quickly calmed down.

He clearly realized that the power of this spell had already surpassed the scope of a regular Level 6 spell, even touching the edge of Level 7.

In the Mage World, privately testing a spell of such power without reporting it was an extremely unwise and dangerous act, likely to attract the attention or even punishment from the Empire's law enforcement agencies.

He remembered the esteemed Catherine Luna, who had given him help and guidance on multiple occasions.

A powerful Level 9 Mage was undoubtedly the best witness and guide.

Without the slightest hesitation, Brian contacted Catherine through the magic net.

Soon, Catherine’s elegant and composed figure quickly appeared on the light screen.

“Brian?” Catherine raised an eyebrow slightly, with a hint of just the right amount of curiosity, “It seems you’ve made new progress again?”

She had long experienced the creativity and troublemaking ability of this young junior.

“Good day, Your Excellency Catherine.” Brian bowed respectfully and said directly:

“Indeed, there has been progress. I have several new achievements that I would like you to review and guide me on!”

“Oh? Tell me more?” Catherine leaned forward with interest.

A projection screen unfolded behind Brian, clearly listing the summaries of his achievements.

“First, my Level 5 intelligent robot army has completed a comprehensive upgrade and specialization.”

He pointed to the data and structural diagrams flowing on the screen:

“Building upon the 'Basic Type,' we have derived the 'iron oath guardian' specializing in heavy defense, the 'sky patroller' for strategic reconnaissance and electronic warfare, the 'breaker' for heavy firepower assault, the 'annihilator' for stealth special operations, and the 'Sanctuary' for advanced field medical support.

They each perform their duties, and through modular design and tactical cooperation, they can exert synergistic combat power that surpasses the sum of individuals in a planar war.”

Catherine's gaze swept over the data and she nodded slightly: “A systematic approach, very good. Has it been tested in actual combat?”

“Yes, Your Excellency. Its reliability and effectiveness have been verified in the conquest of multiple low-level planes,” Brian affirmed.

“Hmm, what’s next?” Catherine seemed even more interested.

“Secondly, it’s a construct weapon platform developed based on the Level 5 overlimit spell, the Railgun.”

Brian switched the projection, displaying images and data of the "ring of judgment" and "final judgment."

“This is the individual 'ring of judgment,' positioned as a tactical-grade floating cannon, capable of stably firing Railguns with a power of 90,000 spell units.”

Next, the image changed to a scene of twelve silver rings coordinating their attacks:

“And the 'final judgment,' composed of twelve 'ring of judgment,' possesses multiple attack modes. Its strongest—the Divine Authority Mode—can aggregate and increase attack power to 500,000 spell units, achieving stable overlimit attacks from a construct platform.”

When she heard the terms “construct platform” and “stable overlimit,” Catherine’s face showed clear astonishment:

“You can actually bestow overlimit power upon a construct? Brian, your talent in energy integration and rune application is truly astonishing.”

“Thank you for the praise, Your Excellency.” Brian responded humbly, then his expression turned serious:

“Finally, and most importantly, is the Level 6 overlimit spell I just completed, further developed based on the principle of the Railgun. This spell incorporates some new concepts, and its estimated power… may reach 30 million spell units. According to imperial law, I believe it needs to be reported, and I humbly request your presence to witness and guide me.”

“30 million units? Level 6 overlimit?”

Catherine’s casual expression completely vanished, replaced by complete seriousness and interest: “This has already touched the threshold of Level 7. Very good, Brian, you’ve surprised me once again.”

She nodded without hesitation: “I will handle the reporting matters. Coincidentally, I have a static demiplane under my name, specifically for testing high-level spells. Teleport to this coordinate, and I’ll take you there.”

“Many thanks, Your Excellency!” Brian’s heart settled, and he immediately activated his Mage Tower’s teleportation.

A moment later, the spatial transition was complete.

Brian’s Mage Tower appeared next to an unfamiliar teleportation plaza.

“Brian, come down.” Catherine’s voice directly sounded in his mind.

Brian immediately teleported to the plaza, and Catherine’s figure also appeared.

“Let’s go.” She didn’t exchange pleasantries, directly leading Brian through a specific teleportation gate.

The two arrived at a strange demiplane.

This place seemed to be in the cracks of time and space, surrounded by slowly flowing energy barriers like gray glazed glass. In the center was an extremely vast, empty plain, and the ground was made of an exceptionally sturdy dark alloy.

A sense of stagnation permeated the demiplane; even the flow of energy became sluggish, clearly designed to withstand high-intensity impacts.

“Begin, Brian.”

Catherine stood to the side, her hands casually clasped in front of her, her tone calm:

“Let me see how this spell of yours, which takes overlimit as its starting point and goes even further, is different.”

Brian took a deep breath, facing a gigantic alloy target that had appeared out of thin air in the distance, more than a hundred meters thick, inscribed with countless reinforcing runes, and capable of withstanding the bombardment of conventional peak Level 6 spells. He focused his mind.

In his spiritual sea, the model of the "Law Roar Cannon" was activated.

He did not rush to release it, but first entered that state of listening and tuning.

Catherine keenly perceived that Brian’s aura became extremely restrained, and his Spiritual Power diffused outwards in a way she had never seen before, as if exploring the fundamental laws of all things.

Immediately after, a hint of surprise flashed in Catherine’s eyes.

She saw that no violent energy convergence appeared in front of Brian; instead, a strange harmony was forming.

A pale blue polarized force field, an invisible torrent of momentum, subtle spatial folding ripples, and a wisp of decaying aura with a sense of finality that even made her slightly frown, were integrated in an exquisitely precise manner, resonating and amplifying each other, rather than simply superimposing.

This way of utilizing the essence of power had already exceeded the scope of ordinary Level 6 Mages, bearing the embryonic form of law coordination!

“Boom—!”

There was no deafening roar, only a dark trajectory that seemed to tear through the visual field, instantly piercing through the obstruction of time and space, hitting the distant target!

Under Catherine's gaze, the target, which could withstand peak Level 6 spells, at the instant it was touched by the dark trajectory.

Its surface reinforcing runes extinguished like candles in the wind, and the heavy alloy structure, as if having undergone eons of erosion, began to disintegrate and crumble from a microscopic level. Finally, at the core where it was pierced, the material structure was completely annihilated, turning into nothingness!

Only a huge hole, with edges as smooth as a mirror and an empty interior, remained, along with strange traces in the surrounding area, as if wiped away by some higher-level force.

The static nature of the entire demiplane produced violent ripples at the moment of impact.

The attack ended, the dark trajectory dissipated, and silence returned to the demiplane, but the traces of matter being forcibly erased from the plane of existence remained clearly visible.

Catherine quietly looked at the damaged area, remaining silent for a moment before slowly speaking, her voice filled with undisguised admiration:

“Remarkable, Brian.”

She turned to Brian, her gaze profound:

“This isn't simple energy stacking. You are attempting to coordinate the essence of different layers of power and making them resonate, thereby leveraging deeper rules. This is no longer just overlimit; it's laying the most solid foundation for your future comprehension and control of laws.”

“30 million units? No, the potential contained in this strike is far more than that. It has touched upon laws, and it's a kind of fused law where multiple laws collaborate, already capable of threatening Level 7 existences!”

She finally let out a sigh of amazement: “Truly incredible!”

To receive such high praise from a Level 9 Mage, Brian was excited, but still maintained his humility: “It’s all thanks to Your Excellency’s past guidance that I clarified the path of overlimit.”

Catherine nodded slightly, quite satisfied with Brian’s attitude:

“You don’t need to be overly modest. It is your ability to walk this path and make it your own. This 'Law Roar Cannon'—hmm—the name is very apt. It is very powerful, but you must remember that precisely because it has already touched the law level, you must use it with even greater caution.”

“Yes, I will strictly adhere to Your Excellency’s teachings.” Brian solemnly agreed.

“Experience this feeling well.” Catherine’s projection began to flicker slightly:

“Your perception and coordination of laws are your unique talent, and they are also the key to your path to Level 7 and even higher realms. I eagerly await the day you truly comprehend laws, to see what kind of brilliance you will radiate.”

“Let’s go, let’s see your other works in your Mage Tower!”

“Very well, Your Excellency, please.”

Brian bowed, his heart filled with excitement and a clear understanding of the path ahead.

The test was a complete success, not only receiving authoritative affirmation but also invaluable guidance.

His path had become even wider.

His path had become even wider.
