66: A level 9 mage

“That’s right, the work is done!” Eric smiled, revealing a look that clearly said, ‘Time to pay up!’

Brian saw Eric’s expression, immediately understood, and chuckled, “Haha! You’ve worked hard, Eric. I definitely won’t shortchange you on the payment.”

Saying this, he took out a spatial ring and handed it to Eric.

“Inside the spatial ring are 10 million high-grade magic stone. They are your reward! I’m truly grateful for your help in completing this Mage Tower!”

Eric looked at the spatial ring Brian handed him with satisfaction. After putting it away, he said, “Haha! I should also thank you for giving me the opportunity to earn money! If you need to increase the Mage Tower’s energy storage modules in the future, you can find me!”

“Alright!” The two smiled at each other in the Mage Tower’s top-floor hall.

Then, chatting and laughing, they walked towards Brian’s castle, preparing for a grand meal to celebrate the successful completion of the Mage Tower.

Just then, a flash of light appeared, and Phantom Moon’s figure materialized before them.

She looked at the Mage Tower in front of her and said to Brian, “Not bad, it was built very successfully. Brian, congratulations!”

Phantom Moon’s gaze shifted to Eric, and with a hint of a sneer, she said, “Eric, it seems your construction skills are still as exquisite as ever! Did you have fun playing with bugs?”

Eric gave an awkward laugh, “Yes, Aunt Catherine. I will reflect deeply.”

Phantom Moon retorted, then reprimanded, “Am I that old? You really should reflect. You’ve completely disgraced your teacher!”

Eric lowered his head, not daring to meet Phantom Moon’s gaze. He knew he had truly angered his teacher and her friends this time.

Seeing this, Brian quickly stepped in to mediate, “Your Excellency, Eric didn’t do it on purpose. He knows he made a mistake.”

At the same time, Brian gave Eric a look, urging him to apologize quickly.

Catherine snorted, “Hmph, within the World Sea, even we wouldn’t dare to act so recklessly. If something big went wrong with your recklessness, it would be no laughing matter!”

Eric looked up and sincerely said, “Auntie, I know I was wrong. I promise I won’t be so impulsive again.”

Catherine’s expression softened slightly:

“I hope you can keep your word. However, don’t even think about leaving this world for the next ten years. Go and serve as an Inspector for a few years first!”

Eric gritted his teeth. Although somewhat unwilling in his heart, he still nodded:

“Yes, Auntie, I will diligently fulfill my duties as an Inspector.”

“Don’t look so unwilling. If Brian weren’t here, I’d want to beat you up for Christina.”

After Catherine finished speaking, she said to Brian, “Alright, let’s not talk about that anymore. Now it’s time to upgrade Spirit Eye.”

When Brian heard Phantom Moon say she was upgrading Spirit Eye, a glimmer of anticipation flashed in his eyes.

By now,

Spirit Eye was already his important partner.

Much of his current research and daily life couldn’t do without it.

Eric had also seen Spirit Eye, this special type of Tower Spirit life.

He curiously watched Catherine, wanting to know how she would upgrade Spirit Eye.

“Brian, go and bring Spirit Eye’s main body over.”

Catherine said to Brian with a calm expression.

“Okay, Your Excellency Catherine, I’ll go get it now.”

Soon, Brian returned to the front of the level 6 mage tower.

Behind him floated Spirit Eye’s main body.

Immediately, he respectfully said to Catherine, “Your Excellency, I plan to place Spirit Eye on the top floor of the Mage Tower.”

“Hmm, good. Find it a room on the top floor of the Mage Tower. It deserves such treatment.”

Catherine was very pleased that Brian recognized the importance of Spirit Eye.

After all, she had also built a similar one in her own Sky City,

though its level was a tiny bit higher.

Her intelligent lifeform was currently managing her entire Sky City,

which was much more capable than the Tower Spirit intelligence she used before,

playing an extraordinary role in her life, research, and management.

This was also why she viewed Brian in a different light.

Her initiative to help Brian upgrade Spirit Eye this time was also due to her special affection for this type of intelligent lifeform.

Subsequently, the three arrived in a room on the top floor of the Mage Tower.

Brian placed Spirit Eye’s main body in the center of the room.

Catherine walked to Spirit Eye’s main body.

With a wave of one hand, various materials immediately appeared in the space.

When Eric saw these materials,

his eyes widened, and he whispered into Brian’s ear:

“Brian, these are all level 7 and level 8 materials! Aunt Catherine is investing heavily! You’ve hit the jackpot!”

Upon hearing Eric’s words, Brian also looked incredulous. He had thought there were only level 6 and 7 materials!

He never expected them to be all level 7 and 8 materials!

He owed Your Excellency Catherine a huge favor this time!

Brian didn’t reply to Eric, his eyes fixed on the materials.

After taking out the materials, Catherine began to release her Spirit Fire.

When her Spirit Fire was released,

the space began to distort.

Following this was a wave of law fluctuations.

Eric then whispered into Brian’s ear, “This is the Law of Spirit Fire, a fusion law. Only mages at the peak of level 9 and above possess fusion laws.”

Brian’s pupils instantly constricted and dilated, and his mouth hung open in an ‘O’ shape.

He was shocked! He had thought Catherine was only a level 8 mage, but he never expected her to already be a level 9, close to level 10, existence!

Eric then quietly enlightened Brian in his ear:

“Level 7 mages comprehend laws, level 8 mages control at least one law, level 9 mages control all laws they have comprehended, and after initially fusing a few of their own laws, they begin the path to breakthrough.”

“Until all laws throughout their body are controlled and fused, and they create a rule unique to themselves, that is a level 10 mage!”

Brian slightly parted his lips, his eyebrows raised high.

This was the first time he had encountered knowledge beyond level 7 mages.

He never expected the subsequent path to be so magnificent.

Comprehending laws, controlling laws, fusing laws, creating rules!

The path of a mage had been walked step by step by those who came before!

He then thought of His Majesty Karma, who was at the conceptual level.

He asked Eric in his ear, “Then what about the conceptual level?”

“The conceptual level is level 11. As for how to achieve the conceptual level, I don’t know. My teacher didn’t tell me.”

Eric answered Brian’s question, although he only knew that it was a level 11 existence and no other information.

However, for Brian, this was already enough.
