14: Mage Path Selection

Klein stood before the elemental pool, his fingertip tracing the runes along its edge, which glowed a faint blue under his touch:

"Brian, this elemental pool is the core of the Mage Tower. It integrates a Tier 4 Energy Gathering Magic Formation, a Tier 4 Otherworldly Elemental Attraction Magic Formation, a Tier 4 Elemental Conversion Magic Formation, a Tier 4 Advanced Energy Storage Magic Formation, and a Tier 4 Magic Stone Condensation Magic Formation."

He reached out and lightly touched the pool water, causing ripples to spread across the surface:

"It draws elemental magic power from other planes, which is then purified by the conversion Magic Formation and compressed for storage by the energy gathering Magic Formation. When the energy storage Magic Formation is saturated, it automatically activates the magic stone condensation Magic Formation to generate magic stones—the magic stones you use daily originate from this."

Brian leaned down and touched the pool water; a warm current surged into his arm. He closed his eyes, feeling the magic power coursing through his meridians, his face showing a mix of intoxication and surprise.

'This... this is practically a perpetual motion machine!' he thought to himself.

Could a few Magic Formations really achieve infinite energy?

Would it continuously generate gold?

Mages in this world would make even capitalists feel inferior!

"Let's call you Gumo Ning," Brian replied with a smile.

"Thank you for the name, Master!" The Tower Spirit bowed and withdrew.

Klein patted Brian's shoulder: "Come, let's go to the sixth-floor library. It's time to choose your path as a mage."

Inside the library, magic tomes were neatly arranged, emitting faint magical fluctuations.

Klein opened a thick book: "The paths of mages are divided into four categories: War Mage, Teaching Mage, Research Mage, and Life Mage."

He pointed to the page and explained: "War Mages specialize in combat magic, Teaching Mages transmit knowledge, Research Mages study the essence of magic, and Life Mages integrate magic into daily life."

Klein opened another book, pointing to a battlefield in the illustration:

"War Mages are the masters of the battlefield. They are proficient in offensive spells like the Fireball Spell, Ice Cone Spell, and Lightning Spell, and can combine them flexibly according to the battlefield situation."

He pointed to a group of mages in the illustration:

"Look at this group of War Mages. A hundred of them can connect and release spells two levels beyond their own in three seconds, covering the entire battlefield. But the cost of being a War Mage is immense; they need to constantly fight and may even sacrifice their lives on the battlefield."

Brian frowned: "This doesn't align with my philosophy of protecting the territory."

Klein opened a Life Mage's diary: "Life Mages integrate magic into their daily lives. They can use magic to cook delicious food, make clothes, and build houses."

He pointed to an illustration in the diary:

"Look at this Life Mage; she used magic to create clothing that automatically adjusts temperature. The magic of Life Mages is usually gentler and more practical."

Brian nodded: "This somewhat aligns with my philosophy of protecting the territory, but it's not quite suitable for a lord's identity."

Finally, Klein opened a Research Mage's notebook: "Research Mages are the explorers of the magical world; they study the essence of magic and drive its development."

He pointed to the experimental data in the notebook:

"Look at this Research Mage; he researched runes that can improve magic efficiency. Research Mages require a lot of time and energy, but their achievements can often change the world."

When Brian saw this, his eyes lit up with an unprecedented glow, and he murmured:

"This might be what I want to do!"
