3: Cultivation Method

Standing in the Magic Formation again, Brian's figure gradually blurred in the light as the blue light flowed like liquid crystal.

When the light dissipated, he had returned to the Mage Tower in the pioneering territory.

The moment he pushed open the oak door, the morning sun spread like golden silk across the corridor, and the air was filled with a mixed scent of magic and flowers, as if his entire being was gently enveloped in the morning light.

"My Lord, you've returned," Butler Gude bowed, holding a gilded tea tray. The teacup on the tray emitted wisps of steam, and the aroma of tea intertwined with magic, creating a wonderful olfactory experience.

Brian, however, waved his hand, and a pale blue light screen condensed on his fingertip: "I will be in seclusion today. Do not disturb me unless it's urgent."

The light screen unfolded before him like a transparent barrier, isolating all external noise.

He walked straight to the meditation room on the first underground floor.

When the stone door slowly closed behind him, the runic lamps on the wall suddenly lit up, and the Magic Formation flowed like a living entity beneath his feet. A refreshing magical energy instantly enveloped his entire body, as if he had plunged into a cool lake, invigorating his spirit.

The Spirit-Fusion Cultivation Method—this system, founded by the first Emperor Luobei Kama, now unfolded in Brian's mind like a scroll.

This great man, revered as the "Ancestor of Spirit-Fusion," selflessly shared his cultivation method with his followers, leading to the current glory of the Mage Empire.

His deeds were compiled into epics, sung throughout the empire, becoming a beacon in the hearts of countless mages.

"The Spirit-Fusion Meditation Method and the Magic Tempering Method are truly a perfect pair," Brian murmured, drawing a golden trajectory in the air with his fingertip.

The former achieves instant spell casting by engraving runes on a mental sphere, while the latter draws external elements to temper the physical body.

Before this system's birth, mages often died prematurely due to magical erosion. Now, however, they can achieve a transformation in their life level during advancement, truly realizing "spirit and body as one."

In Brian's Spirit Sea, two runic spheres were slowly rotating.

The surface of the first sphere was engraved with six First-rank spells, among which three core runes—Spirit Fire, Spirit Stabilization, and Spirit Control—shone like three constant stars, emitting a steady light.

Spirit Fire is the foundation for advancement; without it, the two spheres cannot merge. Spirit Stabilization prevents spiritual power from going out of control, and Spirit Control allows the mage to control spiritual power more precisely.

Detailed Cultivation System:

Spirit-Fusion Meditation Method:

First-rank Mage: Meditate a perfectly round sphere in the Spirit Sea, engraving six First-rank spells or one Second-level spell (one level beyond one's own) on its surface.

Engraved spells can be cast instantly, while unengraved spells require spiritual guidance to be cast, with variable timing.

Core spells (foundation for advancement): Spirit Fire, Spirit Stabilization, Spirit Control.

Advancement Mechanism: Upon advancement, the mental spheres merge, and the engraving slots become vacant. Previously engraved spells automatically upgrade to instant cast. The number of spheres doubles with each advancement.

Example: First-rank to Second-level requires cultivating 2 mental spheres; Second to Third requires 4; Third to Fourth requires 8; Fourth to Fifth requires 16; Fifth to Sixth requires 32.

After advancing from First-rank to Second-level, the 2 mental spheres will merge into 1. The 1 Second-level spell previously engraved will automatically transform into an instinct and become an instant-cast spell. The engraving slots of the merged mental sphere will then become vacant.

The spell runes engraved within the mental sphere can be erased or engraved according to one's needs.

Spirit-Fusion Magic Attraction and Tempering Method:

Magic Attraction: Guiding external magical elements into the body through spiritual power to enhance one's own magic.

Magic Compression: Using higher-level spiritual power to compress overflowing magic, turning it into higher-level magic.

Body Tempering: Tempering the body with compressed magic to promote the evolution of life level.

Cultivation Effects:

Physical Body: From fragile to resilient, life level continuously improves.

Magic: From easily lost to stable, energy density greatly increases.

Spells: From incantation casting to instant casting, combat efficiency doubles.

Cultivation Precautions:

After a breakthrough, one needs to cultivate for a period of time to fully synchronize the changes in magic and body.

Within the same realm, one needs to achieve complete synchronization of spirit and body.

Those with insufficient talent face a risk of failure in advancement.

Cultivation Advantages:

Cross-level combat becomes possible.

Instant spell casting makes combat more flexible.

Simultaneous improvement of body and magic, overall strength far exceeds that of ordinary mages.

"The Spirit-Fusion Cultivation Method is not just a cultivation method, but a way of life," Brian sat in the meditation room, his thoughts surging.

"It teaches us that true strength lies not in the power of spells, but in the harmonious unity of body and mind."

In the Mage World, when facing an equally skilled Spirit-Fusion Mage, you want to fight above your level?

Everyone can instantly cast higher-level spells, so how are you going to fight above your level?

Impossible! Absolutely impossible!

What is this? This is a Mage!

Not a useless mage who takes ages to cast a spell of the same level, like an ordinary mage, or a magic-net mage who can only cast a few spells a day!

Cultivate!

Brian began his first cultivation after advancing to Third-grade Mage Talent.

"Almost there..." He smiled slightly, watching the second sphere in his Spirit Sea, which was 99% complete.

Time seemed to freeze at this moment, and Brian was completely immersed in the world of meditation, with everything external irrelevant to him.

He focused on the changes in his Spirit Sea, guiding his spiritual power to operate along a specific trajectory, accelerating the meditation process of the second sphere.

After an unknown period, Brian suddenly felt a slight fluctuation in his Spirit Sea, as if some shackles had been broken.

He abruptly opened his eyes, a hint of surprise flashing within them. He knew that the second sphere was finally complete.

At this moment, the two perfectly round spheres, covered in runes, in his Spirit Sea reflected each other, emitting a soft and mysterious light.

'The sphere is finally meditated into existence. I'll rest for a bit before engraving the runes,' Brian's thoughts surged.

'My talent has advanced, so I should be able to advance to Second-level Mage today. What Second-level spell rune should I engrave then?'

Brian rested while considering what kind of Second-level rune he needed to engrave.

'There are many choices for Second-level spell runes.

Large-area attack spells like Flame Storm can cause considerable damage in combat, but they also consume a lot of magic.

There's also Magic Shield, which can enhance one's defensive capabilities and provide effective protection when facing enemy attacks.

Or Teleportation Technique, which allows one to change position within a short time, making it very practical for both offense and retreat.'

Brian carefully weighed the pros and cons of each Second-level spell rune in his mind.

'Currently, what I need most are life-saving spells.'

'As long as I live long, and have more descendants, I will naturally become invincible!'

'So, for now, I'll lie low and have enough life-saving measures.'

'I'll choose between Second-level Clone Technique or Second-Rank Teleportation Technique!'

'I'll choose Second-Rank Teleportation Technique!'

After making up his mind, Brian went to the library on the second floor.

The library was filled with various magic books, each carrying the wisdom and experience of mages.

Brian, familiar with the layout, walked to the area where books on Second-level spell runes were placed, his gaze sweeping across the bookshelves.

Soon, he found a detailed book on the engraving of Second-Rank Teleportation Technique runes.

He took the book from the shelf, sat down at a nearby table, and gently opened its pages.

"Detailed Explanation of Second-Rank Teleportation Technique Runes," his fingertip traced the golden runes on the page.

These lines were not simple patterns, but laws containing spatial magic. Each stroke condensed the wisdom of countless predecessors.

"So that's how it is..." Brian suddenly opened his eyes, a flash of understanding in them.

He took a piece of parchment, dipped his pen in magical ink, and began to draw the core runes of the Second-Rank Teleportation Technique.

Each stroke condensed the guidance of spiritual power until the last rune perfectly closed, and a faint blue light suddenly appeared on the paper, as if it was alive and pulsating.

He carefully studied every detail, from the direction of the rune lines to the rhythm of magic injection, not daring to be careless in the slightest.

During the study, he would occasionally close his eyes, simulating the rune engraving process in his mind, feeling the trajectory of magic flowing within it.

After a period of diligent study, Brian felt that he had a sufficient grasp of engraving the Second-Rank Teleportation Technique runes.

He closed the book and returned to the meditation room on the first underground floor.
