127: Unconditional trust
These Professionals immediately panicked, with some even preparing to release skills at their surroundings.
Gu Qinghan stopped them, released the Bear King, and had them hide behind it.
"No one is to attack without my command."
Gu Qinghan left only that one sentence and then looked directly at the feathers around them.
Black feathers drifted down, like a heavy snow.
But in this heavy snow, some black feathers turned into black Mutated Crows and flew towards the group.
He simply converted two Skeletons' professions into Extreme Ice Wizards, who then released several Ice Spike Balls around them.
Immediately, these ordinary crows exploded into plumes of feathers, with each requiring only one ice spike to be dealt with.
It should be known that these two Skeletons had just been summoned and had not been reinforced.
Yet, even so, those black crows were instantly scattered, which was enough to show that they posed no threat whatsoever.
However, amidst the sky full of black feathers, one or two screaming black crows would appear at an unknown time, making everyone's nerves tense up.
Gu Qinghan also returned to the Bear King's protective range, looking up at the black Crow King high in the sky.
This ability seemed to be more about creating a sense of oppression than having any actual lethality.
But very quickly, Gu Qinghan realized he was wrong.
Just as these people slightly relaxed, a patch of black feathers in the distance suddenly began to swirl rapidly.
Then, a Mutated Crow, at least several meters in size, emerged from the black feathers and lunged directly at the Bear King.
The Bear King immediately swatted at it, but only scattered a pile of black feathers.
"What exactly is this thing? An illusion?"
The Extreme Ice Wizard Girl from the previous team shrieked, her voice thick with fear.
But Gu Qinghan merely glanced at her and said:
"Don't speak. I'm here."
His voice was not loud, but it immediately made the Girl shut her mouth.
However, her eyes still looked around in terror, constantly worried that a crow would rush out the next second.
A few seconds later, black feathers in one direction suddenly began to swirl, and a Mutated Crow burst out from them.
This time, Gu Qinghan directly had two Sky Eye Skeletons shoot two arrows towards it.
The crossbow arrows pierced through the Mutated Crow, bringing out some blood and the Mutated Crow's screams.
"This one is real?"
Gu Qinghan frowned; in fact, he couldn't distinguish which crow was real.
However, since the Sky Eye profession's normal attacks did not consume mana, he directly gave the command to attack.
The injured Mutated Crow struggled to fly into the sky but was quickly shot full of holes.
Feeling a surge of Necromantic Power enter his body, Gu Qinghan was even more certain that this was a real Mutated Crow.
This strange and mysterious ability greatly interested Gu Qinghan, but he had no good solution.
If they didn't attack, these black crows would constantly rush in from all directions, obscuring their vision and interfering with their judgment.
And attacking would only increase the number of black feathers, creating more crows, and even real Mutated Crows.
It seemed that ever since he chose to have Lin Xueying kill that small Mutated Crow, he had fallen into the Mutated Crow King's trap.
Lin Xueying stared at the Mutated Crow King in the sky and said to Gu Qinghan:
"Boss Gu, one of my skills, Sky Sniping, can hit their leader. You should be able to use it too, right?"
Gu Qinghan nodded but made no further move.
He simply converted some Skeletons into Berserker Skeletons to protect the ranged Professional Skeletons from attacks.
Then, he continued to have these Sky Eye Skeletons attack the surrounding crows, without making a move against the Crow King high in the sky.
As time passed, these Professionals began to have other thoughts.
A middle-aged man quietly said to his companion beside him:
"I was scared by this kid just now. Like Luo Mu, he's only gotten this far because of good luck."
"Yeah, Lin Xueying already told him there's a skill that can hit it, but he's not using it. Who knows what he's trying to pull."
"Don't talk nonsense. Maybe Boss Gu has his own plan; it's just not convenient for him to tell us."
"Who knows? Anyway, our lives are in his brother's hands now. We'll do our best and leave the rest to fate."
Gu Qinghan could probably hear some of the whispers around him, but he showed no reaction.
However, he continued to attack the crows that appeared from time to time, as if he were stubbornly challenging the Crow King.
Just as the black feathers were gradually obscuring their vision, a loud thunderclap suddenly came from a distance.
Then, the giant black crow in the sky suddenly let out an unpleasant shriek and exploded into a huge mass of black feathers in everyone's sight.
The number of black feathers the Crow King exploded into seemed even greater than all the previous ones, making the people below feel as if it had gotten a bit darker.
However, these black feathers seemed to be summoned by something, turning into streams of black light that converged towards the top of a distant building.
The Professionals looked at each other, completely unaware of what had happened.
In the sky, the group of Mutated Crows no longer circled but scattered and fled into the distance.
A few minutes later, Luo Mu quickly ran back, dragging a huge, struggling crow.
"Brother! You were right! This guy was watching from the top of a building over there!
When I went up, this guy almost flew away, but thankfully I was fast enough!"
The small figure Luo Mu was dragging was precisely the Mutated Crow King, with a wingspan exceeding ten meters.
Just one of the claws Luo Mu was dragging was almost taller than Luo Mu himself.
However, the Mutated Crow King was currently bound by several lightning chains, preventing it from making any counterattacks.
At the same time, there were obvious scorch marks on its body, and it was clear without thinking that Luo Mu, that brute, was responsible.
Gu Qinghan nodded and had the Bear King step forward to pin down the Mutated Crow King.
The surrounding Professionals all gasped, realizing that Gu Qinghan hadn't made a move because he had guessed that the Crow King in the sky was also a trap.
Luo Mu took off the breath concealing cloak that Gu Qinghan had secretly given him earlier, and the lightning on his body slowly faded.
As soon as the first Mutated Crow exploded into a mass of black feathers, Gu Qinghan had slipped this item to him.
Later, Gu Qinghan whispered something in his ear, the specific content being:
"Wear this and check the tops of the tall buildings around. You should be able to find the Mutated Crow King's true body.
Its melee ability shouldn't be strong. If possible, bring it back."
Gu Qinghan knew Luo Mu had this ability. Luo Mu had told him before that his Class Mentor had given him a very powerful attack skill.
And Luo Mu's ability to not feel fear might be related to his profession.
The violent and wild lightning should not fear any power.
But there was also another point: Luo Mu's unconditional trust in Gu Qinghan.
Whatever Gu Qinghan decided, Luo Mu would wholeheartedly agree.
Even if Gu Qinghan said this world should be destroyed.
Luo Mu would mercilessly use his lightning to break the shackles of this world.
