420: The strongmen of Whale Fall City

When Gu Qinghan first learned about dragons, he had actually imagined riding one into battle someday.

Dragon Knight—that was probably a profession every Male Student had imagined.

Yet, up until now, Gu Qinghan had never seen a true Knight profession.

Even Han Zhigang was merely sitting on his pet; he couldn't demonstrate the advantages of a cavalryman.

But very quickly, Gu Qinghan felt that something was amiss:

"An Outstanding Class, why would he be participating so early?"

He meant that an Outstanding Class should have acquired substantial resources, and thus shouldn't have such low level and strength.

Piao Jun thought for a moment and said:

"I remember him. He came with his girlfriend at the time, and she was severely injured."

"After being healed, she was left with severe negative side effects, and he spent many of his resources treating his girlfriend."

"However, his girlfriend was fully healed a few days ago. Otherwise, he might still be outside killing monsters to accumulate points."

Gu Qinghan suddenly understood, and his impression of the Knight improved even further.

A responsible person, even if temporarily lagging in strength, would catch up in a very short time.

The battle in the arena quickly began. The Gale Knight and Han Zhigang tacitly moved towards one side.

After all, this was a friendly competition, not a fight to the death. If they didn't avoid the main battle area, they could easily injure others accidentally.

Han Zhigang looked at the Gale Knight and chuckled:

"It seems like we're the only two in Whale Fall City with dragon-mutated Mutated Creatures. What's your name, brother?"

The Gale Knight seemed a bit introverted, but he smiled and replied:

"Hello, big brother. My name is Han Lie, the same character as in my profession, Gale Knight."

Just then, Han Zhigang suddenly launched a sneak attack and chuckled:

"Since you called me big brother, I'll teach you a lesson: never lose focus during a fight!"

Han Zhigang had truly clawed his way out of Hell-level difficulty; even his smile now carried a hint of ferocity.

Vines emerged from beneath Han Lie's feet, forming a quickly tightening cage of tree roots.

But Han Lie showed no sign of anger; he nodded seriously:

"Thank you for the reminder, big brother, but I think you're the one who let his guard down."

His voice was somewhat ethereal, causing Han Zhigang's expression to stiffen slightly.

The next moment, the Dragon Hound beneath him suddenly bolted to the side.

The instant the Dragon Hound ran off, Han Lie's figure appeared exactly where he had just been standing.

Han Lie was now holding a long spear, with tiny air currents swirling around his body.

Meanwhile, the figure trapped in the wooden cage was slowly dissipating.

"Good heavens, he's that strong?"

Han Zhigang cried out in surprise, staring blankly at the blasted crater in the ground.

If that hit him, it definitely wouldn't kill him, but it would certainly break a few bones.

Of course, broken bones could be quickly healed by skills, but he would definitely suffer quite a bit.

Han Lie still looked introverted; he raised his long spear and said:

"Your reaction is fast too. I've heard about you guys and have wanted to spar with you for a long time."

Following that, his figure blurred again, making Han Zhigang's hair stand on end.

Both sides continuously attacked and defended, but Han Zhigang was almost always at a disadvantage.

"That's not fair! I see you're two levels lower than me, so why are you dominating me like this!

Previous Outstanding Classes weren't this outrageous! It makes me furious!"

Han Zhigang yelled dramatically, but Han Lie suddenly stopped.

He thought for a moment and said seriously:

"It might be because I was too weak before I obtained my mount. Back then, I found it hard to fight even monsters of the same level."

After speaking, he charged toward his opponent again.

"You brat, I'm getting serious now!"

Han Zhigang shouted, and the Dragon Hound beneath him suddenly transformed into a stream of green light and merged into his body.

Immediately afterward, wooden patterns appeared on Han Zhigang's body, and his physique gradually took on canine features.

Gu Qinghan watched the two sides, who seemed to have reached a stalemate, and couldn't help but feel surprised.

This Gale Knight seemed a bit... to his liking!

"What is this person's name?"

"It seems to be Han Lie. Wait, is the other person also surnamed Han?"

Gu Qinghan nodded, then thought for a moment and said:

"Regardless of whether he wins or loses, have him come see me later."

Piao Jun glanced at Gu Qinghan, seemed to realize something, nodded, and continued watching the match.

This match was still ongoing, but almost everyone's attention was focused on Han Lie and Han Zhigang.

Their clash was extremely intense. At one point, Han Zhigang even risked injury just to try and leave a mark on his opponent.

But Han Lie's combat experience was clearly very rich; he managed to neutralize the attacks almost always at the lowest possible cost.

Finally, Han Lie dodged an attack from Han Zhigang and shouted toward Gu Qinghan's direction:

"He's injured. Continuing to fight might be dangerous."

"But he seems to have lost his mind. What should I do?"

He didn't need to say it; the surrounding people could also see that Han Zhigang had already sustained serious injuries.

However, his Dragon Hound was truly powerful, managing to stop the hemorrhage using that green energy.

Gu Qinghan was about to speak, but Wang Yan glanced at him and said: "I'll handle it."

Gu Qinghan nodded, and immediately saw Wang Yan sprinting toward the area.

At the same time, his equipment gradually materialized on his body, causing many people to exclaim "Armor Hero."

Han Lie led Han Zhigang toward Wang Yan, and then Wang Yan grabbed Han Zhigang and lifted him up.

Han Zhigang struggled ceaselessly, even attacking Wang Yan's body with his hands, which had transformed into beast claws.

Unfortunately, Wang Yan seemed to be immune to this type of damage.

He simply carried Han Zhigang like that, slowly walking away from the battlefield.

Wang Yan's steps were slow, but every single one appeared incredibly steady.

Especially since he hadn't exchanged a single word from beginning to end, making many people feel that he was mysterious and powerful.

"This Wang Yan is quite flashy, always moving in slow motion," Piao Jun joked.

Gu Qinghan shook his head and explained:

"His equipment is like that; it slows down his movement speed."

Piao Jun burst out laughing, then immediately announced the end of the match.

Han Lie was free, and Han Zhigang's team no longer needed to compete.

"Han Lie's profession counts as one, and the Shadow Spear profession can count as another. Combining these two professions would definitely produce a qualitative change in effect,"

Gu Qinghan thought to himself. He then started thinking about adding some defensive capabilities to his skeletons.

If possible, a bit of crowd control and ranged ability would be best, allowing several skills to form an effective synergy.

This way, his future subordinates would possess considerable combat power in almost any scenario.

As the competition progressed, the Professionals who appeared became stronger, and their professional abilities left Gu Qinghan feeling dazzled.

However, what attracted him the most was a Professional holding a shield.

A fireball powerful enough to slowly melt rock smashed onto the strong man's shield, yet it neither scattered nor fell to the ground.

The fireball seemed to have landed on a trampoline; after pausing for a second, it rapidly bounced back in the direction it came from!

Piao Jun noticed Gu Qinghan's gaze and said with a hint of smugness:

"I tricked this guy into coming here from a Gathering Place earlier. You will definitely be interested in his profession."

"What profession?" Gu Qinghan asked.

"Shield of Vengeance, a Legendary Class."
