341: The Feud Between the Source Worms and the Dragons

Gu Qinghan looked at the black corpse, which was mostly covered in fine scales, and couldn't connect it to an ant.

However, Chu Tian wouldn't be joking at this moment, so this had to be the corpse of a Mutated Ant.

"Take as many of these corpses as you need; it's fine if you use them all. There's nothing worth researching in them anyway."

Chu Tian shrugged, appearing quite generous.

Gu Qinghan didn't hesitate and collected all the corpses.

He didn't want to reveal the fact that the Source Worm could refine this energy yet, so he could only do it when he was alone.

He went back to check on Professor Tie, who was now completely engrossed in his research, even waving them off and saying, "Come back to me later. I have an idea, don't interrupt me."

Gu Qinghan and Chu Tian exchanged a wry smile and could only head outside.

Passing by another research area, the Researchers in white coats they had met in the cafeteria were already back at their stations.

Some glanced at Gu Qinghan and then resumed their work, while others didn't even notice anyone passing by.

However, Professor Su Huang was not among them.

Chu Tian withdrew his gaze and sneered, "He's so eager to climb up. I'd like to see how far he can go."

He had made up his mind to tell Uncle Hai about Su Huang as soon as he returned.

After all, few people knew about his relationship with Zheng Shanhai; they only knew Chu Tian as a powerful Professional guarding the Shangjing Base... As night fell, Gu Qinghan quickly washed up and took out all the Mutated Creature corpses he had collected during the day.

These corpses had not been refrigerated, yet there was no scent of decay, which might have been a benefit of the mutation.

However, Gu Qinghan had no intention of eating them; he directly released the Source Worm.

"You little guy, you eat well every day. Dinner time!"

After giving the little fellow a command, Gu Qinghan waited for the Source Worm to refine the special energy from these corpses.

But this time, the Source Worm didn't immediately start devouring the energy. Instead, it showed fear, shrinking back.

"You're saying there's an aura in these corpses that you instinctively fear?"

Gu Qinghan and the Source Worm were connected by thought, so he quickly understood its meaning.

Looking at the Source Worm's trembling, plump body, Gu Qinghan also put it back into his hand, his eyes flickering with thought.

Suddenly, he remembered the scene when he saw the Lord of the Secret Realm in the Insect Tide Secret Realm.

That half-section of a giant insect, hundreds of meters in diameter, was suppressed beneath a towering mountain peak that reached into the clouds.

At the time, Gu Qinghan only felt that the huge mountain peak resembled a giant beast, but now, thinking back, that thing might not have been a beast.

A terrifying thought emerged in Gu Qinghan's mind, because he felt that the thing seemed more like a powerful flying creature.

Was it a giant dragon?

Gu Qinghan suddenly swallowed with difficulty; its sky-obscuring size had exceeded his comprehension.

He observed the Source Worm in his hand for a while, then recalled everything he had seen and heard in the Insect Tide Secret Realm.

"The Guardian said that the Source Worm is the strongest creature in the Insect Tide Secret Realm... Winged Insects, Zhan Insects, Cang Worms, these all directly obey the Lord of the Secret Realm... Clearly, the Lord of the Secret Realm is also a Source Worm, but its body is only half-remaining... But those insect beasts inside don't seem to be entirely subordinates of the Source Worm... The insect beasts are clearly constantly being raised by the Source Worm, and the role of the Zhan Insects in ordinary times... should be to kill these insect beasts?"

Gu Qinghan muttered to himself, suddenly remembering something, and a deep horror appeared in his eyes.

He cleared all distracting thoughts from his mind and began to deduce again:

"If that mountain peak truly transformed from a giant dragon, and the Lord of the Secret Realm also had half its body missing.

They must have fought, and both were severely injured... No, the giant dragon is dead, and the Source Worm is at most severely wounded.

The Zhan Insects, Winged Insects, and Cang Worms that directly obey the Source Worm, and even that giant insect that emerged from below, should all be natives of the Source Worm's world.

And those insect beasts might be a type of monster created by the Source Worm absorbing the energy of the giant dragon that was suppressing it?

But the dragon's power might be special and cannot be directly converted and absorbed,

So, the very existence of the Zhan Insects is to clear out any unruly elements among them..."

Gu Qinghan rubbed his temples, trying to sort everything out as much as possible.

He felt that his conjecture might not be entirely correct, but it was definitely not far from the truth.

The fear that his Source Worm felt towards these Mutated Creatures most likely originated from the previous war.

And Gu Qinghan had once thought that he had scared the Lord of the Secret Realm in the Insect Tide Secret Realm, which was why it wanted to see him and gave him so many benefits.

But now that he thought about it, who would give away their child as a benefit?

Combining what the Guardian had said before, this clearly meant that the Source Worm sensed the power of death and entrusted its child to Gu Qinghan!

After all, it was Death who had previously intervened to protect the world where the Source Worm resided.

"Everything makes sense! Everything is logical!"

The smile on Gu Qinghan's lips grew wider, and he finally burst into laughter.

This might just be a microcosm of a past Game of Gods, but Gu Qinghan truly enjoyed the feeling of unearthing the truth.

But if things truly were this way, then the appearance of this giant dragon was definitely not just a coincidence.

But who left that mysterious prophecy?

Gu Qinghan didn't dwell on these thoughts; he simply looked at the Source Worm in his hand and said seriously,

"Now, only two paths lie before you.

Firstly, you overcome your fear and extract the special power from these corpses for me, so we can prepare in advance.

Secondly, you continue to be a cowardly worm, eating and sleeping.

But I hope you know, you don't belong to this world.

In your original world, your mother and your people are waiting for you to save them."

After saying this, Gu Qinghan placed the Source Worm beside him and then entered the Necropolis.

The Time Walkers' time capsules still needed some time to be made; he needed to quickly improve his strength during this period.

And he had already told Chu Tian that no one was allowed to enter unless he came out.

In the empty room, only the Source Worm was curled up in a corner of the bed, looking helplessly at the corpses scattered all over the floor.

The aura emanating from these corpses filled it with an instinctive fear.

This power had once nearly killed its mother, and it had inherited this memory.

However, Gu Qinghan's words made it realize that it had to overcome this fear.

It possessed extremely high intelligence, which was evident from the way it usually looked at Gu Qinghan.

Time passed by second by second; the Source Worm took a few steps forward, then a few steps back, as if fighting with its inner demons.

Suddenly, at a certain moment, its body shot out and landed on one of the corpses.

It opened its mouth and bit directly into it, as if tearing at a giant dragon's throat.

The Source Worm's tiny size made this action appear especially cute.

However, under its biting, a powerful suction emerged, causing the scales on the corpse to rapidly lose their luster.

Gu Qinghan's words echoed in its mind as its body continuously absorbed the minuscule amounts of power that terrified it.

Unbeknownst to it, its body quietly expanded, and some morphological changes occurred.
